ok so I've had migraines since I was a kid, and I noticed that one of the signs that my headache was about to turn into a migraine was that I would start salivating a lot, like thick spit. A few years ago I googled something like "why does my spit get thick when I have a migraine," and turns out it's our body prepping to vomit. It produces more saliva to protect our teeth from the acid in our stomach. So I guess it's not related to the migraine itself, but to the feeling of being nauseous.
