At this point, I just don't think Apple is in their right mind. I've been eyeing an iPad mini for a while now, but what holds me back is the jelly screen.

Don’t let that hold you back I’ve just purchased a refurbed one off back market and it’s best tech decision I’ve made I absolutely love it and hardly notice the jelly scrolling if at all, it’s replaced my horrible overheating mess of a 2018 MacBook Pro and now use the iPad mini in conjunction with my Mac mini m2

As a pilot, this thing is by far the best iPad for the cockpit, preparing flights on the ground and just day to day use at home! I’d jump at a mini pro!

Even till today this iPad mini is relevant. 5g connectivity, wifi 6, usb 3 speed port, dense ppi screen. A15 Bionic. This device does not feel sluggish at all. I will rather get a A17 any day than a M series. Battery life is important, no need for a high performance chip. Been able to push to 1TB. OLED display, maintain the USB 3 SPEED port minimally. I am really willing to pay for that upgrade. Please make it happen Apple.

I love iPad mini as well and it's the best tech product I've ever had. Shame it's a baseline model that only has basic or lower spec / features. it would have so much more potential if it had a more powerful chip like the M series, Pencil Pro support or a OLED screen. it would be an ultimate portable machine for both entertainment and productivity, but only if Apple is willing to make it happen.

The problem with Apple is that Tim Cook does not want a cannibalize the products. It'd rather put an all-powerful chip in a gimped operating system.. The iPad mini would be an ultimate device for many people like myself. But I'm struggling to make the jump now to the iPad mini.

I mean you know that they won’t do this. Apple is planning a foldable and an iPad of a similar size might cannibalise the sales of the foldable. Plus, the data supports that iPad mini sells less than other models. At this point, forget the M series chip and oled, we’d be lucky to get the A17 Pro and 120hz, period. I hardly think they’d do anything else. Plus if they introduce iPad OS features in WWDC, I think the mini is too small to use them and they obviously won’t customise the OS specifically for a product that sells less.
