Jimmy, I watched this video and I think my blood pressure went down 50 points! I love your style. I have struggled with golf all my life thinking my success with other sports should transfer to my golf game, but noooo. Your tips are just what I need because I swing for the fence all the time. It’s winter in Wisconsin so I’m hitting into a net in my basement. I’ve been hitting more shots on the sweet spot, I can’t wait to get outside and play! Thanks Jimmy, you’re the best there is.

I started watching these videos about a week ago and I went golfing recently. I did shorten my swing but I went up one club because I am not a long hitter as it is. I also slowed down a little. I thought about all of Jimmy’s tips on every shot and I can truly say I am a new golfer. I am anxious to get out again to see if I’m permanently fixed or not. I think I am. Thank you Jimmy!

Hi Jimmy! I am a 72 year old practicing physician/oncologist. I have played golf literally my entire life, was about an 11 HCP when I practiced in the Palm Springs area and played at Mission Hills CC. Anyway at my age it has been much tougher. But your simple way of the swing has revolutionized my game. Finally after years of online and in person lessons it is fun again and really working. Thanks so much. I am subscribing today. Appreciate all. Now I just need a cigar!!

Jimmy, Like you, I am an old baseball player. I have struggled with golf all of my life because I still have that baseball hitter mentality. Swing hard!!! Since I began watching your videos I have cut back on my swing, use one club more, and I focus on being smooth. I'm not swinging out of my shoes, and my only swing thought is smoooooth. It's been working. Shot my lowest round of the season a few weeks ago (82). Thanks, Jimmy!

I finally took up golf seriously two years ago. Prior to that I just tried to kill the ball. When it was good, it was very very good, but when it was bad, it was lost. I scored 110. I watched many different KZbinrs. I took lessons. I practice regularly, I have a 70 yard range at home with flags at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 yards. I got better, but my score did not change. I have 3 other golf swing KZbinrs I watch, but no longer for swing tips. Just I enjoy them. Your tip, lesson changed my game. Every tip is just a variation of the same and that just reinforces your strength at helping others. I listen to you now, because I say, yah, that’s it. I should actually post the exact clip that got it for me. Maybe I’ll look later and add it. But every clip is a reinforcement of your same swing. Classic. As a kid, I remember a newsman asking a superb winning wrestler how he knew so many expert moves. His answer stayed with me, I practice every basic move so I could perform them with perfection. In one year listening to you over coffee, I’m pushing 90. I’m playing one ball. When the snow leaves, I’ll be pushing 80. That’s stokes, not age. At my age, a man needs to be able to hit their age. I’m 76. I’m there for sure this year. Might not be every game, but it’s within my best range.

I love your tips Jimmy. I'm 63 years old and The last time I took a few lessons from a local instructor, he had me trying to swing just like the tour pro he had on the monitor. No way I could ever swing like that. I hit the ball all over the place because I was thinking way too much. Your simple tips - staying smooth, wave at the camera at the top of the backswing and bump at the beginning of the downswing, have me striking the ball the best I ever have in the 30 years I have been playing!

I have recently come 2 this realization. Golf is so counterintuitive. Coming from a background of contact sports, it’s really been difficult 2 rely totally on finesse rather than force. However lately I’ve been taking smooth, almost “practice” like shots and have been puring shots left and right. This is great advice. Keep up the good work brother.

An excellent lesson! I remember years ago playing with an older gentleman who had the smoothest tempo, never swinging hard, and he regularly out-drove the younger guys who were coming out of their shoes with the driver. It is so sad that so many weekend golfers believe that they can learn from the pros who live on the course and have significant natural ability. I play golf to relax and by just slowing down, at 70 years old, I am finally staying consistently in the mid-80s and enjoying every minute.

Love this tip, beautiful mindset to play with for sure. I'm in Canada in the dead of winter right now. I was always playing over my head trying to make low percentage shots but more times than not, messing up. I am 63 and suffered a stroke 4 years ago but have finally recovered enough to try playing again this coming spring. I have accepted I will never be able to hit as hard as I could in the past. When I start again I think I will make a point to watch this video before every round I play. I have been watching your videos for the past 5 or 6 months and love your sense of humor and laid back simple approach to golf, without all the technical jargon. I don't know why but I wasn't subscribed, I am now. Just something for you to consider if you would. Canadians are hockey crazy, and because of it many of us play as lefties, despite being right hand dominant. It would be helpful for us but especially for fellas like me with a half fried brain now, if more golf teachers would use the language of lead side, lead hand, ect. and trail side, ect. verses left or right side. Keep the content coming, love it. Cheers!

I've shared your tips with my buddy and now he starts having a good time off the tee too 😊. He was using one less club and try hitting so hard and he would mess up a simple shot. Now he just needs to let go of his ego and follow your tips and he'll be smiling more. Thanks so much always Jimmy!

So, each time I go out and try your swing tip, I get better and better. The irony of it, is I am actually hitting the ball further and straighter than when I was swinging harder. I wave to the camera, lateral bump and follow through. Priceless. Plus my putter is so much better since I make sure I keep my head behind the ball and follow the ball with the putter head.

My brothers nicknamed me "Splinter" when I first started playing . Trying to crush the drive and sending a lot of them into the woods . My one swing thought w/driver on tee is , this is just the driving range . It mellows me out . And I take a controlled , balanced swing , most times successfully. Thanks for the "Smoothie" , Jimmy . I'm gonna use it with my irons now . Great tips and mindset . As a bonus , I'm pretty good at getting out of trouble . Only because I've been so good at getting into it . Nothing quite like punching a 4 iron thru straw grass with a vertical clearance of about a foot , while I've walked into the core of a pinetree with 10 inches of backswing . Good times !!

Jimmy, I was playing River Ridge down in Oxnard back in the 1980's. I think it was the 11th hole where I hit one around 340, which was ridiculous because my average drive was probably 225 to 235. My buddy, who averaged 250 to 265 was astonished and so was I. I was working on taking it back as slow as I could, and then matching my downswing to that turtle like back swing. (Later I caved the face in on that driver at Wood Ranch CC in Simi Valley...I think the driver may have been a little hot.

I bought your favorite club, 69d wedge. My biggest problem is I get under the ball too much and get a great flop shot that only goes 10-14 yards. If I swing harder it still only goes 15 yards. Where do you play the ball in your stance to get more distance? Besides this, I had one of my best rounds yesterday; 4 pars in a row. Unheard of for me. Thanks for your advice

Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy 🔮, man this is 💯 confirmation of my past 2 days. After another inconsistent day of ball striking, I was fed up. I rarely go to the range, but the last two days I’ve been and guess what…practicing pre-shot routine and tempo. Man the easy swing feels like cheating. Btw I put in the green side work as well, I have a 68 wedge and the putting stroke works 💵; had it over a year, just learn to use it with the putting stroke 😉. Oh did I say that 68 is the truth over green side bunkers, yes sirree. Thanks man, keep the content flowing 🔥🔥🔥.

There are a number of solutions to "get going". Yours are certainly a way. One additional solution, which may also be used in conjunction with yours is alcohol. Used in moderation alcohol in differing forms may provide that steadying feeling. Recommended if one is hung over on the first tee...Of course this is all theoretical. Good tip.
