I just bought the 100K miles using your link! I had to spend on my Alaska Airline card anyway to get my annual companion ticket. The 60% promotion is going on until 10/31/24. Thanks for the tip(s), we enjoy watching your content. What credit card should I get for miles next? Currently have Amex Platinum, Alaska Air, Chase Club Premium, Amex Hilton ($95 annual ) and others but not tied directly to airline or hotel miles. I am able to get business credit cards as well.

I’ve been waiting for a card like this and boom. It’s almost a reality! 3x on airfare, dining and foreign purchases with no foreign exchange fees??? Sign me up! I’m good for 15-20,000 points a month. $395 a.f. is totally worth it especially with Alaska lounge access and who knows what else, cuz Venture X has the same a.f. and it’s a pretty bad ass card too. This is such great news and I’m applying for it day one.

🐻 Hey Seb, question - i heard that on award flights AS will only give you 100% EQM regardless of cabin, and 100%+ with cash fare purchase? I wonder if you've heard the same, i could be mistaken.

Did some digging and couldn't find anything conclusive. They could definitely be better with wording. www.alaskaair.com/content/mileage-plan/how-to-earn-miles/earn-on-alaska#2025 news.alaskaair.com/mileage-plan/alaska-airlines-mileage-plan-enhanced-benefits-2024/ My interpretation was "you can now earn miles with award bookings" + "when booking with partners on Alaska you get more points for F/J" Let me know if you find anything and I'll pin a comment :)

If you book for someone else using your own Alaska miles do they get EQM for their status?
@scs322 ай бұрын
The information in this video is, at the very least, misleading. Please do a followup that addresses the fact that the class multiplier does NOT happen when using award tickets. Award flights earn 100% eqms regardless of class.

🐻 I'm going to be taking the A350 round trip next year, luckily enough. I originally found availability on the older product, which I used earlier this year and liked. But with some alotted flexibility, I saw some availability if i added 2 more days in Japan during the trip. Can't complain about that. I'm pretty hyped about it! Also, the joggers you told me about my favorite joggers now after trying them out.

I'm not going to do any air travel until 2027. Should I start using these travel credit cards now to build points? Currently, I don't have any travel credit cards. I live in Hawaii, so eventually I will be flying Alaska airlines.

I just want to know how it will work with the merge of hawiian and alaska. Will my Hawaiian card become an Alaska airlines card? I know its still to early but thats what i feel will be happening for those who have the hawiian airlines to become an alaska air card.

🐻 - Question on reward bookings: if you transfer miles to your Alaska account, then purchase a business class ticket, you’re saying the miles flown (ex- 4k miles between US & Europe) will go toward your EQM tracker at a 2.5x multiplier? Has this always been the case or is this the new 2025 rule?
@hejbjarne25 күн бұрын
EQMs do not get multiplied. Never.

If I booked a 2025 Flight in 2024 with a partner Airline on Alaska's site will it still earn EQM?
@Fridge56Vet2 ай бұрын
🐻 1.) Wasn't on my radar before, though the limits on EQMs w/CC spend limit the usefulness to me being in the eastern US. If I'm gona be codeshare on AA metal most of the time, I might as well just go for AA status, that I can easily do w/spend. 2.) Currently a Delta Diamond, mostly from spend. Have never had a bad experience with them & I like the product. 3.) Equal or better ease of earning status, combined with lower cost redemptions. Also, a top-tier business card would be nice, something Delta has that, to my knowledge, the others don't.

Will by points value be low if I book Qatar airways flight through Alaska Airlines portal? Whats are the pros and cons?
@AskSebbyBusiness2 ай бұрын
You can book Qatar using various points/miles currencies. Depends on which ecosystem you're optimizing for.
@stefansperb8162 ай бұрын
Depends. Alaska generally uses an award chart based on distance and class of service. If you're looking for specifically Qatar, then transferring to british and then to Qatar from there would be easiest with general cc points (Amex / chase), as British / Iberia / Finnair / Qatar all use the avios points system nowadays. If you're more flexible on dates and don't mind checking far in advance or within two weeks, then Alaska is perfectly adequate way to book Qatar.

🐻🐻🐻 - Getting One World Sapphire Status seems to be very beneficial. Would Alaskan EQM be the most efficient way of doing it?
@AskSebbyBusiness2 ай бұрын
If purely by spend, AA is probably easier. AA Platinum status = OW Sapphire Target = 75k LP = $75k spend on everything else With redemptions in play, it becomes a lot muddier... AS MVP Gold = OW Sapphire Target = 40k EQMs = $90k spend + 10k miles of flights But you could easily spend more on flights / redeem more efficiently for distance and spend less.

🐻 Can you get into Alaska lounges with AA status or AA cards?
@stefansperb8162 ай бұрын
AA status should get you into Alaska lounges. Google oneworld lounges and the first link should be the official website where you can look at specific airports and what status you would need to get into each individual lounge. That's how I look into what lounges I can get into with oneworld emerald.

🐻 Sebby, I’m executive plat with American and contemplating making the move to Alaska. I fly mainly within the PNW and Hawaii for work and American punishes frequent flyers by giving top status to anyone spending money
@matth53812 ай бұрын
If you’re going between the PNW and Hawaii, Alaska is a no-brainer. You will earn status in no time, and access to a larger network with the Hawaiian merger.

I have Alaska MVP gold status, how do I match it to OW Sapphire? and can I status match to OW partner airlines?
@stefansperb8162 ай бұрын
No need to match anything, everything's attached to your Alaska mileage number. Whenever you book with a partner airline, make sure to type in your Alaska number to receive your benefits. I would assume it's rare that airline alliances would status match amongst each other because you'd essentially be getting the same or similar benefits as just having ow status. Only "status matching" I would think of would be the special partnerships that Alaska and AA have with upgrades/preferred seats and AA has with BA with certain perks as well. Hope that helps!
@LuckyAces4442 ай бұрын
@@stefansperb816 Kind of, so for example....I book a flight on Qatar Airways and put in my Alaska mileage number, then I would get Alaska mileage benefits? like free check bag, free seat selection, priority boarding, upgrade, etc... Also, will I also be earning Alaska mileage miles and not Qatar avios?
@stefansperb8162 ай бұрын
You would get most of the benefits. You wouldn't get "Alaska" benefits, but oneworld benefits bc you have Alaska status if that makes sense. There's a website easily accessible that shows what ow status corresponds to what Alaska status you have and the corresponding benefits (like ow ruby, sapphire or emerald). The one benefit you wouldn't really get would be upgrades unless you have upgrade certificates through the new benefit ladder levels. There's a lot of strings attached to with those upgrade certificates and you would need availability on flights as well. Yes, you would get Alaska miles for CASH fares through Qatar if you put your mileage plan number when booking.
