Yeah where I live we have them with blue gill mash taters and corn. We fished, hunted, and grew most of are food every year growing up and chasing these around the woods sucked. But if you spend enough time looking you find spots that produce and you keep visiting those spots. We always look with a mesh bag to put them in like a golden rule. They blow in the wind and land anywhere so we find them in heavy looked spots right along the walking path. Woods with lots of dead elm and ash tress seem to grow alot

Morel mushrooms in my northern Michigan area are extremely popular and a lot of people have their secret spots and will guard them with their lives. I love finding them and getting pictures of them I don’t really eat them I will time to time but I mainly just like the hunt!!!

Morel mushrooms definitely deserve their immense popularity. They are (in my opinion) the most delicious wild mushroom in the world when properly prepared, and hunting for them is challenging, tons of fun and like treasure hunting for mushroom lovers! What's not to love!?

I remember stopping high in the Atlas mountains in Morocco. Suddenly there was a small crowd of people around us with plastic bags of what turned out to be Morels. I would never have guessed they grew there in large numbers but it seems they do!

It is possible the burn site morels evolved because it is easier for their spores to find purchase in on the ground after a fire.
