Do you need the Internet to use this ?

Came across your video now and never had a clue how routers configurations worked or what it all meant until now. Thank you so much!!!

This stuff is complicated for me, and intimidating. But as usual, it's all about finding the right tutorial. Bingo! 🤠

I have to say this video is great and your networking presentation was better than I’ve seen from Rockwell automation. Very in depth and thorough

TP-Link updated and changed the menus around so now good luck following along in this video. In this video Basic>Internet is different in the newer menu. It's under Quick Setup. Network Map is nowhere to be found, I guess they decided it was a useless feature. Holy smoke when will these companies learn not to reinvent the wheel.

Ofc, TP Link nowadays is a total catastrophic! i am looking for the Archer AXE75 v1.0 advanced settings, these settings what i have you can set almost nothing there, not even the firewall and you get no channel display nothing. It also doesn't install an app on the phone, I have a PC and I expect TP Link to give me a proper settings GUI. This is a cheek!

That's surprising. Did you try a firmware upgrade?

From my modem, should it connect to the switch or should it first pass one router then switch, then routers in each rooms?
@WiFiGuy3 жыл бұрын
modem>router>switch>devices. other rooms should be either ethernet or wifi. you don't need a router in every room.
@IcedGreens3 жыл бұрын
@@WiFiGuy I'd need a router to make sure the wifi signal is strong in each room. Hard to do get a good signal inside the rooms with concrete walls.
@WiFiGuy3 жыл бұрын
You're right. You won't get anywhere with concrete walls but routers in every room means a complex setup and running cables. Before you do that you may want to look into Powerline: wifi-guy.net/powerline-extenders-buyers-guide/. Cheaper and easier. If you put routers in every room your going to have to turn off DHCP on all the other routers but the main router and set the IP of the main router as the default gateway and DHCP server on all the other routers. It may or may not work without a lot of trial and error.

I recently changed from coax 100/mb to ethernet 1 gig with new router and now I cant watch KZbin vids without constant buffering or some web pages not opening without disabling the ethernet connection. The Wi-Fi works but I need to be hard wired with my Desktop to Fly on flight sims, record, and stream. I'm about to give up after weeks of trouble shooting.
@WiFiGuy Жыл бұрын
Are you using a 100/mb switch somewhere?
@REDMAN-ROTERMANN Жыл бұрын
@@WiFiGuy No I got it fixed but I'm a little embarrassed. I inadvertently enabled something in 6(TCP/IPv6) when I was setting up the router and it created havoc everywhere including my security software. I didn't think to go back in there and check because I never intentionally changed anything in those settings. I hate routers!

@@REDMAN-ROTERMANN Nice troubleshooting. You got to the bottom of it and that's all that matters. IPV6 is for Internet use. The IP scheme is a nightmare.
