My hair started locking up on my own and my curls were down to my chin, but I wasn’t pulling anything apart. I had dreads on the back of my head by then but my whole scalp was matted I wasn’t pulling anything apart. Somebody really wanted to crochet my hair and help me with my scalp so they pulled it apart and crocheted my two strands. Everybody around me thinks they are Freeform at first glance but as I’ve been getting retwists the roots are starting to get a little thin. I’m abt to start wrapping my new curls around the base of the dreads I can post progress and stuff I hope it works.

@@fka13angels Woah crazy journey, not sure if you are looking for advice but I can give you some tips that I think would help work. I would grow out the base work to get it healthy and full again, don’t neglect the shampoo cause that will help renew your scalp. I’m not a fan of the crochet hook so maybe if it gets long enough chop that part off. Just a thought

@@CameronSafack Thx for the advice man and I really appreciate u replying I am looking for advice lmao. Never done this before and there’s not too many in depth channels that I’ve ever found on this hair type so I really appreciate it. it’s been 2 months since my last retwist my dreads look great and I’m not itching or anything but due to circumstances I didn’t get to wash them much. I just did the other day actually. I’m getting one more retwist and detox so that I can can really take care of my scalp after. I got like anti dandruff oils and I got Mielle rosemary too. I’ve thought about chopping them off it was a crazy time when I was getting them. I do really like them though and even though somebody crotcheted them for me i got to keep the growth I had initially that locked up. Also they are all at different lengths width and sizes which is something i like, I’ve got to see them grow and mature in many individual ways. idk I feel ok about it they don’t look crotcheted but issue is definitely the roots, it’s either a matrix of roots or a thick curl holding the dread. I’m not really sure what will happen with some of them I might be paranoid but I don’t them to fall off😭. I’ve begun wrapping hair around the base and it seems to be working, I forgot about frizz for a couple days and my roots look healthy. I found your channel like 6 months back. At the time u had a video where u briefly mentioned wrapping the curls around the base and how it might go all the way down or something so I figured I might as well give a try and document it. Maybe my roots will get thicker but i definitely have to do no retwists for a long time . There may come a time where I do chop it off though, not really sure what’s going to happen to my roots long term with the hair I have right now

@@fka13angels in depth ass journey I fw it, yeah I say you can keep splitting them to keep their overall shape but then a light palm roll should do the trick for that hair at the base.

My hair is a lil tighter curls than urs and I’ve been tryna Freeform with the sponge/towel for a while but it hasn’t worked cus my hair wasn’t long enough or damaged or something but recently I washed my hair with just conditioner and cold water and like raked through and let it air dry now it’s all like sectioned out for the most part and it look like starter sponge Freeform’s how do u get it to lock like this should I use the sponge or towel ? I haven’t washed my hair with shampoo yet so idk what would happen after I do that
@CameronSafack3 ай бұрын
@@Austinc17 since you got it to form I’d say just let them rock and grow out, when it comes to washing I’d just focus on the roots so you don’t tamper with the Freeform curl pattern you knkw
@Austinc173 ай бұрын
@@CameronSafack how I focus on the roots like u mean only touch the roots cus obviously I can’t put the shampoo only on the roots unless u can do that idk how

I mean, my hair is short, it's 4a curl type, and i don't comb it. It's already tangling, (like some of the curls are joining amd some are softer, some are denser than others right now
