Gun Rover for bots, laser rover for bugs. Gun rover is more effective at targeting the individual bots, the ammo is a little annoying though. However, the laser rover, while more effective at clearing hordes of low level bugs, will do a lot of team damage especially when everyone is fighting close together like with bots.

@@cameronlabkins8590you have to treat it like a sentry sometimes, like going in a U-shape around it instead of crossing it‘s line of fire. with light mechanic armor, no health boosts and no shield, it killed me once (I mained it before switching to supply backpack, lvl. 20 currently), but most of the time, if it only does one or two ticks of damage, it only kills 15%-30% max, but that happens rarely (like once every 5 games) like friendly fire from eagle strikes/orbital barrages, it’s just a factor you have to be aware of and then it‘ll never kill you and also not hinder you that much either

Honestly, giving the Jump Pack an F kind of implies the OP didn't really use it. It's 100% reliable, unlike the implied reliability (hold spacebar or console equivalent), and it's ability to by pass terrain elements, or jump to normally unreachable areas, gives it insane versatility when you're on the move. Especially in Helldive difficulty, where fighting is a death sentence. It's often better to have 1 or 2 teammates take jump packs and run around taking out all the side objectives, distracting the enemies, while your remaining party members do the main objective.

The Exposed week point dose a fraction of the damage of the leg and you have to dump like a mag and a half into the back of a charger with the auto cannon but due to the stationary reload using more than a mag is a critical failure, however if you hit the back of its legs and not the front use can like 3 shot it so it is a good gun especially if you factor in its utility of destroying objectives I'd say its B+ or A tier and I don't think it can be ranked any higher due to the loss of a backpack slot heavily limiting survivability in higher levels

Orbital rail cannon can one shot titans and guaranteed charger and hulk kill plus you don't need to worry about placement. I'm literally shocked to see laser at E. It will kill titans and chargers and ad clear and often do both. It also slows all large targets allowing you to easily help by shooting the target. I would give it a B since limited uses and long cooldown.

Yeah the Orbital Laser isn't nearly as bad as portrayed here, although I wouldn't put it in the A tier either. The worst thing I can say about it is that the auto-aim on it feels like RNG - Sometimes you can yeet it into a large bot outpost and it will solo every fabricator inside it perfectly, other times it will waste its whole charge chasing minor enemies. It seems to very consistently wipe out parked dropships on those specific objectives, at least. Also, with how long the cooldown is, the usage limit doesn't feel warranted at all. There is also the weird angle limit that can screw you if you forget about it - Because it's fired from your ship in orbit, it comes down at a much shallower angle when you're at the edges of the map. If you're on a planet with mountains, this can mean that it physically can't reach certain targets if there is terrain or an indestructible building in the way.

he also claimed the eagle air strike to be bad at killing tanks. when its the only stratagem that can kill multiple tanks in a single call in. it consistently one shots tanks. sucks vs hulks tho. i also feel that he judges the usefullness of all these things soley for its abilit to kill enemies. precision strike and eagle air strike is amazing at dealing with objectives. air strike is easily the biggest S tier strata in the game. i and my friends ALWAYS takes it with us. as it CAN kill just about anything except the heaviest objectives on bot planets such as eye of sauron, but precision strike can destroy as far as i know ANYTHING. nothing survives it as long as it hits.

I find that using autocannon, mortor as a distraction tactic (and maybe shield if bots, for the extra time), works marvelously when you are stealthing, drop all 3 (or 2) in an area that overlooks the objective and watch as all the enemies simply leave the terminal unguarded while you do the objective

