Kovács Máté 1500 euro's is the lowest here, which is a good 1300 pounds, so not as cheap as in the UK but in range. I guess the UK benefits from being an isolated market for cars.

I have to say, the production value and the attention to detail is amazing in these videos, not once did I see a camera man or pursuit car, and both were used during these at angles where they'd normally be seen by each other, I didn't even see a shadow! So props to whoever you have as DP!

I just checked the "Private party Value" of a 2002 is300 with 100k miles and the price is $4500-5100 usd (£3600-4000 gbp). Trade-in value $3500 / £2800.

It's 2021 and I still drive a well maintained 2004 model. The money it burns on petrol it saves on maintenance. I'm not saving on maintenance, it's just that nothing expensive ever breaks. It's supremely well built and whenever I drive another car I'm reminded on how lucky I am with my visceral, durable, tough built and pleasantly heavy vehicle in a field of light weight flimsy 3 cilinder sowing needle jars. Lexus set the bar so high for me that I can never drive anything less anymore. The biggest luxury is driving in any weather, any country, completely desolate, and worry about anything but the thing breaking down. I'm not getting rid of it until it falls to pieces.

The IS200 would be a fun car to do. It's a very balanced car and in fact tons of drifters pick this car. It has even competed in the Super Taikyu endurance race thus it would last. There's quite a tall order to do though to make it competitive. The most important as of now is to overhaul that tired engine entirely to gain back said lost HP and pot it. Next slap a 4-pot brake set on it with some Blistein or TEIN shocks (TEIN Super Street preferable) and you could consider a aftermarket supercharger or turbo upgrade. HKS does make parts for that car still so it should be easy to get. Have fun Alex.

I got one of these mini tanks. Paid 700 quid for it. 2001 with 110k on the clock. Runs sweet as a nut and still does 4 years later. Spend about another 2000 on supercharing+ exhaust and lowering. Great motors. Love em.

Literally just bought the Toyota Variant of this, and holy damn am I impressed with this video, it really does the car justice. Mine is 2003, 1G-FE, J160 Gearbox, with the A03B diff, which is identical to the Lexus he's driving. This video is gonna help me a lot :D

so, about economy: on our trip through germany and austria, with some autobahn/mountain roads/country roads and admittedly not that much city driving, we averaged 8.4L/100km. that's 25 US MPG, 33.4 UK MPG. 2 people and a not insignificant amount of luggage. now that's not outstanding considering this is a 155 horsepower car, but it's not nearly as shit as i was told. also, while it doesn't have bucket loads of power, the gearing is very short and tightly stacked. it's a blast to drive on a tight and twisty road, without getting you into trouble.

IS200>GT86.... like i am not a bit suprised that the time was so close. That lexus is just a higher class vehicle. 15 year old engine, crap tires, brakes and syspension and it does that. Everybody saying they should have got a altezza rs200 have missed out the whole point of the series-BUDGET. A manual altezza rs200 here in the UK is about 4x what this is200 costs!

JA0798 gaming the altezza as200 is basically the same as the is200(1gfe engine 6 cylinder=155hp). The altezza rs200 has a 4 cylinder 210hp yamaha tuned beams engine (3gse) other then that they are more a less the same, few interior bits are different like you can get altezza with fully cloth interior and manually adjusted seats, and think you can get non sunroof altezzas but apart from that they are the same car. (lexus always had atleast half leather/heated/electric seats and think they all had sunroof)

What you really want is the JDM Toyota Altezza with the 3SGE beams motor with 207wph, a factory lsd and a 6 speed manual gear box. I live in New Zealand and that what i currently drive and it drives like a dream, all I've done to it is lowered it on tein racing coilovers. Looking forward to this series, hopefully i can get some tips for my own car!

Stiffer suspension, new grippy tires and a front torsion bar will make its already not bad power band more usable, especially on a race track but if you'll still upgrade the intake and exhaust system of the IS200 it will become a monster

I bet serious money that if he went into the GT86 AFTER he did the Lexus, he'd be much quicker. You learn the quirks of the track more and more the more times you go. After his sixth go (3 in the Toyota, 3 in the Lexus), he probably could have demolished his 3rd go (in the Toyota).
