*This is it, the finale of the Prologue Campaign for Total War Warhammer 3! Will The Prince of Kislev find his god or uncover the ultimate deception?*

The sad thing about watching a leader fall to the ruinous powers is not just their corruption, but the fact they betray and drag down the men and women who followed them. Yuri's actions led him astray, doomed his men, and in the end, betrayed the very god they set out to save, and he can't even see that everything that happened was his own fault.

Exactly, even Be'lakor gets angry when he keeps insisting that he did the right thing. You know you've gone bad when a self-serving megalomaniac on his level is disgusted by your insistence that you didn't do it just because you liked it.

Awesome work - the story made me realize it wasnt Yuri who kept faith, it was his brother who also was Yuri's last voice of reason.

@yehiahuzayyin79722 жыл бұрын
54:04 You know what the creepiest thing about Be'lakor in this sequence is? Nothing he actually says is wrong. Sure, he gives unreliable opinions, twists the truth into a pretzel, but he never actually lies to Yuri. He tells him the truth, and lets him find his own way to Hell.
@ShadowGhost01172 жыл бұрын
It’s always amazing to see Chaos manipulate in such subtle ways. It’s just like in Warhammer 40,000 during the Horus Heresy, when the Chaos Gods show Horus the visions of the future that cause him to turn. They never actually lied, just told a partial truth (basically just leaving out key details on how things would lead to such a future).

You know what’s more tragic about this is that yuri actually had a implied romance with katarin so when the 2 will eventually meet again, she’ll have to force herself to bury her emotions even more upon realizing what he’s become or when ursun tells her what happened.
@mattiaslime89263 жыл бұрын
He ascended to demonhood. The old yuri is gone now he is only a fervent servant of the dark gods there is no return from that

i honestly hope they bring that up at some point in katarin's campaign. considering that her father is "dead," her god is dying, half of her country hates her, and her lover became a daemon, she seems remarkably emotionally stable.

I just got to thinking that this campaign reminded me of Heart of Darkness... and other stories inspired by it... namely Apocalypse Now! and Spec Ops: The Line. I mean the main antagonist of this campaign is named Slavin Kurnz... Kurnz does sound a lot like Kurtz... the surname of both the ivory trader villain in Heart of Darkness and Colonel Kurtz, the villain of Apocalypse Now! As for Spec Ops: The Line... its protagonist is a lot like Yuri... he ventured into the situation with good intentions. He wanted to be the hero. He wanted to save the day. But the deeper into the wasteland he went, the more he came to be the very monster he swore to destroy. Damn, man... I never expected writing of this calibre in a Total War game... especially not in the tutorial! I just wish there was a way to experience the narrative without being slowed down by the tutorial.

How does a pistol kill a giant bear god?
@lugen39663 жыл бұрын
i think it's implied that renouncing ursun is what gave it so much power. that, and i'm sure be'lakor put a bit of extra punch into it.
@a0point0of0view13 жыл бұрын
Ursan isn't dead from the pistol shot but dying, Since Be'lakor was cursed by the chaos gods to exist as shadow, he probably wants to syphon power from Ursan to fuel his return to power, he probably set up the whole situation to get someone chaos infused enough to give Ursan a mortal wound, Slavin was probably minipulated similarly as Yuri and convinced by "Ursan" that he needed to protect that place until he was strong (corrupted) enough
@MC-yt1uv3 жыл бұрын
The implication is that this was a massive ritual that Be'lakor set up. If a simple gunshot would have worked Be'lakor could have gotten Johnny Generic to do it. Instead, he needed to corrupt and fill a faithful follower of Ursun with the power of Chaos. And have that follower renounce his faith as he fired the shot. The bullet was just the last piece of a much larger magical event.
@primkup3 жыл бұрын
Oh, but why to ask, when you already know the answer? Because Ursun is a false god, unworthy of Kislev! Unworthy of the wrath of its men and grace of its women. He's nothing but an overgrown beast, undeserving of any worship, for how can he help his loyal flock when he can't even help himself? Pathetic. Perhaps a wise man such as you should reconsider his allegiance, and achieve his true potential with the help of...someone else. Someone darker in nature and far more powerful.