EDIT: A quick clarification to clear up a misunderstanding. When I say the jetpack is one of the best mobility tools, I don't mean it's one of the best mobility stratagems. It's the only one, of course. But it's not the only tool you have at your disposal to aid in mobility. Things like light armor, the stamina booster, etc. All help you move around. The jetpack just does it the best. Hope that clears it up! 🙏 I'm probably gonna be the only one here who's going to argue in defense of the jetpack. I think it deserves to be at least B or C Tier on the list rather than F Tier as, in the hands of a skilled player, it's one of the best mobility tools in the game, and can turn you into the ultimate skirmisher, leaping across the battlefield like a bullfrog (if you get this reference, i love you) and outmaneuvering almost any enemy. The ability to get to a higher elevation should not be glossed over as an "oh yeah it can do this, but whatever" benefit. This is borderline OP against the Terminids, where hopping onto a high enough rock or crate (if a Charger isn't around) lets you shoot at the bugs with near total impunity, with your only worries really being bile titans, and the occasional tunneler or hunter. You can just camp up there and rain hellfire down on them with guns, stratagems, and grenades. This is slightly less useful against bots, but even then, getting to a higher elevation and going prone allows you to dodge most return fire from the bots, with your only worry being grenades and assault raiders. Hell, one of my favorite extraction strats is to start the shuttle return, find the nearest, highest rock (or building, provided I haven't seen any chargers), jump to it, go prone, and either wait out the hordes of enemies or just plink away at them at my leisure while Pelican 1 shows up. You can also jump over chargers and melee enemies, which is endlessly useful when facing down a horde of those enemies, and the brief burst of speed you get not only allows you to beat a hasty retreat, but you can call in a large AOE stratagem and safely escape its radius without worrying about needing to dive or risk being hit. Granted, each use of the jetpack requires a small amount of stamina, but once you get the stamina upgrade, this becomes far less of a headache to deal with. You also CAN alter the trajectory a little bit while in the air, just in case you might land somewhere you don't intend to. Lastly, a rather niche and underappreciated ability of the jetpack is the fact that it cancels out fall damage from any height as soon as you activate it. Granted, you don't want to brush up against a surface with a ledge of any kind, or you will start to fall like normal, but most of the time, you can leap from heights that would result in wasting a precious stim to fix a broken leg or outright kill you without the need to worry. What keeps it from being S.E.F. or A Tier is that I wish the stamina penalty wasn't so big, you got more height and more aerial control while airborne, and that it recharged quicker... oh, and also that it competes with the almighty Shield Backpack/Supply Backpack meta, which I GUESS means it's lower tier, since it competes for precious backpack slots on higher difficulties but if it were up to me, I'd consider it a solid B tier.

I agree. I always bring it on bug missions, difficulty 7 and above. It let's you kite enemies forever. If your team ever is out of reinforcements. You can survive for 10 minutes easily while being chased by hordes of enemies. I don't think anything else let's you do that. Being on high ground opens up so many possibilities too. Though I do agree it's bad against Automatons, which is fine.

I’d at least give it b tier. It can be niche, but when you encounter a scenario where a jump pack would be nice, boy does it shine.

Personal I think the jump pack should be mid D-low C you just need to figure it out and never use it while running up hill. Use it as a way to get out of a large group, get on the high ground, terrain traversal, a way to get behind/out of the way of certain enemies, or as a way to at least double the range you can throw a stratagem without needing to use a certain set of armor. My main loadout is the orbital laser, eagle airstrike, jump pack, auto canon turret(or flame thrower/expendable anti-tank), smg pistol, default grenade, and the scythe(or default pump shotgun/defender smg).

On the topic of stealth, from someone who solos missions a lot: In this game, stealth is less about "never being detected", and more about "only being detected once it's too late". It mostly comes down to the fact that, especially on higher difficulties, speed and efficiency are king. The longer you stay in a mission, the larger the patrols and reinforcement spawns get, until you can no longer handle them. The primary objective is to get what you need done in the least time, and you need to learn to recognize when it's faster to sneak, and when it's faster to run-and-gun. Therefore, the most important maneuver to master is to sneak up on an enemy group (Don't overthink it - Just break line of sight with buildings and terrain, or literally just crouch-walk up to them), cut down every unit that can call in reinforcements before they can do so (This means any small human-sized bots, or any bug smaller than a charger), finish off the rest, and then move on quickly before another patrol comes along (Depending on placement, noise may attract them). For larger groups, timing your attack along with an airstrike may be needed. If you mess up, try to contain the situation by ambushing the reinforcements as they drop or emerge - Grenades are great here. Also, remember that enemies are alerted based on what they see and hear. Surprisingly, you can usually get away with firing 1-2 shots to kill one guy in a group (as long as they're not standing directly next to someone else), without everyone else in the area becoming alerted. Instead, the enemies will try to investigate the source of the noise first. This also applies to most hellpod call-ins - You can actually distract enemies sometimes by dropping a supply pod around them, for example. Or drop a sentry, and let it shoot at a group. As long as they haven't seen you, they will be oblivious to your presence and will rush off to kill the sentry, and you can do whatever you like unimpeded.

