My kids were raised on this show, it was a great way to show them Star Wars. Yeah it cost me 1,000’s in Legos and I’ve got tons of boxes in my garage but it was worth it. I’m glad the show was out when it was. Some of my best memories are of watching the show w my boys. I’ll always love this show.

Elementary school for me. I was in 2nd grade when it first came out. In many ways, this was the first show I truly committed in watching and learning to understand the themes it was trying to tell. It was darker than previous shows I watched. While the show does have a lot more problems I see today that I didn’t as a kid, it still holds a special place in my heart.

I still remember vividly. One of my oldest and best buddies one day crashed my place with the very first movie, by saying. "Bro, Anakin got a padawan in this!" I still remember the smile and laugh I had imagining Anakin Skywaler as a teacher. Boy how wrong I was, and how proud I was that he finally became a master, unnoffically, but still. After watching it, and re-watching it like 10 times over, I couldn't help the love I felt for the show. I allways had a soft spot for animation shows, be that japanese anime or western animated cartoon/series. When I learned that the movie, was just the "pilot" of the entire show, I definetly shed tears. To this day, I am still watching the show, sometimes finding a reason to re-watch it again, with Hungarian Dub, or the original Englsih Dub. Yes I am 31 years old, that's how huge impact Star Wars can have on my soul, and I think I will find a reason to re-watch it when I will be 50, or even 60. For me, Star Wars is another universe i would love to escape to, to at least try out how is it to live inside that galaxy, far far away. Cheers for the video o/

At first I had trouble getting into this show, not because it is an animation, I love animations, but because at first glance those starting episodes just seemed like a kid show to me. But what a journey it has been. Last couple of episodes are so tragic and sad that I couldn't recover and stop thinking about them long after I have finished watching. The story of Ahsoka and Anakin and the story overall is so depressing. I feel bad just thinking about it even tho I love it. Peak Star Wars.

Ashoka's story is probably one of the best written character arcs in modern fiction. When she was introduced in 2008 I hated her. Then she became one of my favorites. You know, I usually don't write multiple comments on the same video, but there was just so much to cover and talk about in this amazing retrospective that I couldn't get to in my last comment, so heres comment number 2. The Clone Wars means a lot to many people, myself included. The first season came out when I was finishing middle school, so all throughout high school I watched the show every Friday on Cartoon Network and then watched the rerun the next day for Saturday mornings alongside the new episode of Pokemon, and later for season 5 the new episodes moved to Saturday mornings so I could just cut out the middle man at that. So I got to grow up alongside Ahsoka, learning as she did, and much like her in the final arc while I see many of the flaws of the Republic and Jedi I still have some faith in them and remain loyal because of all the good people I see in them fighting for whats right and just trying to help. It was the