I’ve been trying to study in Japan forever! I used GogoNihon at first, but unfortunately I had to withdraw because of Covid. Now, I have a year until i graduate and I need to look for jobs. I hope I can go to Japan for that.

My plan is after i graduate i will take a gap year and save up money for living expenses and such My family said they'd help with tuition so hopefully in 2024 I'll be in japan (My plan is a lot more fleshed out as it is about 6 months in the making but im keeping it simple for this comment)

How to Move to Japan? Step 1 - Invent a Time Machine, Step 2 - Use the Time Machine to Go back in Time to when you lived in Japan and had so so much fun every day, Step 3 - Don't leave. 🙂 Or ... just visit for 90 days each year as a tourist and work online (night shift) so you don't lose your "work from anywhere" job.

Today is my laundry day it’s Monday and I don’t have classes on Mondays at University of Toronto so I got some coffee on the corner across from where I live in downtown Toronto and so I’m just going to stay home and do laundry and listen and watch your videos!! Really like your videos soooo MUCHA ! sorry that’s an old Japanese joke! Haha :D I moved to Japan my first time in 2003 before there was really a way to just google things and it was years later after that when I discovered gaijin pot which was very helpful. All my jobs came from there after that including the big jobs like OSAKA BoE About On the subject of pimples: 1 ) Never drink cold water especially not with ice or very cold. 2 ) drink lots of water especially if it can be hot water or room temperature. 3 ) drink the Chinese tea you can find in Japan called OOLONG CHA ( again...avoid it cold or chilled ) We actually used it to take the oil film off our car windshields. It is what is good for balancing out oily Chinese food. I think it is good for breaking up oils in the body and associated with the skin. 4 ) gets lots of sleep and rest. Ohhh and regular visits to ‘onsen’ in Japan might help too!

Ahh yeah, it is an unfortunate requirement... Don't give up though, if you're interested in moving to Japan in general, these are only two of the many types of visas out there!

Nice vid! But I have a nice USA IT remote job. So I won't need to get a job there. I need to find Information going that route... But I cant find any...got a friend's that went my route? Or pointers... Or who I need to call to inquire about that
@ChefinJapan2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm I can really only speak from my experience. The teaching and student visas are the only 2 I've been on/am familiar with. I haven't heard of Japan having a remote work visa, but if you're interested in learning the language, I believe you can come on a student visa while working your American job. There's also a working holiday visa that you can do remote work with, but it's not available to Americans....

Do you recommend to get a master degree in Japan or study Japanese to get a full time job in Japan? I'm a Logistics/Transportation professional with around 7 years of expertise. I should have a N4 Japanese by now. Thanks! :)
@ChefinJapan2 жыл бұрын
Hello there! I think it depends on your goals. Are you interested in learning more Japanese? it can be hard to find time to study if you're working full-time. If you're able to, It might be good to go to language school first for 6 months- 1 year (you can work part-time on a student visa) and then look for a job. You'll have more opportunities if you have N2! Hope this helps and best of luck!!

I’m sorry but there are some misinformation in your video 1-you don’t actually have to be a native English speaker to land a teaching job most teaching jobs require you to be fluent in English regardless of your native language 2- to get a student visa it requires a balance check witch is way less than 20k especially if you’re taking a shorter corse Overall your video was very helpful and I appreciate you taking the time to help others
@ChefinJapan2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to check information! However, most companies only recruit _overseas applicants_ (people who do not yet live in Japan yet but want to move here) from native English speaking countries. Of course there are always exceptions, but to be honest I have not found any exceptions in my own research. Do you have any examples? Please let us know as it could be helpful for any 2nd language English speakers who want to teach English here! Also, for anyone who wants to move to Japan as a student, a long-term visa (1-2 years) is necessary, which requires ~20k in the bank OR a guarantor. I'm very certain of this as I just went through the process and had to submit tonsss of paperwork (not fun). Shorter school options are available for people who want to study on a tourist visa, but that's not essentially "moving" here. Hope this clears things up! Let me know if you have any other questions!~😁

bit off topic, but is Japan currently requiring the vax to visit japan? is quarantine still in place too

As of the most recent news, you do not need the vax to get into Japan with a visa. Just a negative Covid Test and a 3-day quarantine!