So you get screwed if they attempt to immediately call it in

as a jump pack main i have to say this: its not a jet pack there is a reason why it is called jump pack. you can jump higher and you can also jump down any high terrain without taking any fall dmg. also you can escape with this thing in a tight situation cause throwing yourself on the ground doesnt help you if you are surrounded so having a option to jump over the horde is also a big benefit. One more point: you can also jump high to scout the area and throw stratagem or greande where you want. i would defo put this on A

Something I think that was missed with the AMR, it can 2 shot hulks with a headshot, has better handling than the autocannon, and has a higher zoom than the railgun, and can still kill tanks. I feel like you're focusing on viability vs bugs in this list. but you toss in stuff about bots occasionally just to pump something up higher or lower. Weapons have massive viability differences between the factions so this skews your list. i.e. flamer being shit vs bots, but amazing vs bugs. I think your tierlist would be better if you had a VS bots and VS bugs tier list because they're both very different in how you approach fights, and how effective some call-ins are. Arc thrower is criminally underrated. Legitimately the best weapon in the game currently. Best horde clear option in the game once you get the timing down, can kill hulks in 6-7 shots, chargers in 9-10, tanks in around 15, but struggles with bile titans. All the while, you’re destroying 2-3 small enemies if any are left. Not needing any stratagems to deal with hordes (because the arc thrower is too good at it) I can bring the rail cannon strike, 500kg bomb, and rocket pods for large targets. I took 3 of my friends all with the arc thrower, went to Helldivers bugs, and just sat next to two large bases and held out for 30+ minutes. We never had to move or retreat. Everything died before it could get close. It’ll be the meta by sometime a week or two from now.

For those wondering how it does in normal play: I typically end up with double the kill total of everyone else on the team. Before you say, “well you just killed small enemies and left the rail guns to deal with chargers/titans/tanks/hulks.” I’ll remind you that I usually have a stratagem off cooldown to throw at the large targets, plus arc thrower does good damage to everything but titans. I wish there were a way track large enemy kills, but my mental math tells me that I’m still killing more large enemies than the average player in my Helldive lobby. All while doubling everyone up on kills, and dying less than the average, due to being able to kill most of the enemies before they get too close.

@@Shadykilla lol, my accidentals are never over 2. And one of those is usually someone running headfirst into an artillery barrage that I threw 100m ahead of the squad. It’s simply the most effective support weapon at mass elimination in the game. Also does better than the railgun on every large target besides biles. But hey, wouldn’t expect you to run it, your favorite KZbinr hasn’t approved it yet. It’s ok tho, he’ll figure it out soon enough, then you can have fun like those of us who are already using it.

If you're able to hit the Bile Titan's head, the Arc Thrower can 2-3 shot it. It just requires a little positioning. And with the recent update, it can 6 shot a charger. It is the best support weapon in my opinion

