*Sponsored By Bluetti, but all opinions and experience shared are my own*
I've been using portable power stations for several years now, and the AC180 from Bluetti is the largest power station I've used to date. Is it overkill for camping or does it hit the sweet spot in power capacity to keep all your gear powered for your camping and overlanding trips?

The ac inverter uses 20 watts per hour by itself, as long as the AC circuit is switched on. This means you will get a much shorter use time when you use it to power low wattage AC devices. Use the 180 to power higher draw items and use a lower capacity generator for lower wattage items.

I use my EP70S to run my 12v fridge in the back of my vehicle. This frees up my AC180 to be able to move it around the area. And sometimes I do the opposite.

I completely agree with the need for a second 12v output. Fridge and a CPAP?? I have a Greecell 300 that will run my CPAP for two weeks but it's when I use my cigarette plug. The ability to run it and a fridge is definitely needed. I'll work around it, but your suggestion is on spot.

I think this definitely is the sweet spot. You can buy adapters to give you more slots, Its not too heavy, you can power most things, it’s a good brand, quality and reliability for a decent price. I might get two 👍

Wow. I'm a fan. I live in travel trailer and do lots of truck trips. I have a small ROCKSOLAR but that doesn't power space heaters or ice chest.
@BackcountryExposure

Yeah space heaters for some reason require a lot of power. The 1800w inverter definitely makes this more flexible than other smaller options.

Nice. I like that it has a LiFePO 4 battery. I still use my smaller Jackery 240 a lot. It's enough to run the portable car fridge and I use an off brand 60W panel just in case.

@@lockandloadlikehell I just looked back at my orders and it was from 2021. It's not listed anymore but it's a "iClever 60W Foldable Solar Panel Charger". Basically a copy of Jackery's 60W but cheaper.

I'm looking for a Bluetti to use when I go hunting in my camper top. I just need something for my CPAP breathing machine at night and possibly a heating blanket or a heater. I'm looking to stay out for three or four nights. What size would you suggest? It's just hard for me to figure out of the power terminology. Thank you for your help.

whats a nice set up solar panels for it. ? Im still trying to wrap my head around the 60 volt, 10 amp solar panel input limits. Ive heard you can over panel the watts.. but whats the story on the 60 volts and 10 amps.

Devin there is a “Y” connector made for the 12 volt plug. Giving two outlets out of one. Since the draw is low shouldn’t be a problem. Just an idea.
@BackcountryExposure
@BackcountryExposure 9 ай бұрын
Yeah I knew those exist, but I’d still want two outputs. The splitter is a good solution though. Or they could also add the smaller 12v port, forget the size but it’s often what blankets use too.

@@BackcountryExposure I don’t really understand why people use so much energy either either electrically or through gas or a generator to use a heater or a heating blanket… you could achieve the same thing actually much better with a down blanket and down clothing/great insulation on vehicle/van/etc. For me, it’s not even worth the hassle, and the worry about my power drawing down to use external heaters, instead of better bedding/clothing. Just a thought. ✌️ Edit, also in general, you always want to have at least one or two windows open even in the coldest weather because you don’t want to be completely sealed in a car with all those VOCs and chemicals off-gassing. Getting healthy airflow is impossible with a heater, and heating blanket is like a down blanket with extra steps.

A bunch of us in Canada bought these from Amazon when Bluetti had a sale and coupon. They strung us along until after xmas (and all the deals were gone) and then they cancelled on us. They had already done something similar before. Apparently it is a way to make their product rise up in the search rankings. But this time it cost them a bunch of 1-star reviews for pulling this crap.

@@BackcountryExposure yea, not your fault or anybody else's. The reviews for this unit seemed good and a bunch of people on a forum were excited, getting a discount and an amazon coupon! I didn't know it was thing to manipulate the amazon search rankings until someone mentioned it be whats happening. and then we saw a review from someone else that bought the AC180 at a discount but had their order canceled for a price error.

@Sam-ys4p This thing is nothing but a big battery and a computer not a generator. This guy and others talk it up because the company gave it to them free for that purpose. This will not replace a real generator. They run out of power quick and your done. No solar cell is charging it quick enough to keep it running and if its bad weather there is no sun and the wind will blow the panels away. Nobody can work on them. If it goes bad your trucking it back and its heavy (at your cost). A real generator fill it with gas and thats it! Anybody can fix it. You dont want to use one of these things for an emergency that lasts more than a few hours. On top of all that there super expensive. And the batteries go bad, the computer locks up and you have to restart it to get it to work again. Dont buy one.

They totally blew it with this. I have no interest in solar because I want to use my 4wd roof for other things, and I don’t park up during for long periods only at night. So I need to rely on the car alternator, problem is they only allowed for 10 amp input on 12 volt, pathetic.
@BackcountryExposure
@BackcountryExposure 7 ай бұрын
If you had this plugged into a 12v input in your car to charge while you’re driving, you’d have more than enough charge time to keep the battery at 100%. If you’re running a fridge off of it, your fridge only runs periodically and so you’d easily keep it charged while driving. At least that’s been my experience.

I think that these types of devices are great, I own one myself. However, I do not think that you are qualified to determine if this brand is "The King Of Camping Power Stations" if you have not tried their actual competition, Jackery and EcoFlow. In this video you do show low end brands as comparisons but that's like saying Toyota is the best car in the world, but you didn't bother to test drive BMW or Mercedes. I understand that you got these products for free, so you need to hype them up but let's be honest, this is just a paid advertisement. If I am wrong, I would love to see you comparing all three brands (Bluetti, Jackery, EcoFlow) using the power stations that you already own and have been using so that you can make an honest determination based on facts from real world experience.
@BackcountryExposure
@BackcountryExposure 9 ай бұрын
First off, I appreciate your comment. Yes, it’s a sponsored video, so bias is part of the game here. However, unlike many who get product sent to them to share on their channels, I’ve put this unit to use over time, gathered real world experience with the device and not just talking about it out of the box. I also have many years of experience with these types of devices. I had been using Goal Zero Yeti power stations at a previous job for nearly a decade. I currently own power stations from Ecoflow (River 2 Pro and previously the River Pro), BioLite BaseCharge, and Bluetti. I don’t own a Jackery, but have used the brand as well. So yes, I’m coming from real world experience using many different brands and devices. A comparison video is actually on the schedule. But also remember this is KZbin. You’ve got to create some level of intrigue to get people to click on to a video, without completely click baiting the viewer. Thanks for watching though and sharing your thoughts.

I haven’t used the AC180P, so I can’t speak to its functionality compared to the AC180 here. But the increased watt hour capacity is a bonus for sure. Bluetti has consistently been reliable for me so I’d say go for it.
