I finally learned to do bunnyhop barspins today because of this video! I could do pullup bars like blind and had almost perfect form in the air but every time I trew the bars my feet come of like insantly. The best advice you gave was to not do these mini hop bars. I never tried that before so I gave it a shot and It gave me so much confedence after I landed some half bars (because the airtime was to little for a full barspin) that I tried some real hop bars and actually landed some after a while. So the best advice you gave me was pretty much the exact opposite of what youu meant THANK YOU SO MUCH :-) :-) :-)

any tips on letting go? i have all the motions dialed i can hop high enough but i can't let go, can't let go flyout either
@DustinNotJustin7 жыл бұрын
For me, I feel like I use my wrist to get that snapping motion. I would keep practicing the pull up bar or even just the standing still and throw. Or you can do inbetween: keep the wheel down and just throw it while your moving slowly.

Good video. I'm all fucked up as well. Only thing I do dominantly with my left hand is writing, the rest is random. I turn to the left for airs, but kick to whip with my right leg, everything is a mess.

Should I just throw hard as possible or try pass it around? I can do pickup bars with my eyes closed but I can't seem to learn hop bars or barspins for my life lol. I think the closest barspin I got was both hands on and 1 foot off.
@DustinNotJustin7 жыл бұрын
JannyUK yeah. Bunnyhop as high as possible and throw as hard as possible. You can also practice on like a flyout/lip to flat so you can work on the throw technique without having to worry as much on the hopping

I have trouble with the throwing, I throw the bars like X-up Could you tell me what I can do to throw it well. I guess is fear man
@DustinNotJustin6 жыл бұрын
Leonardo Biggemann that is exactly the problem. You just gotta be confident in letting go. BUT I’d say just practice on flat (not bunnyhop) like just lifting the bars and throwing with your strong hand. Just get used to that motion and throw it hard so you get used to catching at that speed too

hey. is a 26.5 (about) lb bike good for beginners?? have argued with my uncle for like 6 hours over it being 2 pounds heavier than mine. he feels that 2 more pounds is a big difference.
@DustinNotJustin7 жыл бұрын
FlatWoodz BMX 2lbs does make a difference, but for a beginner, it shouldn't really matter since they have nothing to compare to. A 26lbs bike is very reasonable. When I first started riding, my bike was probably like 35lbs. Pretty sure my current bike is around 26 too so you should be good to go

Hey dustin my barspin is x throw any tips to correct that?
@DustinNotJustin5 жыл бұрын
The Checkup I used to do those too when I first started doing barspins. I keep working on using that throwing arm like do pull up bars to get the motion of that. But I believe the reason most people do that is because they don’t have good grip on the seat with their knees/shins. So adjust your seat to where you can really pinch it good
@thecheckup46975 жыл бұрын
@@DustinNotJustin yeah i think it's the seat too because i don't have a fat seat that's why i can't pinch it good

dude what am i supposed to do when i can only do it half ways like a half bar because i am like dropping my bike down dont know why but that is what i am always doing
@DustinNotJustin6 жыл бұрын
Jey. A good tip is to adjust your seat. Either the height of it or the angle, but you gotta find the right spot where you can grip it with your knees or shins. That way when you squeeze it with your legs, your bike doesn’t move around. It’s not impossible to do it without pinching the seat but it’s a lot harder
@DustinNotJustin6 жыл бұрын
So practice bunnyhopping and then pinching your seat

When I try to throw the bars my brain tells me to get off the bike befor i throw it.. and also when i hop I cant let go of the bars cuz Im holding on too tight. I cant hop without holding my bars firm and when i hold them firm I cant let go in the air..

I've got decent problem. In 2016 I was able to do bars, 180 bars, cab bars and whatever... After half a year of not doing barspins, I can't let the bars go. I am fucking mad, it takes me an hour to do one and it looks like shit and I barely leave the ground. Mostly my front foot slips in the half of the spin... I am pretty sad and can't find a solution for this problem. I tried taping my feet to pedals, but it was too scary.
@DustinNotJustin6 жыл бұрын
FilipSK that’s a pretty weird problem considering I can’t do spin + barspin tricks at all lol umm did something change on your bike? Bigger bars? Lower seat? Heavier?
@Filip_41306 жыл бұрын
DustinNotJustin I change my setup all the time, but in 2016 it was not an issue. I was trying to find the best setup for barspins.... I was doing barspins on 8,5 8,75 9,5 10inch bars 48-52mm stems, toploads frontloads and still had 'em on lock. I rocked lower seat and was able to pinch it (maybe because, I am about 20cm taller now). I can't find a solution, today I landed about 5 barspins, yesterday probably 15, but it takes my hours to land 'em... I can't do them over obstacles or drop smth, I can do them flat ground only. I hate that I am able to let the bars go about every 10th bunnyhop and there is a big chance, that it will be a one-footed barspin and I won't land it. My friend has got the same problem for about 8 years and no progress. I am scared, that I will end up like him. He was doing hop trucks in 2009 and now every single barspin he does is one-footed...
@DustinNotJustin6 жыл бұрын
FilipSK hmmm that’s an odd problem. Wanna DM me a video of you doing one? Might be easier to help if I can see what you’re doing
@Create_o_raptor6 жыл бұрын
My issue is that I take my feet off the pedals before I throw the bars cuz I feel that If I don't .. My knee is gonna get in the way .
@DustinNotJustin6 жыл бұрын
DINO IDEAS you need to squeeze the backside of your seat more with your knees or shins. If you’re having issues with that, adjust your seat (raise or lower your post) because I personally can’t barspin for shit when my seat is super low
@DustinNotJustin6 жыл бұрын
Or try angling the seat a different position too to make it grip your legs better
@Create_o_raptor6 жыл бұрын

hmm..i would have to see it. My guess is you're leaning over too much but it could be a transfer in weight when you're about to throw (like pulling with 1 hand too hard, causing weight to transfer funny). so you might have to work on your throw to be stronger