For everyone searching through the comments for this, congratulations, you’ve found it! And for those who aren’t, what are you doing so far down? It’s hard to live without light down here. In any case, I’m here to talk about the Diligence. As other people have mentioned, you seemed to focus on viability vs. bugs, which I understand can make the Diligence seem pretty pointless. I’m a console player, so I don’t really have to deal with slow cursor following, but I’m here to say my piece anyways. The Diligence is low armor pen, but has a buttload of damage, destroying a warrior’s head in two shots (to put it in your terms.) It also one-shots scavengers, but with all the bug’s movement, I can understand how it would seem clunky. However, that damage is enough to reliably one-shot light bots. By turning up the magnification to maximum, you can focus down the Commissars, (the commander bots that typically call in drops) in any patrol from a distance. You can also use it to surgically remove rocket bots and turret operators with a single shot. With a mag of 20, hitting the light bots in the head, chest, shoulders, legs, or waist will instantly kill it, and if it doesn’t, will blow off limbs, or stagger for a full 5 seconds. This thing is a patrol destroyer, and still has enough maneuverability to reload on the run, and to hip fire mag-dump into oncoming berserkers. The damage is even enough to two-shot Destroyers if you hit their head. All-in-all, the Diligence is a Bot Destroyer, and remains my main weapon against them, even after using the Breaker. All I’m saying is to give it a chance against the bots, and I promise it will feel better. Sorry for the long comment, I tend to over-write like this, and now I’m too lazy to edit or cut it down. Yeah I'm on PC and the cursor follows for the Diligence just fine, I snap aim all the time no issues. So I'm taking out entire groups of the little bugs really quickly without reloading. It's so good against the bots that it trivializes fighting everything but the bulkier bots. It struggles a bit against armoured enemies, but then basically everything does so...

@@yasamito it does struggle against the tanks and towers, but can kill hulks, and any destroyer with good enough positioning. 3-4 shots to the head can take out any destroyer, 5-6 to the rocket pods on the rocket versions basically neuters them, and about 7 shots to the backpack of a heavy one can kill it entirely. You can damage a hulk if you hit its vents, but it will take a couple clips at minimum. Alone, you struggle, but with allies, you can tear apart most enemies you’ll be encountering.

I think you should give Cluster strike more testing, they are by far best AOE stratagem for dealing with crowds, which are all outside Charger/Titan, and you don't always have room for grenade launcher when you play with 1-2 players that simply have to have railguns to deal with all the chargers and titans. Breaker does a great job of cleaning after a cluster strike if something needed it. I use it in combination with the laser dog for even more crowd control while my friend has the ammo pack for our railguns when we have to run and gun down titans and chargers. I'm finding the guard dog significantly better when you don't have full squad or when the squad doesn't do their part. I love how it just doesn't care how many friendlies it has to beam through to hit the bugs, especially me as the owner, but I've started to notice the patterns whenever I die to it. Most of the time I get beamed when I'm on the high ground and the dog's target is below so ideally avoid high ground, but also be careful on even terrain as it will beam you trying to get at some small cockroach opposite of where the drone is to you so you get caught in the crossfire. Best way to avoid these deaths is adapting playstyle of continuous circling around the bugs when they get close to change the angle of the laser ever so slightly, it re-adjusts itself quickly so it won't cost you must of it's DPS potential and you'll avoid almost all deaths as getting only nicked by the laser won't kill you. While it eats through your stims at increased rate, you'll replenish it whenever you get resupplied and you will need to do that already to rearm your railgun if you use it on every charger and every titan like we do so I feel like it compliments the playstyle the best. I've played games without it and the difference was very noticeable. To be fair this is POV of someone who spent 95% playtime in bug missions, so my whole playstyle is catered around them. The guard dog isn't that good against bots I'm sure, mostly because being in line of sight is a general no-no and it doesn't target enemies further away so it doesn't rack up much damage over the mission, but against bugs it's phenomenal. I can't imagine playing difficulty 7-9 solo/duo without ammo backpack, but I can imagine playing without the energy shield so I'd say ammo is S tier and the energy shield is A tier alongside the laser dog which is just as useful imo.

Jump Pack is top tier, you just don’t know how to use it. It carries your forward momentum, so if you wanna go far you need to sprint a bit first. If you wanna do useless little jumps like this guy was whining about, jump from a stand still or slowed pace. Jump on top of something and go prone and you’ll live forever. Jump over enemies and over rough terrain to give yourself some breathing room. Toss grenades mid flight if you’re feeling like emulating Kobe Bryant. You recover stamina mid air. You can escape certain death. You can place yourself in strategic locations where enemies can’t touch you while you can touch them. This guy just doesn’t have enough creativity or strategy to use it properly or he’d put it in A.

