Recently I've been wearing Frost Walker boots and spawning the wither on a lily pad in the middle of the ocean. It's a fun, challenging way to kill it without any real preparations, or having to cheese it. Frost Walker will freeze you a path, so strafe left and right and the ocean will fill in anything he blows up. Good fun

Here's a tip I don't see often: Before fighting the wither in BE console like Xbox or Ps, go down to settings and turn off tile drops. This stops the blocks from dropping when a wither destroys an environment. Then you can simply turn it back on once it's been defeated

Yep I found turning off tile drops is the only way to make the fight doable. Another fun tip is to bring a loaf of eggs, to spawn baby chicks to get wither roses.

Tip: Using tipped arrows of healing will damage the wither more . Also use a power V bow with it and hit the wither with the axe(any type) that has smith(5). But make sure to wear your best armour to be protected from heavy damage. Hope ya'll have a nice day not ragequiting because of dying to the wither. 😘

From my experience with the Bedrock Wither, the 2nd phase is almost impossible. Every time I have tried to fight the wither he flies away and I cant hit him with my sword. And don't forget the dash attack if you are in hard mode...

For the more authentic fight you can kite the wither with a potion of swiftness. It's fairly easy to completely dodge its attacks, whilst still shooting it with your bow. (I've only ever done this in Java)

IMPORTANT!! If you're trying to fight him on pocket edition; TURN OFF TILE DROPS!! This is the only thing that makes fighting the wither at all possible on PE. Turning off tile drops stops blocks from dropping and turning the game into a power point presentation lol.

Hey I used the underground battle method in Java 1.19 just now on Normal diff. and it worked better than I would've expected. The Wither despawned just as the initial Strength II and Regen. potions were expiring. Cheers and Merry Christmas to you!

In Bedrock edition, getting tipped arrows of healing II is very easy. Using a Power V bow and healing II arrows will chunk through the Wither's health, even in hard difficulty of bedrock edition

If you hold a bow in your off hand, and a looting 3 knockback sword in your main hand, you will get the looting and knockback effects from the sword when your shoot your bow. (Java only)

if you want more wither skeletons make more nether brick if you add more around the chunks of a fortress they seem to spawn more efficiently and fun fact other mobs cannot spawn on wither roses so if you get enough of those you can make an efficient farm they also run away from dogs. Sidenote: The wither is undead smite and healing potions do damage to it it would be a decent idea to make a smite 5 sword for not just killing the wither but harvesting the skeleton skulls and make healing potions into splash potions they do damage and heal you at the same time also are generally faster to use than drinking it. If you beat the dragon use healing arrows instead of instant damage arrows as they also do more damage.

I've been doing the "Java End Wither Fight" a few times now, and it always ends up causing some, actually very minor, destruction to the area around my house (but never the house itself...?). For example, I have a bubble elevator outside of my house, and some of the glass always ends up missing when I return from the Wither fight, and it's always in the same spot. After the first time this happened, I have always made backups before the fight, to use if it happens again, and it does. Behind the house, there can be a hole, much like the ones creepers make, and there can be INDIVIDUAL BLOCKS missing in random places that don't make sense. My respawn point is the bed inside my house, so does the wither somehow shoot his skulls through the end portal above his head and into my house, but it passes through the walls and breaks the same bubble elevator, and a few other random places, and somehow this all is happening when the overworld is not...rendered? I'm still so highly confused about this. Edit: I suspected that I maybe should have watched the complete segment of the video. Still very interesting! I will fix my fight spot now.

As of 1.20.72, it seems that they finally fixed the Bedrock edition wither exploit since bonemealing the mushroom beneath makes the wood of the tree skip the end gateway block but still continues growth on the bedrock on top, making breaking the gateway impossible. Instead, what I did was using the red mushroom + podzol method where you place the podzol at the same level as the very bottom bedrock block but with 1 block space between that and the podzol. Then plant a red mushroom on that podzol and bonemeal it. Sometimes the red mushroom grows a block too tall and you just take down the big mushroom and replant again until it finally destroys the gateway.

