Hi Dave. Excellent comparison video. I really appreciate your description of the nuances and differences of each release. I have the Miles 2LP, the Bernie cut and the 3CD but haven’t had the time to do a proper comparison yet myself. Thanks for the heads up on the cassette. Thanks for your review. 👍🏻

Thanks for a greatly detailed review on all the different versions available. You've bought all the different versions so we don't have to 😄. I'm in agreement with you that all Miles Showell pressings sound fat to me, which is quite frustrating, especially on the Beatles releases. Your comment at the end about wishing for a 15ips reel to reel version doesn't make sense to me, as its source is from digital, so why not make your own from digital?

Haha, good point. Kinda said it on the spur of the moment, but I’d bet a proper mastering engineer could make a better tape from, say, the final mix, than I could do myself.

@@DaveDenyer That's also a good point about a mastering engineer getting best out of it!

Comparison to the different vinyl releases apart, surely this is more a comparison of your kit capabilities rather than the actual mix or master? You say yourself that you do not play digital at home by choice, so presumably you’ve spent far more money on you vinyl playback than anything else. If that’s correct then it’s obviously not a level playing field. Whilst your comparisons on the vinyl is interesting, everything else is surely invalid.

That’s a very valid point. I have spent more on my analogue sources but I’ve also got (in my opinion at least) a very good digital source. I’ve had all manner of high end DACs etc at home and use what is my favourite set-up. I do play digital media when it sounds better than the analogue LP version, or if there is no analogue version at all. Thanks for the feedback Simon, cheers!