Im surprised that the Hellpod itself didn’t get rated, because it’s low key OP as fuck. If you get used to steering it when you get reinforced, you can kill bile titans, tanks, hulks, and chargers with a single hit if you’re accurate enough. One of the best ways to kill bile titans is to reinforce one of your friends RIGHT under the thing, and then make sure it dosent move too far. If you hit a joint right where it connects to the bile titan’s body, you’re good to go.

After a 600 kill game - the laser cannon is slept on It /does/ pierce armor. It pierces medium armor. It is usable at any range and the endless ammo is important during frantic missions, saving resupplies and ammo boxes for other weapons. It very quickly kills chaff and allows you to behead broods and melt hive guards. It will struggle against chargers, unless someone has stripped a leg. Titan bellies are easy to destroy.

Some shit like a 40mm grenade launcher instead of a primary would be an awesome backup for our real primaries :D The first game had the CR-9 Suppressor and the PLAS-1 Scorcher that acted like this, would love to see them return.

The support laser is my go-to for bugs. The only things it won't pen easily are titans and chargers, and all my friends run things that do. If you can guess where a spore spewer is, you can cross-map it with the laser. It's also great for holding things inside a strike zone. It does not kill fast, but it pops heads, trims limbs, and forces hunkers/dodges very well. It's only failing to penetrate if you see it casting a blue/white light show at the point of impact. The armored things that it will penetrate tend to hunker down and try to weather it. They can't withstand it long, but it'll be a faster kill if you shift to the legs once you've got them turtling.

I watched the whole video. Here are my two cents, critiques, some tips I picked up that eveyone could benefit from. If you don't want to read the whole thing, the short story is that some rankings in this video either lack information/experience or involved personal expectations that resulted in their rankings being lowered. - Anti-materiel Rifle is pretty good at exploiting weakpoints on Automatons. It is not a great weapon, but it is definitely not F tier. - Arc Thrower deserves S tier and too many people sleep on it because of them accidently killing their teammates or disliking the charge up rate. You can one-shot Bile Titans on Helldive difficulty if you aim it above their heads and let the electrical current go through their head and out their ass. In fact, you should always be aiming just above an enemy's head to ensure it hits. The "blue balling" is easily avoidable with good positioning and proper aiming. Plus, its is just generally a good horde-clearing weapon with unlimited ammo and bypasses armor as mentioned in the video. (This weapon combos very well with Jump Pack which will give you the aforementioned good positioning and it will limit the number of obstructions in your view thus allowing the arc to not "blue ball"). - Autocannon has so much versatility in regards to mission objectives. It can take out bug holes, bot fabricators (by ricochetting off the vent), radio stations, eggs, etc. Plus, it can kill pretty much every heavy in the game if you know where to aim excluding Bile Titans. - Flamethrower leaves you too exposed to taking damage from enemies and your own flames. As seen in all of the flamethrower clips, you are taking damage even with a shield generator on. It can be fun and effective occasionally, but honestly the flamethrower is liable to either get you killed or consume all your stims while you're still in arms reach of the enemy. EDIT: New update has made Flamethrower do 50% more damage, so now it negate my aforementioned criticisms. - Jump Pack is a get-out-of-fail-free card when you're surrounded, you can seize the high-ground where bugs can't reach you, fantastic for dodging every attack, and comes in clutch for any situation that requires you to be somewhere you're not currently. Additionally, certain planets have more extreme terrain that offers higher ground like dunes, hills, or mountains which can allow you to cross great distances in seconds which is important considering that longer time spent in a mission equals increased enemy spawnrate. Also, the trajectory is not set; it is determined by your sprint and the direction you are moving. If you're referring to not being able to change trajectory while flying, I say that is not a valid critique of the jump pack's value. Evaluations should look at an asset's advantages and disadvantages, not the preconceived expectations of an advantage. The assessment on Jump Pack was too critical and was clouded by personal expectations. - Orbital Laser is S tier for clearing out bases and other objectives. I don't use Orbital Laser, but I've seen its efficacy at getting mission objectives done efficiently or even clearing waves of enemies if you're in a pinch. - Cluster bombs can clear entire hordes in an instant and your assessment is just straight-up wrong. You say it doesn't reliable kill the lightest of enemies while playing a clip showing it killing every light enemy in front of you. Also, it is the most abundantly available of all the eagle strategems which allows you to be less frugal with how you use them. Not a great strategem against Automatons, but bugs it has great potential. - The Slugger and Senator are very good choices for fighting bots. They one-shot most bots and are great for popping the heads off of the more armored bots. The Breaker and machinepistol are great for bugs, but the Slugger and Senator arguably excel more against Automatons. Everything else I generally agree with or don't have enough experience with to have an opinion of. Good video otherwise.

