Gears of War 3 was one of my favourite games of all time, and after replaying it again I was very quick to be reminded of why! But, Gears 3 isn't mentioned anywhere near as much as Gears 2... But why? Why was Gears of War 3 So Underrated?

This game made me cry when I was 12 and now 10 years later it still makes me cry to this day. Truly I missed it when epic was able to create stories as on par with halo and I love halo as much as gears

Literally just finished playing this trilogy’s campaign on hardcore mode. Beyond epic story and tremendous gameplay. The 360 is the last console I have and this playthrough for the first time in over a decade was incredible.

After replaying the trilogy it still holds up the way that I thought it was whenever I played them growing up. I might be the one person who might say this, but in gears 3 in the end I wanted one more thing. I wanted to have more sam I really didn’t even notice her the first time I played it (10+ years ago… Jesus).

Gears of war 3 is my favorite. Loved the raam shadow dlc, the onyx guards. Beast mode in horde mode. So great.

People forget Horde was essential for Gears to come out with, in a world where COD World at War just came out a few years ago and Black Ops One came out just before gears 3. The early COD zombies formula is legendary and developers knew that, so Horde needed to be familiar yet innovated on and they absolutely nailed it in GOW3

One major point about the gears games is the first game introduces the main squad (Marcus, Dom, Cole and Baird) and all the subsequent games are about them letting go of their pasts… In gears 2, this happens to Dom with the death of his wife and presumably kids too. In gears 3, Cole puts his thrash ball career in the past, and Marcus has to bear the death of his father. Dom wanted to be with his wife, Cole wanted to be a superstar, and Marcus wanted to be with his father. All had to close those chapters in their lives. As for Baird, he received his own game Judgement and the Aftermath chapter let Baird finally put to rest his time in Kilo after learning about Sofia’s fate and Paduk never wanting to see Baird again.

The whole game was a W. From versus to beast mode, the game had great maps, story, and gameplay. Hell, even the DLC like Raams shadow and the multiplayer dlc were amazing. I would give anything for this game to have life again.

Looking back at the original 3 games the funniest thing that I didn’t realize until now as an adult is that the cog are fighting for humanities race there on the verge of extinct and they still treat it like the normal military holding orders keeping secrets and having clearance on certain aspects.idk why but I just find that so funny

I just finished playing this trilogy for the first time and my only real complaint is that lots of the story elements go unexplained. Maybe I missed something but it's never really explained who the locust are or where they come from in the game. There are also parts of 3 which just feel like padding. Looking around for a submarine rota just felt like pure padding to me and there was too much of this throughout all 3 games. Having said that the cinematics, set pieces, bombastic dialogue and most importantly gameplay are just straight up full throttle fun. Cant really complain about any of that. I'm gonna play 4 and 5 now to complete the set and I can't wait to see what a truly modern take on these games and stories looks like with Gears 6!

It's very simialr to how Halo's lore is setup. There's a shit load of novels, books etc that go into the finer details around the Locust, the queen etc. So we could honestly be here all day talking about it😂 4 and 5 are in the new trilogy, like Halo 4, 5 etc, so the story is very different. Gameplay wise though, very fun. You'll really enjoy them!

For me gears of war 3 is like halo 3 great campaign and multiplayer and just added too a already amazing game. finish off a great trilogy and the multiplayer got even better I think it’s the peak of gears of war 3 in my opinion.

Halo 3 I tied for me with Doom Eternal for the greatest FPS of all time. BUT Gears of War 3 is the untouched best third person shooter ever in my book. Even if Gears 1 is my favorite.

I’m playing through it for the 1st , right after beating 2, and I must say the combat and enemies are way more fun in gears 3. And all the new weapons and power weapons like the retro lancer and sawed off shotty are wild. Great game
