Big trouble and little china is my favorite movie of all time. I was 12 when I went to the theater and saw that and stays with me to this day. There is no movie that I have more fun with than big trouble in little China.

As others say...Snake is definitely the more formidable character, but Jack Burton is such a loveable sidekick in his own story that he is the one you want to meet and hang out with. Snake is the guy you want when there is a President who needs saving...much better than Idris Elba, as great as he is. And if you get that joke, you must be a Cyberpunk fan. LOL

The whole point of big trouble is that Jack is an incompetent, un-Kurt Russell like idiot/buffon. His inclusion here is based on the “technicality” that HE IS being played by Kurt Russell. Technical answer: Jack, despite the character being, purposefully, the antithesis of Kurt Russell. Answer in spirit of the 1980s Kurt Russell badass: Snake. My head hurts.

I used to watch Big Trouble in Little China on repeat. I'd take it over Escape from New York without a second's hesitation. Jack over Snake, all the way!! Goofy and lovable and willing to fight for a damsel in distress-- one he just met-- over surly and deadly, any day.

I remember going to see big trouble in Little China because it was a John Carpenter, Kurt Russell flick for some reason not having high expectations, but after leaving the theater, realizing it was a guilty pleasure. I couldn’t help but feeling it was the funnest movie I’ve ever seen! And decades later, I still feel the exact same way😊

However I have watched both Esacpe From New York and Big Trouble In Little China a helluva lot more than any other movies Russell has appeared in. There are plenty of other Kurt Russell gems I really like. I feel that Used Cars doesn't get enough love and nor does Overboard, that movie he did with Goldie Hawn before they married. There's loads of others too.

Ending with a draw but for different reasons. 3 of my top 5 favorite movies are carpenter films. 1 Yojimbo 2 the thing 3 escape from NY 4 big trouble in little China 5 alien. So yeah big shoes. I watched "Escape from New York" later in life and honestly found it a little dull and boring. "Big Trouble in Little China" I always caught bits and pieces of TV as a kid and the utter wackiness and insanity made my childhood. Only one of these movies gave us Mortal Kombat, and it's the one I'd watch on a desert island a hundred times over.

Escape(NY) is the better movie, but I would always prefer to watch Big Trouble. It's got just the tone and atmosphere I adore. Escape is too dark, sorry. It's Jack for me.

Enjoyable video but I think it has the wrong conclusion. Big Trouble is the better overall movie. What stood out to me is the friends & allies section. Maggie’s melons are a pair of friends I’d love to have & hold. Must say a good Wang is something every guy needs to have especially when there’s a Maggie around. That section really is a draw. Obviously I’m a ridiculous smart@ss that’s why I lean towards Jack over Snake. Need to jack the snake now, take it easy ;)
