Random tip: If you feel like you have already learned enough smc/ict and need practical experience, just demo this strategy. It's just vague/discretionary enough that it constantly invites you to overtrade or take suboptimal setups, which you can learn to overcome, because there are also very beautiful setups that are complete no-brainers, so this strategy helps you with learning patience. Also it's high frequency, so you'll get a lot of experience fast.

Spread and commission need to be factored in. What seemed like a 5R trade was in reality a 3R one due to spread and commissioning, deteriorating the edge of this strategy. The concept of liquidity sweep still remains valid, however. Hunt for sweeps of PDH, PDL, PWH, PWL, Session High and Lows, Old HTF Swing and Lows instead of random M1 swings.

mulham, with a 1 handle stop loss, your commisions & spreads are gonna be very high almost reaching 50% of your risk. so even with a 6r risking 1 % on a 1handle stop loss. the reward usually ends up being significantly reduced to around 2R after commissions. & on the 2nd trade your stop loss is furthermore small isnt it? its almost like 0.2 handles. the risk to reward will not be at all what it shows after commisions and spreads.
@MulhamTrading Жыл бұрын
I do trade this with 0.25%-0.5% risk, GU or EU with zero spread, and usually I go with 3-7 pips sl and it is going fine. Can you confirm if you are only talking about indices?
@nuksxnn69 Жыл бұрын
@@MulhamTrading no mulham, i am actually including forex as well. as you say here 3-7 pips is okay, but in the video. your stop loss on first 2 trades were 0.9 and 0.6 handles right. so lets say we want to risk 100$ on a trade on GU, on a 0.6 handle it would be 17lots and with a basic 5$/lot with zero spread thats a 80$ / 80% commission itself on a 100$ risk. so the RR when we see the equity will be significantly less as a 2r trade will end up being a 1r due to recovery of commissions.

Seeing and understanding these concepts is pretty straightforward, but something that would help newer traders like myself would be mastering trade EXECUTION whether it be directly in TradingView or an external software such as MT4. Could you maybe consider posting a video of executing trades in real time on either or even both platforms? Actually having the confidence and speed of entering trades is where I generally make my mistakes or outright miss great trade opportunities.
