Excellent, just not sure if stainless steel as a material is really the best choice for cats. Certain studies have stated that cats may be afraid of light glare from the bottom of a stainless steel container. I myself would choose glass or well-glazed ceramic as the best material. Or plastic with food grade certification.

That's interesting. Never heard of that! Thanks for sharing. I prefer stainless steel because you can totally clean it (no bacteria build-up), it's unbreakable, it doesn't leach anything into the water (like plastic can), and my cats actually prefer the stainless steel (Rellaty) water fountain. I agree that ceramic is great, but it is more expensive, is much heavier, and can chip (which can harbor bacteria). I honestly haven't considered a glass option, but I like that idea! Will look into it. My main issue with all water fountains is that the pump is plastic. If I could remove all plastic and the impossible-to-clean nooks and crannies in the pumps, I would. But the convenience for me and the flowing water for the cats overrides my wish to remove all plastic from the system.

I don't think my mic does a good job of capturing noise levels in general and my house isn't quiet enough either. So yes, I was sharing what I experienced instead.
