The Ultimate Daily Driver? // BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe

The BMW that is never talked about. This is the second fastest BMW produced, yet it is hardly known. Do I think it's worth the price tag? It depends on if you want a daily driver that'll do a quarter mile in 10.7 seconds.

"Why is nobody talking about this car." Price and competition. For what you pay for one of these, a lot of other cars enter the picture that either perform the same, better, or offer more utility. BMW's own M5 CS offers similar performance in a very nice looking 4 door.

M5 CS is limited production, way stiffer suspension, carbon seats. Not a real daily competitor at all. M8 Gran Coupe is a more stylish M5. What your sacrifice in rear seat headroom you gain in a more stylish offering. I’ve had both the current M5 and a M8 Competition GC. I’ve also owned the E63s and RS7. All are great, but I keep going back to BMW.

It’s a blast to drive. The throttle response is almost instant and the interior feels like a sporty 7 series. A solid design from BMW for sure.

What would you pick? BMW M8 or a Taycan GTS? I drove and like both. M8 wins in interior looks, GTS wins in exterior looks

I absolutely love the Taycan GTS, but the range wouldn’t be enough for me. If I had to pick a Taycan, it would be the GTS Sport Turismo. So between the BMW and Porsche, I would choose the M8. I would choose a Model S Plaid over the M8 though if I was buying an EV.

Absolutely. The value to me is a better deal with the AMG GT63. I will say, the M8 makes a statement when you pull up because of the size.
