As someone with EXTREMELY dry, eczema prone skin, I can confirm the Fenty fat water is a great product. I’m also extremely acne prone, and this did not make me break out. I also use the Naturium sunscreen and love it. It’s also sweat proof, I ran 7 miles in warm weather last week and it didn’t budge.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for this review ninz! I have the same skin type and have been STRUGGLING with finding good products that don’t break me out or cause my eczema to flair up while also moisturizing my dry skin. My skin used to be so oily but as I’ve hit my mid 40s it’s gotten more and more dry. I’m gonna give these products a try. Thanks so much to Nikki as well for making this video! I just recently found your channel and your content is awesome!!

I’m trying the ROUND LAB Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream for reapplying protection during the day. It’s a gel like cream that just liquifies when it touches your hand, so it feels like I’m just “watering” my face when I apply it, so no danger of removing makeup. Plus it feels cool against the skin, such a relief when it’s hot. I’ve never had a sunscreen do all those things before, I’m floored. And a little obsessed lol.

Nikki... 🌹 This is my very first comment on your channel. I found you about a month ago and haven't skipped any videos since... Love, love, love your gentle and non-imposing nature, your way of sharing without pushing anything, and just your vibe in general... Omg, your oily skin comment is so relatable to me... I was also "deeply offended" by my oily skin when I was a teenager. I swear, I thought something was wrong with me and I used to feel so self-conscious when someone would get too close to me... Ugh... Just thinking about it still makes me cringe... What you said about drinking water... So true and took me so long to get there... I'm not one to instinctively drink water throughout the day so it's something I need to remind myself continuously (have an app that helps me actually) but it does make so much difference, not only hydration-wise (more hydrated as opposed to oily) but also in just the texture and feel of your skin... Water is so underestimated in general, imo... We all really need to be more aware of our water intake when thinking about our physical or mental health... Sounds simple and obvious but so underrated and ignored by many of us... Thank you for your amazing and informative videos, Nikki! 🌹🌹🌹I'm a long-time makeup addict and rarely watch these types of videos for information (more so just to feel part of the community) but there is something unique about you in a way that you are sharing your own, personal experience which isn't biased in a way that many other channels or KZbinrs are today. Love that you said that we don't need a primer on a daily basis. Completely agree with that and I would even go as far as to say that using primer on a regular basis can have an adverse effect on our skin (depending on the primer of course, but many of the most popular ones aren't really that great in terms of keeping our skin healthy and letting it breathe). Sorry for such a long comment... It's Saturday and raining in Montreal... Feeling chatty and I really did want to thank you for your content (love your "best of" videos...omg...when you tried all those blushes...you are a hero!!!...that video will forever be epic + the "one and done" one today), and your time and dedication to each topic... 🙏 Thank you, thank you, thank you again, and have a beautiful weekend!!! 🤗🌹🤗

How about us sensitive/reactive skin people? Not calling you out..I am genuinely interested in what you would recommend. The L'occitane for instance has perfume in it which my skin immediately reacts to.
@1827handmade
@1827handmade Ай бұрын
I think it'd be tricky for her because she once mentioned having pretty bulletproof skin in regards to reactivity. Maybe she could let us know what's affected clients and friends during her career/life. The problem with us sensitive/reactive types is that many of us have different sensitivities, State of Kait says she has one of the most sensitive skin types out there but I notice she can tolerate quite a few ingredients that I can't. Maybe you could check out some of her skincare videos, because she factors in fragrance etc. After browsing reddit for months I realized there almost isn't a single product that is tolerated across the board. I react to things that aren't known to be allergens or harsh etc, but can tolerate something like lanolin for example, which is a known one! It's trial and error for the individual unfortunately, which makes it expensive and frustrating :( quite a few years back I tried a number of products formulated for sensitive skin and couldn't tolerate almost all of them, it's tough for us!

Hi Nikki! I really hope that you see this and manage to respond because I've been trying to figure out if I should proceed with purchasing the Naturium Dew-Glow Moisturizer that you suggested for my dry skin. However, due to the humid weather here (I live in the Caribbean), I am worried that the sunscreen would potentially not melt into my skin and dry down nicely. I have had issues with moisturizers or sunscreens in the past creating a film on top of the skin, leading to sweat underneath. It's honestly a struggle having dry skin but also being prone to sweating on my face depending on whether I am in an air conditioned room or not lol. I do love and prefer a dewy finish but I just don't want to be overly shiny or trigger sweat. Please do let me know what you'd suggest in that case! I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

This is gold!! 💛🌟 I wonder if you could do skin prep/ makeup application on each skin type?? I would love to see how you make it all work for dry etc. I struggle with doing my makeup it looks great then I go out in natural lighting it looks like it's sitting on top and not soaking in and it can be super embarrassing. It's always Russian roulette. I've been doing makeup forever but still struggling with this from time to time... I need a set routine, without fail that I can rely on. Your 100% correct, if I personally skip the skin prep it never ends well. Even if your crunched on time you've gatta prep. It's almost more important than the makeup if you want the makeup to even look good..... Then good lighting and a good mirror, I'm upgrading my set up any day now. That's another thing that will turn around to bite you later, when you literally cannot see when your putting the makeup on!! Again almost more important than the makeup of you want it to actually look good lol 😂😂. The struggle. 😅

You didn't include sunscreen in the part for the severe oily skin part, and I know the struggle to find one. All Around Safe Block Soft Finish Sun Milk SPF50 by MISSHA brings a matte finish and sits nicely under the foundation I use ( the Dior Matte), so if you're not familiar with it, you can give it a try :) . In addition, I would be happy if you would recommend cream/liquid blushes that have a cold tone that is suitable for fair skin and that suitable for very oily skin 🖤

This was insanely helpful; thank you for sharing your expertise with us! I feel like this is great advice even for people who don't wear makeup - my husband has horribly dry skin and I'm definitely going to pick up some of the Fenty fat water to have him try under his moisturizer! And I really appreciate your including combo skin. That's something I struggle with and I'm definitely going to try out all of your tips. 🥰

I love you so much Nikki! I NEEDED this video. I was literally thinking to myself for the last few weeks that I needed advice with skin prep because it has been so difficult for me to figure out what works best underneath make-up due to the risk of pilling and separating. I have noted down all of your recommendations for dry skin, and I'm in the process of ordering the products. I hope they work just as well for me as they have for your clients. I'm so happy that I found you because you truly make everything that you create so enjoyable to watch and I trust your opinion.

I have to say, for very oily skin I find that Make Up For Ever Step 1 Shine Control Primer, is much better than Milk Hydro Grip 🤔

I have combo skin and love so many of the Naturium products! I haven’t tried the SPF yet because sounds too hydrating … I love the La Roche Pose, Tula or Super Goop

Can you also layer a vitamin C serum in the prep for dry skin or combination skin? At what point would you use it in the routine?

Hi Nikki, thank you for the helpful info! Just to confirm, are you using the moisturizers/SPFs and primers under your eyes too? I have oily skin and I can't figure out how to prep that area. The concealer I use is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser- which many people have said is a good one- but it always looks terrible on me. I'm patting it in with a brush but it looks dry and patchy, immediately settles into fine lines, and doesn't even cover my dark circles. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and would really appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks so much!

I find my makeup to be cakey and thicker in the mouth area. I’m 56 and have oily tzone. I use too faced foundation born this way mixed with a little revlon long wear. My concealer is Haus Labs which I really like. The primer I’m using now is smashbox primerizer plus. I normally use a moisturizer and hydration spray. Sometimes my makeup looks great and other times not so much. I need help
