@explorebound
@explorebound 2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, they're not made in China, MRT's got their very own manufacturing operation in Vietnam now so they have full control of the quality - super happy with how refined this new one is, a noticable step-up from the older model I had on the Ranger. 👍

@@explorebound Vietnam now, they’re really gettin’ around 😁😁 mate, as long as you’re happy with it, it lasts and does what you need it to do, that’s all you can ask. Just a shame they don’t make them here but then they’d be twice the price too. I wish you well with it and can’t wait to see your clips moving forward testing it out in the bush 👍👍

Hey, nice set-up and nice tent choice 😃 my husband and I have had the same from Dune for just over a year. Just wondering if you would mind providing a bit more detail as to how it's mounted on your canopy and how your awning is attached? The sloped sides of the tent seem to make things a bit tricky and at this point we have only attached our awing to our roof rack because of it. We are now getting an MRT canopy too so we need to find a solution 😬
@explorebound
@explorebound 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Tahlia! MRT actually came up with a pretty cool solution for mounting the tent and awning, they welded metal extrusion on to the roof of the canopy that I can slide bolts into to mount stuff pretty much anywhere - that's how both the tent and the awning are mounted on mine. Another option though is using these brackets that Drifta makes, as most of the rooftop tent manufacturers use the same outer shell these should fit on the Dune tents too: www.drifta.com.au/product/reinforced-awning-bracket/

Dmax is looking mint 👌 Question, did you buy the dmax without a tray or tub at the back?
@explorebound
@explorebound Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! Yep saved a bit of money that way by not having to pay Isuzu for a tray or tub that I wasn't going to use - only downside is that it can't be registered until it has a tray so I got Isuzu to transport the vehicle to MRT and back again for registration.

Canapy looks great. The only thing it seems very high with the tent. And is that a drifta tent. If so I can't believe you went that way. All very well to be Australian made but to have no floor oh wait it's material not solid I find wrong. But all up I look forward for more upgrades..

Hi mate, the canopy has aluminium extrusion welded to the roof that bolts slide in, that's what I've mounted the tent to for a more secure fitment than using the factory mounting system that comes with these tents. 🙂

Nice one mate, I've never heard of a custom lift-off canopy and tray package for that cheap so definitely a winner. 👍 The extras definitely make the difference though, my canopy + tray alone is only about $6k so only fair to compare the final prices if yours came with undertray drawer, undertray toolboxes, remote central locking, drawer modules on the inside, spare wheel holder, jerry can holder, drop down ladder on the rear, electrics wired into the canopy, custom mounting brackets for sonar, camera etc, upgraded roof bracing for additional roof weight and custom roof rail mounting system for the tent.