@@benji7275 Yeah, I was recently thinking, it happens quite often that towards 3/4 of a mission on dif7 or above, you have an endless sea of enemies crawling towards you, so maybe the flamethrower has a use there. I just wish they would have increased the range rather than damage, because as it is, if you're in range, most terminids are too, and then the flamethrower will be useless.

FYI, after the first full charge, you don’t have to charge the arc to full to shoot it. The reason why it sometimes doesn’t fire is due to random in game assets getting in the way, like bodies, shrubs, rocks etc. literally anything. But once you figure it out you can reliably wipe out most bugs by spamming arc really quickly.

I like to run scout with arc thrower shield pack. If I'm playing with friends, I'll run stratagems that clear out groups of small enemies over armor breaking, that way in combination with the arc thrower, I'm the crowd control menace that racks up hundreds more kills than the others while I trust them with the chargers and titans. Then again, you'd be surprised how much damage you deal to titans when using the arc thrower when they open up their weak spot. I find it more reliable to hit them with the arc thrower than the railgun. Since you have infinite ammo and don't have to reload, while both require you to charge, you're way more likely to have a shot charged up while the titan is readying a blast, making titans sometimes die in 2-3 shots depending on how much damage your team has put into it. Though if I'm playing with randos, I typically run off on my own to search for the super samples, thus running arc thrower, shield pack, 500kg (or railcannon, since having a charger chase me halfway across the map is annoying), and the airstrike. Allows me to handle most medium encounters on my own. Side note, you forgot to tier-list the boosters.

I love bringing supply backpack most of the time. The supply backpack not only reload you ammo, but also your grenade and stim. So if your teammate is out of stim or grenade you could actually refill theirs with your supply. Supply backpack can also be a backup storage of supply drop if there are any surplus. As even if your gears are full, you can still pickup the supply drop and replenish the backpack.

For the 40 minute bug missions, I really like to bring arc thrower, guard dog rover, 500 kg bomb, and orbital laser/eagle airstrike depending on difficulty, laser for thoughtless charger destruction on challenge 5 and 6 and airstrike for quick objective/horde destruction on 7+. This leads to a good solo build where you run off and complete side objectives and clear bug nests while the rest of the team deals with the main objective. Swarms are no problem, and you can deal with anything up to chargers with the arc thrower and enough patience. It can get hard when there's more than 2 circling around, but as long as you remember you can charge up the arc thrower while diving it shouldn't be too bad. The guard rover helps a lot with dealing with the solitary hunters and scavengers that escape your electric torrents so you don't have to waste time shooting them down. There are two main drawbacks: First is the amount of friendly fire the arc thrower and guard dog are capable of, so don't fire the arc thrower if a teammate is within ~50m (longer if a swarm can extend the bolt) and 45 degrees to either side of your target to be safe. Second is that this requires you to have control over the situation at all times; if bugs get too close then the arc thrower becomes useless and the guard rover can hit you, so bring a breaker and medic armor to be able to escape with your life if needed.

