There are very few good resources for DE on KZbin and s specifically Data Modelling and System Design for DE is not available at all in KZbin. It will great for all if you start teaching on KZbin.❤ And if you need help to curate teaching content I an free to help as i have worked with some know KZbinrs in teaching field.

Amazing video. Quick question. In the data modelling question, do we need to create a database or a data warehouse? I see you create entities and relationships (ER diagrams) but you also listed Facts and Dims but didn’t create any snowflake or star schema. Little confused. Could help me understand what is really expected from this question
@JashRadia10 сағат бұрын
It is generally an OLAP data warehouse modeling. You will use snowflake or star as per requirement or hybrid as well. If you see my ED diagram, I am using hybrid in this case.

Jash is a life saver for Data Engineers... It's so difficult to get mentoring for DE... Im planning to learn AWS but I'm confused whether i should do it first or after System Design preparation. What do you recommend i start first? System design or AWS certification?
@JashRadia5 күн бұрын
Learning aws is a prerequisite for system design, so I'd say aws certification should be first.
@PraveenKumarBN5 күн бұрын
@@JashRadia Ok, then AWS Solutions Architect Certi first and then system design.

Can you recommend a book that will help us get strong from a system design perspective?
@JashRadia5 күн бұрын
The 4 resources mentioned in the videos are much better way to learn system design than a book, but if you like books may be check out designing data intensive applications. The problem i have with that book is it's too lengthy

Hey! I’m currently in school studying MIS, I’m thinking of going to an analyst role for a couple years but then pivoting to data engineering… is that feasible? Of course self learning along the way will be essential.

I am currently working in finance and want to switch to data engineering. If I have the correct skills will they be open to interview someone with a different background and 10 years of experience
@JashRadia5 күн бұрын
You need highlight directly or indirectly how your experience used data somehow to make an impact at your work. You will also need a couple of really good projects, but yet it's possible. You might not get L5 level which is common at 10 YOE but if you're okay with down leveling to L4, it is possible. Overall if you go into a good company, downleveling won't matter much and you'll still make good money in the long run. I will also recommend trying for data analyst profile, get 2 YOE and then go to DE profile, which is much more technical.

@JashRadia thank you so much! And for the DA role I should concentrate on Python (DSA - array and strings), Pandas, SQL, and Power BI?
@JashRadia5 күн бұрын
@@dhruvg530 sql, data visualization, data modeling, etc are more important. Dsa is much easier or non existent in some companies.

Focus on the points mentioned in this video for interview related tops. also do a good project (solving something unique) and a certification and then look for referrals. You don't need to wait for 2 years. Try applying after 1 year