best show on Cartoon Network and it came at a good time, while Cartoon Network still had a decent amount of good shows by 2009 when the series began Cartoon Network was still no longer in its golden age which lasted from 1998 to 2007, granted I didn't start watching Cartoon Network until late 2001 to early 2002 so I was not technically there for the entire golden age but I was there enough. And during this sort of rough patch for the network The Clone Wars was a gem. I grew to love the heroic Jedi and Clones so much, which of course made what happened in Revenge of the Sith all the more tragic now. Also, 1:01:07-1:01:26: Wow, I had no idea that was subset of Star Wars Fans. Cool, I'm part of a subset. :) Also, also, I feel you're being a bit to hard and cyncial on the Battle of Yerban in the opening of the final arc. With what Anakin said about the people suffering if they waited instead of ending the battle right away implyed that the Separatists were hurting the people of Yerban and Obi-Wan and Anakin came to save them, no different then what they did for the Twe'leks in the Battle of Ryloth or the Togrua people in season 4. Given how good and kind the likes of Obi-Wan, Anakin, and their Clones are we have no reason to believe they themselves have come here to harm the people, like how Yoda and his fellow Jedi believed they were going to Kashyyyk to help the Wookies in Revenge of the Sith or how in The Bad Batch Season 2 episode where Cody and Crosshair teamed up Cody geniually believed he was going their to help the people and did everything the right way to ensure both his men and the civilans were safe just as Obi-Wan taught him. Of course, just because those on the ground think their here to do good and activly do good and try to help the people, doesn't mean those in higher up positions don't have nerfouse other purposes they haven't told those on the ground about, we see that with Kashyyyk being subjigated and Cody seeing how cruel this new Empire is, so perhaps someone in the Republic had evil plans for Yerban but they would not tell Obi-Wan, Anakin, and their Clones because they wouldn't go along with it. Most people, myself included, usually see the Battle of Yerban as one last good great moment for the Jedi and Clones, their fighting together to save people in an epic battle, the Light Side is still here to some extent, Obi-Wan and Anakin are good friends with each other and their Clones with Obi-Wan even saving Cody's life during the battle and we later get those scenes with Ahsoka reunitting with Rex and the other Clones to again show the trust and friendship between Jedi and Clones. All of this is done to make the audience feel good and remember that despite all the darkness of the Clone Wars that there is still some Light in the galaxy, but its also done to make all the stuff that happens in Revenge of the Sith even more tragic, just days ago Obi-Wan was friends with Anakin and saved Cody and then Anakin falls to the Dark Side, Cody tries to kill the man who just saved him, the Clones betray the Jedi, and anyone like the people of Yerban who the Jedi and Clones saved are now in trouble as their protectors are gone and a new Empire has risen to cause them all harm. Anakin and many others were their best selves at the Battle Yerban, but a few days later tragedy struke and they became their worst selves.