It doesn't kill Bile Titans efficiently, and it's much harder to break the crushers armour, (even with unsafe firing). So the meta has shifted to using the disposable anti-tank against bugs. Versus bots, its pretty much unchanged. Good against hulks, devastators, turrets and tanks.

Arc thrower and flame thrower are both so underrated. They are so good at crowd control and very practical as anti armor

I must say It's unscientific to make a single tier list for both factions, because of how different they play. We need a split tier list.

yes and no. some things are just as good/viable regardless of faction, and some are msotly only good against a specific faction. and if something is just as good against both then it should get a higher tier than something that is really good against only one. for example auto cannon, wich is not very good at all against bugs imo, its more a good utility tool than a weapon against bugs, but one of the best anti bot weapons in the game.

I'm a simple man. I hear Shamburger, I leave a like. I've been maining the supply backpack for a while now, people sleep on it hard. You can wear it with support weapons like the grenade launcher, AMR, both mgs, and flamethrower and it gives you massive amounts of extra ammo. It gives you 8 extra stims and grenades on hand at all times, it double dips from the resupply strategem, and it refills primary and secondary ammo mags twice as much as the ammo boxes on the ground. One self use will give you 7 defender mags, 4 auto pistol mags, and either 4 flamer canisters or 3 stalwart boxes. And of course all of this can be shared with teammates in an emergency. You're a walking ammo dump with it. And the cooldown is short enough that you can hand out and use ammo constantly and go through 3 or 4 backpacks in a single mission and never feel strained, and it leaves all the random ammo boxes and resupply boxes for your team.

It’s interesting, other people on KZbin have different opinions, which is just fine. I like the auto cannon. It’s my go to support weapon for bugs and automatons. I’d put it in S tier. Works well taking out medium armour enemies and can take out heavies in the right circumstances. Does some splash damage for the hordes. Also you can snipe the shrooms, but nests, automaton factories, other objectives. Sometimes from across the map. Love it!

I started playing 2 days ago and in my experience the orbital airburst is really good! it has a greater aoe effect than the gattling barrage which makes it incredible in whiping an entire bot drop / patrol in one quick go leaving only the heavier enemies for you to fight and even then they'll have one foot in the grave by the time you start shooting. For bugs it works really well at clearing bug holes from any enemies present so you can calmly walk in and close them up with either grenades or support weapons. Add in that the input to call it is : ->, ->, ->, it lands in 1 second and the cool down is super short. And you can just whip this out instantly whenever you need some breathing room. I don't have all the stratagems yet so I can't say I'll keep using it, but for now It's a permanent stay in my stratagem loadout along side the eagle strike. (Note I currently am playing mostly on difficulties 3 to 5, depending on if I'm playing with friends or randoms)

I find the 380 to be very effective on MECH bases as they are more spread out. It may not take down all the things but it clears it out so that once the barrage ends someone can safely run in there and grenade anything left over. It's more or less a safety net. It also helps you can sneak up on a blind side, chuck it in, and run away. It's not really meant to destroy everything. Just thin the contents enough so your other tools can break in safely.

My load out for 7's and 8's right now is a catch all loadout: Eagle strike for AoE Precision strike to help with anti tank, or if you have someone already as a dedicated anti tank, you can swap this to a sentry. EAT for hyper consistent anti tank (the trick is you use them off cool down if you don't already have an EAT on your person, so every fight you have 3 total EAT's) And supply pack The main bread and butter of the loadout is the Defender. It does consistent, high power damage. EAT on a charger leg and if you hit 2/3 of your mag on the leg and it's down. Very consistent and strong for that. The defender can also be walked with in a direction and shot while walking, which allows retreats to still let you take out enemies. It's a slept on mechanic of it. The last piece of the kit is the explode on contact grenades. These take out the medium armor that the defender struggles with, which the supply pack gives you back 2 grenades per self use. This build also gives so many stims it's crazy. With a max of 12 stims (4 starting, and 2 more per supply pack), you become a walking one man unit capable of any threat. I've dabbled with swapping normal eagle airstrike for cluster bombs and have seen middling success. If your team is light on horde clear, it's not a bad option. I consistently get 15-20 kills with cluster and only ~10 with normal. The extra use doesn't really come into play all that often, but it's nice