1 Dig up to the upper bedrock in the nether. 2 Blow up the area looking for some sort of 2x2x2 hole. 3 From the lowermost bedrock block count two blocks down of space for walking. Cover the floor with a double layer of obsidian and make some walls as well. Now you have your arena. 4 Under your selected hole summon the Wither. You can soften him up with arrows at first, then aproach with a smite V sword. You can also directly aproach him with melee after he explodes. The wither tends to ascend into the hole, leaving the lower part of its body exposed. The hole blocks both its vision and most of its skull attacks. It will descend once it deploys its shield, so kill him quickly. 5 The arena should have recieceved a little damage from the blue wither skulls, repair it after each battle. 6 Optional: At least in java 1.16.5 the Wither's second phase is NOT immune to rockets from a crossbow. You can effectively range him all the way with a quickcharge crossbow and 7 star fireworks if you are still not feeling confident. 7 Optional: If you are gonna make a habit of killing withers for wathever purpose you can try to place some beacons over the arena by going through bedrock. Bonus points if you build it all over a nether fortress for quicker skull farming.

I have found that for Bedrock edition, the “normal” method is easier than spawning the wither underground. The bedrock wither seems to like to move around a lot more. I find it a lot easier to actually gets hits on him. Also, spawning him underground makes him break a lot blocks, which drop and cause a lot of lag. For reference, I play on PE on Hard Mode.

Safest Option: Sacrificing a End Gateway to cheeze the Wither Least Laggest Option and might be the most optimal option(if your playing on your phone or have a slow device try using this method): On The Middle of a Lake (a decent size one) or an Ocean Worst Option: Fighting the wither Underground

You don't have to use weird glitches to easily kill the wither. You can use iron golems to kill it quite quickly. Inside a mountain or deep underground, create a room that's in the neighborhood of 12x12x3. Make the entrance to this area two blocks high. Using a couple rows of obsidian as the wall on this side is a good idea. At the back of the room, place the soul sand formation (or three across, if you want to speed things up by spawning three at a time). About three blocks in front of that, create a line of blocks across the room, so that there's a two-block-high gap between the front and back of the room. Create a half dozen or so iron golems behind that line. When you summon the wither(s), the golems will take notice and try to close the distance. The whole point of the line of blocks is to keep them away until the explosion goes off, which will destroy the line of blocks and let the iron golems start to attack the wither. With six to eight golems and a single wither, the fight usually lasts just a few seconds. With three withers and a few more golems, things can get a bit more chaotic. You'll want a supply of blocks nearby to rebuild the room between fights. The main point of summoning more than one wither at a time is to reduce the number of times you rebuild. If you're looking to get a whole lot of wither roses, then use this same room, but instead of golems, surround the wither spawn with a large number of full bee hives, placed to block the entrances so that the bees remain inside. When the wither explodes, the bee hives will be destroyed, and a horde of angry bees will emerge. The bees will do a fair bit of damage to the wither, but mostly be slaughtered, leaving behind a large number of wither roses. A final tip, useful when killing additional withers for more beacons, is to use the existing beacons you've already created to supply strength, resistance, and regeneration to this wither fighting area.

I tried it Yesterday before watching this Video. I died when I almost got him. I went back and almost all my items where gone. The only thing that was left was a stack of netherack and a few potions. He destroyed my max enchanted Netherite Armor, Sword, Bow and Elytra. I worked for hours for this eqiupment :( I know that netherite can't even burn in lava, so I didn't even think about the possibility that I could loose my items... It completly sense that a few GLAS bottles survived and my full netherite equipment got destroyed.

When I grow the fungus under the end gateway... it doesn't destroy it. I've tried going through a whole stack of fungus, I tried doing i directly beneath the gateway, off to one side, or several at once, I tried using multiple kinds of fungus... no matter what, the end gateway is unaffected. I would just like to say that in terms of strategy, the Ender Dragon is smarter than the Wither when comes to attacking the player, and here's why! The Wither just keeps on attacking the player instead of trying something different. Okay the Wither in Bedrock edition is tons more harder than Java. But like as soon as as he gets to have where he has his shield he approaches you and gets up close. If it was me, I think I you try to get you from a distance since I know that only melee weapons will work then I pretty much have the advantage. The Ender Dragon on the other hand is smarter because instead of attacking you relentlessly he attacks you, flies away for a bit, and then attacks you again when you least expect it. And it doesn’t make things easier since you will never beat him until you take out all of the end crystals.

If you fight the Wither underground on Bedrock, maybe bring night vision potions, but also be prepared for a ton of lag. The dash attack breaks and drops any block it touches quickly causing a ton of lag on devices not capable of handling hundreds of loose blocks. You might find caves as the blocks are breaking causing other mobs to wander in or lava.

