Good and solid advice and beginner tips - Only thing I'd add is how important it is to do Supply Runs. Trucking and transporting in any way is even more important to win a match than fighting constantly. No supplies, no fighting at the front. The nice bonus from it, you level up way quicker and get access to bigger things to drive and fly.

If you’re using the backpack radio place it behind enemy lines. When you die spawn at a base and you can fast travel to the radio with a full kit not draining its 100 supplies. It’s a 5 min cooldown but you can fast travel to it infinitely imo this is op and not a lot of people know about it While at your base open the map and hover over the radio. Open the interact menu and select pickup the cursor will change and you just move that over the base you spawn at

As a Logi main i also wanna give a tip if new players want to to supply runs. Every objective with the exception of ( Hornbeam Valley, Andre's beacon and Pinewood lake ) will have at least one usually two hidden supply points with minimum of 550 supplies, they are typically in nearby building such as the 3 story buildings with attics, barn buildings, storage lockers or the giant warhorses. They will give you extra supplies to build up a base and most of the time they're undefended, however unlike the marked ones where the AI spawn every 15 minutes they're not regenerating so once they're gone that's all she wrote

One thing I can deffo appreciate about Arma reforger is the people I've ran into, they are chill and always willing to help new players and the most notable is the patience of people, i used to be into squad for a time if you make a mistake or don't do something as fast as someone else people in that game talk to you like a dickhead and when you're trying to learn that just doesn't feel fair. But reforger everyone is not only understanding but genuinely interested in helping new people get into the game and that for me is SOOO IMPORTANT! Big pat on the back for the pc and console players of reforger! Great people, great games and imo most importantly it's a really great experience! A MUST TRY!!

I'm now 50ish hours into Reforger after watching Arma 3 Videos and Streams since 2015. Even though I knew most of what was said in this video, I love watching these guides. :D I mainly do support runs with very limited gear, only pistol etc. and it's great. Combat is also fun but spawning at a location just to get downed the same second can feel pretty rough. My biggest issue is estimating the distance of engagements: There was a hostile vehicle a few hundred meters away, had three chances to take it out, missed every shot. Too short, slightly too short, too far. :(

If anybody sees this comment buried deep by now: There's one more very important thing. Time management. If you only have 1-2 hours to play a day, you don't need to be afraid to try this game. Most games on everon can last up to 12 hours, so most of the time you never goig see the end of a match. In that case just join in, spawn into main, and squad up with some randoms or dom some troop transport/supply runs. Dont stress abou winning the game as fast as possible, just try to make the most out of your "shift" in the match.

Also combat tips: You can quick aim down your site by tapping on the aim button, by far the most useful thing in an FPS game in my opinion. You wont be as zoomed on your aim, but you have a far bigger FOV and a better turn circle.

@@Sandshoes001 they're using the same map in Arma Reforger as Operation Flashpoint(Arma 1). That's probably why you found it familiar. Operation Flashpoint 2 is a different game though. They had an issue long ago and left their company to create Arma. So Operation Flashpoint is now Arma 1

Remember to take those tourniquets off, if its on your legs you will move slower, if its on your arms your aim is effected when shooting.

Whats your issue is it inventory or settings menu? Inventory is mostly the same as dayz, pick and place 1 item at a time, some items will let you move multiple at a time but its a bit buggy, in terms of your quick menu, moving an item to that bar along the bottom will put it in your quick wheel, hold right dpad to open that, also, keep an eye on the bottom left of your screen while holding tye quick wheel up and youll see a bunch of shortcut button combos for certain things like lower/raise weapon, safety on/off, bipod deployment, binos, compass ect, all have shortcuts, also some bonus info, even with no bipod you can lean/rest/stabilise your rifle on hard surfaces/edges, sometimes trees but its touchy, since there's no stupid hold breath for robot hands that comes in handy for ambushes or whenever you really want the first few shots to count. Edit: or save the headache and invest in a keyboard+mouse, then use the controller for general play and the pc controls for inventory/menus or anything that suits your playstyle

There is still a lot to fix on console, this game seems to be getting a lot of good attention. However, it’s a buggy mess on console, I play on pc but all my mates play on xbox and they have a hard time downloading mods and getting into servers. Arma is not a console game and the performance is terrible which the devs and people who advertise this game forget to mention. Don’t get me wrong it has its good moments. But don’t be fooled by these KZbinrs bigging this game up. I really don’t believe it lives up to the hype it’s getting currently.

Games been out for a couple years now, the influx of fresh bodies mixed with veterans is fairly segregated at the moment. I watched a whole squad of guys crawling in a field like 300 meters away. They must have thought they were hidden in the grass but it does not render for me at that distance. You can also equip attachments directly to your weapon by simply dragging and dropping them onto the weapon in your slot. This DOES NOT work for muzzle devices (like suppressors and flash hiders) as you have to remove the muzzle device already on the rifle.

I have trouble gauging distances in meters, especially when trying to zero out a gun. I want to figure out a way to measure 300m from a target so I get a sense of what that distance looks like and go from there.

In Arma for distances 100-400m I found it useful to just memorize how many Pixels the model takes up in different sights when aiming down sights...IR + 4x and the player model measured by mildots

In my opinion I do NOT think you should kit up at the start of a match, instead build transport and use it to capture points quickly at the start. (Levels you up ALOT quicker doing so) building a kit takes time and tend to lead to players using up all the resources instantly.

My go to loadout is as following: no bodyarmor (it's heavy and barely protects you), no Helmet (also heavy and barely protects you), a rifle with a red dot and suppressor for americans or just a supressor for the Russians, a supply pack for infinite resupplies of ammo, 4 initial mags, 1 Frag grenade. You'll be at most 21kgs and it only costs 3 supplies more than the default, mobility and guerilla tactics are the playstyle i prefer

Packet loss, actually missing and if you shoot people in non-lethal places they don't die immediately at all. You can literally be shot, dropped, go completely black, regain consciousness, stand up, and if you don't, bandage yourself and tend to your wounds or if you're wounded too badly faint again and die
