THIS is the stuff I love to see. Screw the meta, we play whats fun in this house! I've always genuinely had more fun playing mid to low tier characters and forcing them into roles they're not "Supposed" to be in. Theres something just satisfying about playing a game "Wrong". Especially when you find that niche moment all the Meta characters struggle with, but yours counters.

Also I'm pulling sub stats as often as I can but I can't get crit damage over 140 😭 and my rate is 60 🤦‍♂️😂 the damage ones never seem to get the +2 lol I'll keep grinding and enjoy these videos in the meantime 👍

Thank you! I'm glad to help! The crit ratio is pretty ideal, but you should try to replace those pen disks if you want to fully optimize. Pen% is almost always less effective than DMG%, so there is room for improvement, even if you lose a few crit rolls in the process. I suggest farming for Woodpecker and Soul Rock as those are the best 2pc options with Inferno Metal, and potentially work towards a 4pc Woodpecker set.

Thx for the guide! I was literally just looking for smth like this a couple days ago lol I happened to get Steel Cushion but idk whether to fully commit since I’m running 4 fire + 2 def (Def for slot 5&6) w his sig engine, I feel like I would have to change his slot 5 to fire damage & 6 to atk if I were to use the Steel Cushion, I have the resources since I haven’t rlly pulled for many characters so I might just make a couple sets for him and test around lol, anything for Ben ❤

Well, until Big Cylinder and M2 gets fixed, that set basically just for base attack. You could benefit a lot from Steel Cushion for higher base attack and crit if you work on the other set.

Yeah, it's generally good practice to have enough energy ready for the EX follow-up for whenever it's needed or optimal, rather than spend it asap and potentially not be able to use EX specials.

how well do you think burnice works with him? I was planning on having them together but once i found out that burnice is more specialized in disorder comps, ive just been using him as a regular stunner. i would really like to try him as main dps though

You certainly could use Burnice with Ben as a support to improve the Inferno Metal set, but I don't recommend pulling her for that alone.

Would you still say to go Woodpecker over Inferno even with Ben, Lucy & Burnice? Ben on Neko's sig. Lucy with her sig R5, & Burnice with Sig. As i'm confused how the 18% attack that you get from woodpecker beats out 28% crit in a scenario where you can ensure 100% uptime, the only downside i can imagine is that you can get too much crit? I can't really see him struggling with attack values either, I'm pretty sure that team should have more than enough burn application, that you are probaly even hitting the ICD and wasting your applications. Eventually there is also rocketboo to add for this team, surely with that 100% uptime on burn should be possible? Burnice could also probaly even go for Hyperburn here, herself. Definetely a team i consider building once i finish my other character. Love your vids and thanks for the breakdown!

That team should work and Inferno Metal would be a good choice for that team to an extent. At a certain point, crit rate becomes less valuable the closer you get to 100%. For example, let's assume Ben starts with 3300 attack. Ben at 4600 ATK (2 stacks + Cheer on!) and 75:150 crit ratio, would start to perform better than Ben at 3900 ATK (no stacks + Cheer On!) and 100:150. The Combat attack from woodpecker starts to outweight the crit rate from inferno metal in that scenario. In other words, Inferno Metal is strong if you have low crit rate.

I hadn't heard of the concept of crit value before, that is really interesting! I want to ask, how does the attack stat factor into it? I have a few agents that have what could be good crit value, but their attack is on the 1600 to 2000 range

Attack is somewhat affected by diminishing returns, but that also means it also can bring a larger improvement than DMG% multipliers at lower values. For example, the damage improvement from 2000 and 2400 is 20%, but the improvement from 3000 and 3400 is 13%. You want to increase your attack stat until it would be better to focus on improving your damage multipliers instead, like crit value. If you can supply plenty of attack for your main DPS in combat through supports, it's okay to have a low base attack and high crit value.

Awesome ben guide, im stuck with Bunny Band engine the moment and using Ben as a sub dps Sub dps ben still uses 4 piece Infernal right? I kinda feel maybe could use triple two pieces for biggest counter attacks like using Harmone, Infernal, Soul Rock or Puffer

@@olisupertan715 4pc inferno could work if you can proc burn often enough, but you might benefit more from using a support set like swing jazz or proto punk with good dps stats. Otherwise, you could try 4pc chaos jazz for maximizing EX special damage with 2pc inferno metal. 4pc sets will almost always be better than three 2pc sets.

The crit rate alone makes it worth using and averages higher damage overall compared to Big Cylinder because damage multipliers scale better than base attack.

Opinions on ben with tusks of fury, 4pc swing jazz 2pc woodpecker electro, 4 on Crit 5 on Atk% and 6 on Impact?

If you're using him like a burst stunner, this build should be fine, though fire damage slot 5 would be stronger. Swing Jazz is good but I recommend having Proto Punk on the team to further support this playstyle.