Honestly, I do not know what to make of this. Star Wars: The Clones Wars means a lot to me as well. After all, it showed me the horror of war, proving my belief that the Separatists were in the right correct, and also change my mind about democracy. Let's just say that I originally disliked democracy because of how ineffective and slow it was and also how easy it was for corrupted politicians to come into power. And while the series alone is not the reason that change my mind, it is a factor for sure. However, there is one thing all Star Wars series never even address. If democracy came to be through military force and then use as a tool of oppression by the military government, what should the people do after being fed by the military regime that democracy is just the popularity contest that allowed those with the majority of the votes to do whatever they pleased? Should all executive powers be given back to the monarchs while the public gets the proper education of what democracy really is? Should this oppressive military government be overthrown despite the fact that it came to powers via democratic election? Should the people do nothing and accept simply the new status quo and/or flee elsewhere? I said such a thing because Star Wars never featured such things like military democracy or majoritarian democracy before.

You know, at first seeing the length of the video part of me wanted to complain about having to watch such a long video, but then I saw it was a discussion on Star Wars The Clone Wars, the greatest show that has ever exist, and suddenly any argument I could make became completely invalid. Amazing video, I don't agree with everything, for one I liked the inclusion of the Inhibitor Chips and at least thanks to the Bad Batch they have become a little more naunced, and I think there always was a chance to stop Palpatine and save the Republic even during the time of the Clone Wars, it wasn't an Empire at the start and the Jedi weren't fighting for an Empire at the start, it wasn't destinyed to become an Empire the minute the war started, but Palpatine being the masterful manipulator he is manged to curve every attempt and unforseen problem when it cropped up, and just the same I feel there was a chance that Anakin wasn't going to fall to the Dark Side we saw many times during the Clone Wars, despite his Dark Side tendency that would rear their ugly head during the war that his Light Side tendencys also was present a lot during the war too both in this show and Legends, he saved many people and cared deeply about them, during the Battle of Rendili he choose not to sacrifice the prisoners onboard the Rendili flagship by destroying it and choose to cripple it instead something Oppo praised him for later about how he saved so many innocents and he was even able to reign his Dark Side in sometimes even without Obi-Wan or someone there to tell him to, like in the Battle in Legends that got him promoted to Jedi Knight, I can't remember its name you probably know it Geetsly given you did a video on it years ago which is where I learned about if from, in that battle he brock into the Separatist Muun's command room and was filled with anger ready to strike this dude down, no one else was with him so no one could stop him, but he manged to calm down by himself and not brutally kill the Muun and in the first episode of the Rako Hardem arc when he finds Obi-Wan discussed as Rako and said he wanted to kill him but want to do what Obi-Wan would have waited and do things the right way and just have him arrested, Ahsoka didn't convice him to spare Rako like she did with the Zygerrian in the first episode of the Zygerrian arc he came to that descion on his own. Ultimatly the Clone Wars show shows us the true tragedy of Anakin's fall to the Dark Side, like you said we the audience and others like Obi-Wan, Padme, Ahsoka, Rex and many others saw him as a good man, so its tragic that such a good noble man becomes such a monster due to a combination of his own characters flaws, the pressures of war, and the manipluations of mad man. Also, 41:03-41:16: Okay, I feel like that argument doesn't work, in that arc the Zygerrians were evil monsters who were enslave and hurting innocent people, Anakin butching them would probably be seen as a good thing by the Jedi, espically since Plo Koon and Obi-Wan also killed Zygerrians during that fight. Heck many fans probably cheered when Rex killed that one Zygerria who smuggly told Obi-Wan, "A Jedi won't kill an unarmed man." Sure its technically not noble to kill an unarmed foe but that guys was an evil jerk who just five seconds ago set up a death trap to kill the Togura people and then proceed to destroy the controls to make sure Obi-Wan and Rex couldn't stop, and then he tries to hide behind a technicallitly of the Jedi Code so he doesn't get whats coming to him, so Rex doing it is completely justified. If you wanted a better argument you should have mentioned Anakin butching Umbaras during the Battle of Umbara, while I still think the Republic invasion was partically justified it still would have been a better argument then the Zygerrians because they are not innocent by any definition of the word. Also, also, love the segment of Loyalty and Loss, really explains why me and many other fans are still loyal to the Republic even after all this time, because were loyal to those good people fighting for good and trying to help people like Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Ppadme, Plo Koon, many other good Jedi, Rex, Cody, many other good Clones, even Anakin to a lesser extent. Also, nice mention on why we still like Hondo despite him being a villain, because he at least has some loyalty and comradery with his men like the Team Rocket TRio from Pokemon, sure he's a bad guy but he has standards and isn't a completely monster unlike Sidious. I espcially liked you talking about the difference between loyalty to authority and personal loyallty to others, as I mentioned somethign similar in you're long form video on Republic Commandos a few weeks ago. I beleive that is the most important lesson of the Clone Wars the importance of loyalty to those that deserve it and that is what I took away from it. However, I would argue that despite his betrayal at the end Rex is still loyal to the Republic, the true Republic, he echos this later in Bad Batch when Hunter says the Republic is dead and he replies, "Not all of it. Were still here. Others are out there too." and later in Rebels, "My loyalty was to the Republic, not you're Empire." I feel the same way, for some who fought the Empire they were fighting for the Republic to restore it after all the corruption turned it into an Empire.

