LOL i don't think you need to clear up anything, from a game stats perspective he's a very physical character which probably don't have enough points to distribute into intelligence anyway. Then from the anime perspective on a scene where Maine was surrounded by police and on the edge of cyberpsychosis, Lucy was smart enough to know it's dumb trying to save him but david....dumb enough to try and fail.

I actually don't think David was "intelligent". He was good at school sure, but he made really dumb decisions. And in the context of the game, intelligence is purely hacking intelligence which David doesn't have at all

David was smart academically, but the combination of living in poverty, being bullied at school and losing his mother drove him into making reckless and stupid decisions. All this happening when he was barely out of his teens probably didn't help either. He's a protagonist you root for, but he's also meant to be an example of how easily one can be swallowed up by the neon hell world that is the Cyberpunk universe. Even those showing the most promise.

How come so many builds completely ignore heat converter. It makes you immune to burn damage and increases your dmg done.

My guess is because the heat converter implant takes up the slot that you could put subdermal armor in (which is dumb: you have three slots, one for subdermal, one for heat converter, and one for optic camo if you wanted it, yet it won't let you slot heat converter without replacing subdermal armor)

There's a sandy in the game that slows time to 25% and has only a 12 second cooldown and lasts longer, or something along the lines. I think how often David can use the Sandevistan, I think that could be a better fit for the show accurate build. But you'd be skipping 15% of additional time slow down and some passive buffs while the effect is active. But which is better, Sandy once every 12 seconds at 10% or Sandy at 25% all of the time of every day with a cooldown as short as 3 seconds or lower.

Yea had the idea to create a hybrid build based off David and Lucy’s characters and can’t lie pairing a 25% sandy with a 2 second cool time paired along a monowire/projectile launcher is just insane especially considering I have perks to pair along with slowing down time when I’m being detected, dodging after landing a strike and sliding into an enemy to attack playing on very hard i obliterate everything

the problem with the 12 seconds Warp Dancer is that its apparently bugged and doesn't allows you to do anything other than heavy melee attacks with things like knives or fists iirc. For example, assuming you'd want to do the same as the original owner of the Sandy before he died, you'd have to get the Warp Dancer to slow down everything to a near complete stop and then pop a bullet into everyone during it. However, for some reason, it doesn't allows you to fire off more than one, maybe two revolver shots within those 12 seconds. It also doesn't allows you to fire more than one shotgun blast, and if you're using Guts, it even roots you in place.

In order to get it down to a 3 second wait time, you must craft legendary heatsync components, and in order to craft legendary components, you need way more than 5 levels in tech

You know what’s great about melee while building this, if you’re playing on the higher difficulty you can tackle harder jobs with lesser difficulty by staggering them with your lightning fast attacks

If you get max reflex early and upgrade the melee perks, you’ve got an early OP build. 1-2 shoots and any enemy is dead , while most bosses get killed in a single cycle.

Btw if you want to use a variation of David's handgun, you could grab Skippy, the AI-built-in version of that weapon. Pretty sure it's typically stronger and comes as Epic when you pick up. Also I just feel like double jump and Sandy are too good especially if you're not gonna netrun. It literally makes you god level..

Skippy is a smart pistol, not like David's at all. He had a purple Lexington that Maine gave him, only a power pistol. You can get a mod that adds it in the game though if youd like

@@thebondofunity check this article out (not sure how credible) but the HKJE-11 is what David used several times throughout the show. Skippy is a variant of that. He STARTED with the Lexington before he got a lot of his cyber upgrades and became more experienced. So......Skippy is quite like David's pistol :)

Would definitely recommend replacing the Fireproof Coating with the Heat Converter. Does exactly the same thing, except it makes you deal 10% more damage when on fire (you still take no damage from it). Only downside to it is you need more Cool to use it, but at 20 Cool you have more than enough.

I would argue that a David Martinez build should focus primarily around the Sandevistan and using it as much as possible, as often as possible. Dumping Tech is something I wouldn't do, in fact you want at least an 18 in Tech for legendary crafting, since that's the only way to get legendary Sandevistan Heatsinks. You'll need at least a 15 in Reflexes to get the Qian Sandevistan MK.4 from Fingers. It has the fastest cooldown of any Sandevistan implant, and adding 3 legendary Sandevistan Heatsinks will drop the cooldown to only 3 seconds. Getting the legendary Bioconductor will shave that down to only 2 seconds of cooldown between uses, giving you that near instant cooldown that David appears to have. I personally have been playing this build with the addition of an 18 in Body and the legendary Gorilla Arms with Animal Knuckles, and it's pretty god-like. Enemies can barely get any hits on you when you're always in slo-mo, and go down pretty easy when you just run up and punch their heads in.