Honestly, my favourite loadout for bugs especially, is the following Breaker Shotgun MAC 10 Pistol SMG Rover Drone with Laser Flamethrower Cluster Bomb Eagle 500KG Eagle Flamethrowers are great against everything the bugs can throw at you. Really a jack of all trades. The drone gives ample cover for your flanks. I think they were adjusted during the last update. And the clusters and 500kg are fantastic when you are in a fighting retreat to the next objective

Last night I was running the machine gun, guard dog rover, eagle airstrike, orbital railcannon, the breaker, the smg secondary, impact grenades, heavy armor that offers 2 extra stims and 2 extra seconds of stim affect, and the stamina enhancement booster while on a suicide mission level difficulty bugs mission. I was able to grab a nice 585 kills and help a lot with the objectives as well. The guard dog rover helps a lot too while reloading the machine gun.

MG-43 and auto cannon are A tier. A duo running this can control the map. The problem with most KZbinrs takes are lack of implementation. The MG-43 can deal with brood commanders with ease. I’ve taken out plenty of patrols by starting from biggest to smallest. As a machine gunner you’re not there to deal with the big guys, you’re there as crowd control

Also other thing that I've found is pretty effective: Recoilless rifle; teammate runs the backpack and a high consumption weapon while you run a supply pack. You get an incredibly high output of AP, especially useful for shooting down strings of drop ships or chargers. It's even better with the new update that makes recoilless one tap headshot chargers, and once you run out of recoilless rounds you get to throw ammo at them and refill their grenade launcher.

A couple takes on this video 1.) The eagle cluster bomb is actually pretty good and can get a bunch of kills (the highest I've gotten is 54), and it's great at clearing areas 2.) The jump pack is also really good. It can get you out of really sketchy situations, and getting the high ground is always nice, and it is also really good at making you go around the map faster, being able to skip gooing down big hills 3.) The regular diligence is also really good it actually follows your cursor pretty well (unlike the counter sniper version). It does good damage (one shots, the little bugs and regular bots, and 2 shots all meduim bots in the face). The variable zoom is great and useful.

A good loadout I've been using is the jump pack, grenade launcher combination. I like being fast and hitting objectives hard, then disappearing. But the main focus is speed and maneuverability with everything you do. I think with a lot of practice, the jump pack can really be effective. Throw in a 500KG strategem and you're pretty lethal. That leaves you with one open strategem slot to play with. I either use the autocannon or mortar sentries and primarily place them on higher elevations with the best fields of fire. I've also found that it's really good at aggro/crowd control. So I'll put on my light weight armor with the extra grenades buff, my trusty auto shotty, machine pistol and I'm juking bugs/bots left and right.

I see your point with the 120 and 380 orbital barrages Counterpoint; Have all 4 Helldivers run those two at the same time, and coordinate your entire squad to call down HELL at the same time “Temper, Temper”

The autocannon is like the finger of god snuffling out whatever you want dead. Murders everything. Destroys hordes and heavy targets alike. Makes the grenade launcher look like a nerf gun compared in range and damage. The autocannon also has crazy utility destroying things on the map (Turrets, nests,). It needing a backpack is the only thing keeping it from SSS Tier, and probably keeps it at the high end of A. It would otherwise just be an auto-pick all the time no matter what.

For the arc thrower in the clip you mentioned it not firing if you don't charge it enough but it was actually blocked by your personal shield. Its likely a bug because when the shield is down it doesn't happen nearly as much if at all. Also, the arc thrower can reliably 3 shot most enemies that aren't Hulkers and tanks for the robots so its much better for bots then bugs. You don't need to fully charge the arc thrower after the first shot and you can rapid fire it by charging it about 75% of the way. You have to learn the sweet spot but you definitely do not have to charge it the entire length.