Please make a video about all 10 unfinished The Clone Wars story arcs. We lost 40 episodes because of Disney's cancellation of the show. These could have been some of the best arcs and episodes in the show, such as: 1) The Bounty Hunter arc, where Boba Fett gets his armor and spaceship, and confronts Cad Bane, killing him. Thus, he becomes the new best bounty hunter. 2) Crystal Crisis on Utapau, where Anakin and Obi-Wan discover a giant kyber crystal for the Death Star. Grievous is also depicted in a very epic way in this arc. 3-4) Dark Disciple + Saving Vos (two arcs), where Ventress teams up with Quinlan Vos and fights Dooku and Grievous on Raxus. Then Quinlan is captured and Ventress, Obi-Wan, and Anakin rescue him. Ventress ends up dying saving Quinlan from the Dark Side. 5) Yoda and the Bad Batch on Kashyyyk, which explains why Yoda has good relations with the Wookiees in RoTS. It also shows Echo's early days in Clone Force 99. 6) The Son of Dathomir arc, where Maul escapes Sidious' prison, teams up with Mandalorians and Nightbrothers, and confronts Sidious, Dooku, and Grievous. Maul was revealed to be Mother Talzin's son and she eventually died saving him. Grievous was also epic. He killed Mother Talzin and a lot of Mandalorians. 7) The Sith Shrine arc, where Ahsoka, Anakin, and Obi-Wan go to the Sith Temple underneath the Jedi Temple. This arc continues the Jedi's investigation into Sidious' identity, and explains that the Dark Side aura from the Sith Temple prevented the Jedi from realizing that Sidious was Palpatine. Also, in this arc, Sidious attacks the Holocron Vault in the Jedi Temple. 8) Rex and R2's arc, in which they crash land on a moon of Ryloth and reprogram a super battle droid. This arc is likely where Rex first meets Gregor. 9) The Yuuzhan Vong arc, in which these dangerous EU creatures arrive from another galaxy and hijack a Venator cruiser to estimate the Republic's forces. 10) Padmé's arc on Mon Cala, in which she tries to rally opposition against Palpatine. This was the end of all political arcs in the show. It's also an adaptation of the RoTS deleted scenes of Padmé and the Senators uniting against Palpatine. The more people know about this loss, the more likely it is that maybe, just maybe, one day we will finally get these arcs finished.

the 2003 CW was gr8 but so was 2008. i would have loved to see son of dathomir and dark disciple animated tho. I rly wanted to see an interaction between anakin and maul tho.

Tbh I find the whole "mature for a kids cartoon" aspect to be somewhat exaggerated. Clone Wars js a good show but it had a fair bit of goofy episodes and "filler" episodes, the final few episodes of season 7 felt like a totally differnt show tonally. Its more like it has some dark moments sprinkled around but I wouldn't really call the whole show adult.

It's a baby show that manchildren refuse to acknowledge as such because they dont want to admit they are man children

It's definitely not for mature audiences, I enjoyed this show then I grew up and realised just how bad it was

@JacktheStripper-tc5pn There's a fair bit of bad and corny stuff in this show I'll be honest, even past the first few seasons. I didnt grow up with the show, only saw that awful movie since I didn't have cable or streaming services. I watched it for the first time this year and...I found it kinda overhyped. When the show is good it's really good, but there's quite a bit of mediocre or straight up bad in there too where the "kid show" aspects are most apparent. I will say that the final few episodes of season 7 are legitimately amazing and make me wish for a Star Wars movie/show with that tone though. I like that the show made the clones into actual characters, and dealt with more mature topics but sometimes I just couldn't take it seriously

@@eonamiella2124 The reason the show is so popular is because it's target audience is man-children, it's a kids show that shoves in "mature" and "heavy" themes and then they start talking about how nuanced their one dimensional slop cartoon is
@JacktheStripper-tc5pn8 күн бұрын
@@eonamiella2124 The clones not having personalities is just false, each clone had to earn their personality through experience in battle and with their Jedi generals. TCW makes them all slightly unique for no reason and I'd argue that the clones in TCW are actually extremely one dimensional and boring

The deleted scene of Bane and Revan manipulating rhe Son to fall further into the Dark Side supports your reading of the episode. Remember: that scene was only cut because George Lucas insisted that Sith could not persist as spirits in that way.

The fact that the Republic is an empire before officially being declared as such as a great historical parallel. Most of Rome's imperial expansion happened during the days of the Roman Republic.

The more you deny the necessity of the darkside, the more necessary it becomes. All things live, and all things die. Without the ambition to defeat another, life cannot exist.