Solid setup. Got some adjustments. The last two points in Body and Reflexes are kind of unnecessary if you're not worried about missing out on the lv20 perks, so you can leave those off. I also specced into Tech up to 18 for the better crafted heatsinks. At minimum Int that gives you up to 14 Cool, so you miss out on some of the higher tier perks but you only really need them to keep you alive while you're not Sandevistaning, which is not an issue because you're using the QianT MK4. Now David's Sandy is indeed top of the line, but Smasher calls it a "basic piece of military cyberware", so I take that to mean it's Legendary but not Iconic like the Warpdancer. Since the MK4 has half again the duration and half the cool down time of the MK5, stacking up nanorelays, legendary heatsinks and the bioconductor gives you a 14 second Sandevistan boost with just over 2 seconds of cooldown. It's a STAGGERING proportion of uptime, and I think a lot closer to the rapid-fire Sandevistan use we see from David in the show.

Instead of dumping the remaining points into Tech, dump them into Int so you can get the Limbic System Enhancement and Visual Cortex Support commons to give you a little extra Crit Chance and Crit Damage. Swap out the two in Immune System for Metabolic Editor and Inductor to make Poison and Shock buff you instead of damage you, and grab Heat Converter instead of Fireproof Coating since it converts Burn into a buff for you as well. This'll let you completely ignore all the debuffs except bleeding, which could be fixed by swapping the Optical Camo for Supra-Dermal Weave. These are cyberware I slot in every build I make that has 14 or more cool. Personally I would take the Microvibration Generator instead of Dense Marrow since it doesn't have the stamina cost but still boosts melee weapon base damage. Even though the Qiant mk 4 only drops speed to 25% instead of the 10% of the Warp Dancer, with 3 heat sinks you can drop its cooldown to next to nothing so you can spam activate it like David seems to. Personally I would go with the mk 4 because I prefer lower downtime over the extra speed, but to each their own.

Those points were getting dumped into Tech, which gave no benefit to the build whatsoever since the Target Analysis exploit was patched out. Dumping those into int to get 2 mods that will actually boost damage output, even if it's just a little bit, is better than 2 empty cyberware slots and 5 wasted attribute points.

​@@louiesatterwhite3885 1here are mods that grant immunity to each status effect, but there are three drawbacks to them: 1) They grant immunity, they don't turn the debuff into a buff. 2) They use up armor slots that you could be using for Armadillo, Fortuna, Bully, Tenacity, or Deadeye, all of which would be more beneficial than a straight immunity mod. 3) This build can't craft, meaning even though you can buy the schematics for all the immunity mods, you wouldn't be able to craft any of them since they are all epics. Meaning you would have to rely on loot drops and crates to find them. I'd rather take the Cyberware that turns the debuffs into buffs, leaving the armor slots available for any Armadillos or damage boosting mods that might be found, rather than rely on random drops for just immunity and no buff.

Oh, and about Sandy (11:15). I'm pretty sure it's a militech one, since it was said that it is 'military-grade', and militech has it in the name. On ther other hand, since David basically uses Sandevistan seemingly without cooldown, it may be more appropriate to use 'Qiant Sandevistan' (12 sec duration with 15 seconds cooldown; slap cooldown addons on that and it's as close to no cooldown Sandy as it gets).

I just wish we could have fist-fighting gloves like David uses. An equippable weapon that buffs your knuckles and would still let you use the projectile launch system. I’ve never actually used the projectile launch system, but after seeing it utilized so well in the anime I’m definitely going to have to try it when I make my version of the David build.

Unfortunately ingame PLS is absolutely worthless. It used to be busted because of the tranquilizer rounds letting you just spam to instant knockout entire squads, and cdpr nerfed it to have a cooldown so you couldnt spam. It also doesnt benefit from any stats or perks, so the damage on the shots is pathetic.

