One thing I do before taking a shot is marking the spot where the animal is, if it managed to run away i also make a marker of where it went after 50-100 meters. This way you won't lose a deer you shot yet can't find. Comparing it to real life, you could say you "memorise" where you shot it and where it went.

@@BruhMomentGeneratorUwU You can use a golfpro styled rangefinder with a GPS parser medium IRL for under $200 bucks. So it is possible IRL. it's been used that way IRL for almost a decade now, maybe longer. Surely a hunting game in modern times using modern equipment should accomidate that.

On the aging portion of the video, not sure if the devs didn't take this in consideration or if someone told you wrong but longer sun exposure to antlers would not be a determining factor on "aging" the deer. Mule deer and whitetail shed their antlers every year so it is not like older bucks antlers are exposed to the sun longer than younger bucks. Where I hunt it is mainly the time of year when the bucks rub their velvet off that determines the white vs dark coloring of the antlers. Early season freshly rubbed antlers are white, later season they are darker. Great video though!!

Roe Deer caller definitely works. I'm at the beginning, haven't killed the 6lbs of pheasants for that mission yet but got the caller. Roes will come right up to you for easy kills. Don't call too soon, wait until the bar on the screen gets to the thick part of the bar, 15 to 20 seconds before calling again.

Dude this was very helpful! After 4 days playing, I was still having trouble understanding the genetics and aging of the animals (which animals/when to cull in a heard/pack). It is sooo cool to see they made a very good job with the antlers and trophies, so you can see in the field which bucks are the best to kill. I wanna see a bigger magnification spotting scope like in the Hunter Classic. I use it all the time. 40x spotting scope or something like that....it would be very useful here too. One thing what we really need yet (maybe the creators will put in the game later) is the BOW. I looooooooooove the bowhunting in the Classic and in the COTW as well. And treestands, feeders... it`s a beautiful and so realistic hunting game.

Technically, if you enable the slow walking mode you can walk with the hunter sense on before getting the perk. It is a bit slow but workable. The perk allows you to use it while walking at normal speed.

I love this game, though one thing that bugs the heck out of me is that you HAVE to use the binoculars to get info on the animals, whereas in Hunter: COTW you can get the info using rifle scopes as well. It's odd. "Hey, I can zoom in MUCH better with this scope, but I have no clue WTF I am looking at because I am not using the crappy Binos that do not show anything really at all due to poor zoom." It's been my experience that callers work when you can see or hear the animal. Like in real life, you gotta know when and how often to use it. Using it wrong will drive them away or they'll just ignore you altogether.

I shot a black beat 6 times with that 2nd rifle u get. First shot hit the spine, it charged me from 250 ft. I hit it again in the lungs, but that last shot #6 hit the intestine, that stopped it. This game is awesome! Do they have Grizz??

Dunno if the headshot tip is correct. I've been headshotting stuff left right and center and the trophies haven't been ruined in most cases. (only ones that do get ruined are the ones where the trophy is the skull itself, likes foxes, bears, and wolves)

I agree mostly. I will counter with get the calls and start calling early. You need to level them up and you might as well get started. Deer, fox, and Elk are easy to call.

12:27 Not just sad, it is not realistic. If he survived first shot and continue to grow, trophy rating should be at the time you actually killed him. Some veterans came from war with a bullet in their head or body, doctors can't take it out, and when they die, they die as old persons, not as 20yr old boy when they took the shoot.

I have a question. Hope you know to clarify for me. Gray Wolf is tier 5, I shot two of them with a Remington 783 (.243) which is for tier 5 animals, and got one star Hunt Rating, and the meat was almost all ruined, like it was overpowered. Shots were between 50 - 100 meters. Do you know why?

There are so many more guns here i get wanting to change ammo but if you use the proper firearm seems like a small complaint also there are more then 2 after market scopes COTW has been out for 5 plus years with only 2 scopes i mean come on.
