great video for new guys in the business. Its great to see a mower manufacture take time to make a 30 min video explaining this. Really shows that the company listens to customers, and addresses issues and explains things. When my exmark dies, i will be buying a wright mower. Great job guys! Keep it up. This is how you earn customers!

Stegs, Thanks for the positive support. My observation is that many companies spend millions on advertising but are afraid to engage on some of the hot button topics for fear of being held accountable by their customers. Does our deck cut the best in all conditions, nope, but it sure does a better job in most conditions. -Ed

I'm just a residential guy who loves to mow his lawn. I have a Honda HRX217HZA set at it's top height of four inches, a Big League Lawns Checkmate stripe kit installed and I CAN'T BELIEVE how much I love mowing my lawn with that thing. Her name is Kathryn and I baby her like nothing before. The cut quality is absolutely phenomenal. I've never gotten such a clean, even, beautiful cut as I do with Kathryn. Fantastic machine. Fan-bloody-tastic! I scrape the plastic, NEXITE deck with a plastic puddy knife, hose her clean, wipe her dry and clean and put her away after EVERY mow. I installed a Tachometer/Hour Meter before I ever started her for the first time. I keep meticulous records on her engine run time, again after every mow, and maintenance schedule. Gave her Royal Purple engine oil, and a magnetic dipstick to act as the next best thing to an oil filter. I clean the air filter, air filter box and magnetic dipstick before every mow. She's coming up on 25 hours which means it's time for a trip to the shop to have the Hydromatic transmission drive clutch and blade control cables adjusted. Also, a quick blade sharpen and balance while she's there.

@Heinzkitz Velvet If you really care about this mower then don't ever check or clean the air filter! Air filters work best when they accumulate dirt and particles over time. Checking and cleaning your air filter is one of the worst things you can do and significantly increases the chance for particle contamination. The best thing you can do is purchase a service indicator and install it on the air intake. I hope you continue to enjoy your mower.

Thanks Ed. I feel sometimes the dealers just want a sale I would love to demo a product but they always say they don’t have one in stock and the mower business in PA where I live is a very small market.I’ve actually just called sales rep instead of going through my dealer. Any commercial mower I purchase I need to try it out.I know the mower for my business after researching is a 36 walk behind with Velke. I can use a 30 inch mower but every one on the market has bad reviews.Can you ask any of your reps do they have any 36 inch demo on hand that I can purchase?

Grassology, We only ship mowers into about 10 central warehouses throughout the country. I very much recommend you first choose the dealer you want to work with and then choose from the equipment brand and lines they sell every day. POOR CUT QUALITY - My new Stander Intensity spits out leaves at about the 1:00 position if looking at the deck from up top. I have it pitched a quarter inch lower in the front and a shoot blocker on and it just does not leave a clean cut at all. Even though the deck is pitched a quarter inch lower in the front visually, it still looks high in the front. Do I have a warped deck or something? I'm really disappointed with the cut quality of this. My previous mower was a 15-year-old Toro 36-in walk behind. I could blow out beds, throw all the leaf material into the turf and mulch it in with my Toro and things looked great.

@WrightMowers

Most of our machines are ideal around 16psi. Watch the thread wear--if it wears on the outside, increase the pressure a little. If they wear on the edges, you need a little more air. -Ed

Wright Commercial Mowers - Ed:- is a low lift blade the best to run on your Wright mower when asked to cut lawns 2 to 5 weeks after they have been treated with a slow release granular fertilizer and u want to lessen harm to/burning of the lawn by reducing the amount of fert pellets being drawn/ sucked up into the deck by the blades to cause the immediate release of the pellets' fert ingredients?

i might have missed it but i didnt see anything on a warn belt can effect the cut quality, where as the belt might not slip off or break but it can slip and not transfer all the power that it could. i started having issues with leaving strings/stripes so i went through a checklist of things new belt has made a world of a difference, i can tell when the machine is under load much easier now.

What is the best cut height ?
@WrightMowers
@WrightMowers 7 жыл бұрын
That's an all-time epic question! I'd say longer is better--the lawn better digests clippings, survives drought better, roots grow deeper, suppress weed seed germination... The problem with too long is may customers want it cut shorter than healthy and also most decks cut worse the higher they are. I'm my home state of MD, most of our grass types are happy with 3.5-3.75. St. Augustine, Bermuda, Fine Fescue, Bluegrass, Tall Fescue, and weed grass all have their unique needs. -Ed

I have to say...... you misspoke about grass height. Longer grass doesn’t promote deep root growth. Shorter promotes deep root growth because the grass learns that it can’t depend on its leaf for water. It will grow deeper roots and be much more drought tolerant. Don’t believe me? Come to my customers and see. Everyone but my customers lawns are burnt to a crisp and my customers lawns are lush and green. No watering either.
@jasonmizuno6117
@jasonmizuno6117 6 жыл бұрын
Grass type is a big factor, but generally longer grass has deeper roots. At trugreen you get trained by multiple agronomists in regards to best practices for your type of turf species. Here in Idaho we have cold weather turf which does really well at a longer length. Cannot speak for bent, Bermuda, or zoysia grass but what Ed stated is correct. How frequent you water and mow make the biggest difference in turf health. Infrequent watering that is deeper will drive roots and produce a healthier lawn.
@FishFind3000
@FishFind3000 5 жыл бұрын
The grass doesn’t get any water from the leaf it looses water from the leaf. Bigger leaf looses more water so it needs to replace it faster so it has a need for deeper roots for more water.

Do not like your STRIPES...you think grass is so fragile. Stripes couldn't be any harder on turf . Traps heat under canopy and also reduces oxygen to roots. They are gaudy, bold and give the lawn a hard look. Nothing in nature is straight..checked...plaid...or diagonal. It's even more difficult to walk through a grainy , long turf. Teach your users How to attain a softer look on the appearances most homeowners want and appreciate.
