So this goes alot of ways….this tip comes in handy when you player the people who dribble behind the screen but if the player using the screen just keeps running, most times you can easily switch but if they are trying to make you switch for a mismatch, you can just go under the screen or fight thru and have your teammate show heavy / hedge heavy until you get in position again…its really situational tactics when screens are being used lol

When you play the lane do you press the steal buttton (X or square) also at what point do you press it? I never seem to get lane steals like a lot of other people

I only use square….and you just have to reach once the ball is close to your player lol…or you have to reach when you think your player is gonna be able to steal it yk….your not gonna be a lane hawk in a day lol…its corny to say but it takes practice

If you’re nervous about how you’ll perform, work on passing the ball around and being a pass first player. If you’re sharing the ball, it’s less likely your teammates will be upset if you take shots and miss

That’s good advice above, I also would include working on your basketball iq by watching film of how the game is played as well as the rules and regulations of the game so you can have a better understanding of how the game works. If not basketball film another good suggestion is watching comp 2k content as well as casual 2k content to understand how 2k works because it’s not realistic at the end of the day so certain stuff you learn on 2k is based solely off viewing it from a 2k source. I also would include a plus to watching film would be learning how to dribble and trying to emulate nba players or watching dribble guides the same way you are viewing this defense guide. After time you can hit the lab and work on your own creations if you feel like being a dribble god. At the end of the day KZbin and tik tok university is your best friend. You are doing good so far by stumbling across this video, this is really good techniques to learn from to make you better at defense. Shoutout this KZbinr for making this banger