Despite having over 3000 hours in that game, i never explored the Sandy route. Had multiple playthroughs and at some point always find myself along the Netrunner path with quick hacks, hacking everything in sight. Now i started my probably 20th playthrough and this time i'm sticking to Sandy and omg... even at stage 1 this thing is a beast. But i think i'll stop Body and Reflexes at 18 and Cool probably even lower, since most of the badass perks don't require actually max level and instead pour some points into Tech so i can craft items or Intelligence, so i can get additional Crit Dmg. One thing is for sure - Mantis Blades for me all the way boy. Gorilla Arms are good for Beat on the Brat, but after that quest line is finished, Mantis Blades will be regularly switched with Nanowire.

That's why , if you're going for sandy gun build , you spec in tech - get quasar revolver, start charging while aiming at smbds head , enable sandy and all you need to do is just not to let up lmb and keep changing targets. Either that or some specd the fuck up , relatively fast shooting gun with high headshot multiplier like nova or nue or even johnnys gun, everything at point blank of course for added spectacle and to negate the low-bullet-velocity-for-power-guns-in-sandy problem

Maybe go with 20 Body/18 Tech/15 Reflex/12 Cool OR 18 Body/18 Tech/15 Reflex/14 Cool. Use Qiant Mk4 with 3 Heatsinks for spammable sandy. Personally I think its fine to dump tech since all its really good for is crafting.

As OP as this build already is, one change I would suggest is opting for Heat Converter over Fireproof Coating on Integumentary System. You wont take damage from burning and you increase damage by 10% when on fire. Not necessary but if you could have it then why not.

I much prefer this version of David’s build vs KhrazeGamings build. Very nice. The amount of slowdown David has is absolutely nuts and this feels just right from watching it. I’ll probably do a variation of this with either mantis blades or Katana and keep the launcher instead of gorilla arms.

I'm currently running a Sandy Street Samurai Build (Katana and two Punk Knives, 2 second cooldown on the Sandy which is a Qiant Mk4 from Fingers) and I say one thing, Sandy and Katana is awesome, so you're right there. Ranged and Berserk works better IMO, Sandy and Melee is a hella lot of fun.

If you wanna be even more OP (and can use nexusmods), theres a mod on NM that allows you to buy an "Arasaka Mk6 Sandevistan" which slows time to 4% and has a 16 sec duration/cooldown. Just incase you feel like 10% is still too fast and wanna feel like a true edgerunner cyberpsycho.

My build is mainly katana based and uses cold blood and cyberware to keep regenerating my health, slowing down time, and doing AoE when I get hit. I can regularly go cyberpsycho and kill cops for 20 minutes before finally someone does a bit too much damage or I dip. Completed don't fear the reaper without having to use a health boost.

9:18 I do overall prefer vanilla in general if if comes from anywhere sanitary and especially so if it's from an ice cream truck. Those ice cream sandwiches go hard too but still. Now I do also love mint chocolate chip but only because ONE, singular company managed to make it taste incredible, they made it taste better than their vanilla somehow. It also made my breath taste good too which is an accomplishment in it's own.

if you are on pc you can install this mod called ''arasaka sandevistyan ''hashinshin mk6 prototype" which on a literal way makes you become DIO, it slows down time to 4% for 16 seconds and the cooldown is 8 seconds (which can be reduced if you use the heatsink cyberware mod) bad thing about this one is that due to how OP it is it costs a lot more that any cyberware and it even costs more than mosts of the obtaniable cars in the game (if not all) costing 245000 edies also, this sandevistan only works with melee weapons since the slowmo also affects weapon's movements so using a gun with this cyberware is worse than hell

There is a better Sandevistan in Japan Town that you can buy it from Fingers before mission with Judy. QianT Sandevistan Mk.4 from him for 28,000 Eurodollars. 27 Street Credit. This Sandevistan is the most powerful one available thanks both to its low cooldown (15 seconds by default), and its three mod slots, which allows you to install the powerful Heatsink mod 3 times. The best Heatsink mod will reduce the Sandevistan's cooldown by 4 seconds, so with 3 Heatsinks installed, the cooldown is lowered to a ridiculously small 3 seconds.

finished the game twice, both time was building an average katana kerenzikov slicer with shotgun and sniper rifle (the smart one - one shot one kill). Just now have watched the anime, really wanna rebuild my last V to a sandy David, but i guess will have to use some sort of cheats to make my V strong, fast and cool, but dumb from mine 20/20 intelligence and 20/20 techs
