Purple was skilled at the game of Risk. I'm not speculating about where they get their paycheck. With a good active ally I wouldn't care whether I got 1st or 2nd either. The best part of the game of Risk.

Sure you know this, but the reason to roll down the stacks even when low is so you get the positive roll. Rolling down the 25 to 1 will go from -4 to +4 so is an 8 troop swing.

To be technical, the way the dice work isn’t true to any kind of accurate simulation. Instead, there’s an estimation algorithm that’s used which sometimes gives realistic results, sometimes not at all.