I never understood why wither skull rates were so damn low, i mean, they are literally just their heads! Logically, you should be able to pick them up from their dead bodies! That's why I use a datapack that significantly increases skull drop rates (it's 25% with looting 3). That being said, I also have a wither skeleton farm, so the skulls are almost junk at this point. Right now the only thing I use Withers for is literally mining deepslate. Though it is very frustrating that you have to both make it break as much deepslate as possible and at the same time be quick enough so that the items won't despawn. This generally leaves me with 2/3 of shulker box worth of cobbled deepslate per Wither and 1,5-2 stacks of tuff, which I damp on the spot. I hate tuff for being so common yet not being able to be converted into anything useful (stairs, slabs, walls). It just sits there, with no purpose, tuff being tuff.

I just fought the Wither an hour ago on my Pocket Edition (phone) Hardcore world (I limit myself to one death, there isn't actually Hardcore mode) with full Protection IV Netherite helmet, chestplate and leggings; boots had Fire Protection III. My arsenal was a Smite V Netherite sword, Power IV Bow, three Strength II potions, three Night Vision potions (8:00), two Regeneration II potions, three Golden Apples, two Totems of Undying and a stack of steak. The battle took place at bedrock in the Overworld, far from my base. The first half was pretty easy, absorbing almost no damage, there was no lag (yet), and in just one minute, I had him down to half health. Now, I forgot that the Wither blasts out when turning to melee only, so that used up one of my Totems. From here, the battle just became 10x worse. I was lagging with about I'd say 8FPS from the amount of tile drops and destruction. At this point, I just wanted to get out, but I stupidly underestimated the dude and made no exit. I had made a long-ish exit, but he destroyed it with ease. I could not even get near him and get a hit off with his speed and my lag combined. I look at my health bar with ALL of my consumables and Totems used up, and I was at TWO hearts. I already knew at that point that this was the end of me and my world, and it didn't take long before I was blown up. So now for my advice on fighting the Wither on phone, on Hard mode/ Hardcore: just don't go into battle with one of these guys. Without my lag, I would have definitely defeated him, but since I'm on mobile with a standard phone, I doubt there was any chance of victory. If you do decide to battle the Wither, I highly suggest NOT doing it deep underground in the Overworld. Instead, battle him on a flat surface in the Overworld, FAR from any of your bases/ creations, prepared with everything I used and more. Go from Golden Apples to Enchanted Golden Apples, two Totems to six totems, just improve wherever you can. Lastly, you can just trap the Wither in the End Gateway Portal, but I didn't want my first Wither fight on this world to be such a joke, I wanted to fight it the proper way. In conclusion, the Wither fight on Pocket Edition is DEFINITELY the hardest and most dangerous battle there is.

Don’t use knock back especially on blazes! It gives them more time to shoot fire and you could end up knocking a wither skeleton off into lava/out of reach!

Trust me guys, go under ground, make 4 or 5 iron golems, they will fight and kill it for you. super super easy.

I wanted to add that if you are playing this on a console (in particular a Switch) the lag gets so bad it makes this fight nearly (or completely) impossible. Many Switch users gave up on fighting this. I recently had the same issues and my Switch froze at 0 fps trying to fight the Wither in phase 2. So, I went with fighting it in the rain with Riptide III in open ocean and it worked great, with 0 lag on the Switch. It was actually a fun fight. I would just say for anyone trying it, do do the following: Potion of Night Vision, Potion of Strength II, Potion of water breathing (in case he goes under the water), potion of slow fall x2 (mandatory unless you have elytra), some golden apples and good food. And of course a max enchanted trident with Riptide III. I made a small platform with the wither frame and a bed and waited for it to start raining in the middle of the ocean, and summoned him as soon as it started raining (rain lasts a minimum of 10 minutes, so more than enough time). On the Switch the only time it tried to lag was one time as I was falling down switching potions in my inventory I went under water and the Wither charge attacked through the ocean floor and it started lagging. But I riptide'd up into the air and he followed me up and it ran smooth again.

Spawn 60-70 blocks underground. Make nether brick box 10X10 because wither can’t break it. Bring fully enchanted Diamond/Netherite Armor and Weapons with a Golden Apple and 8 minute Strength potion then summon it. Boom, Easy nether star. Make Beacon at home base then you can dig under home base 20-30 blocks down to have beacon effect and you can repeat the above process with addition to your beacon(s) effect making it more easier. :) 👍

You forgot to mention enchanted golden apples if you find any. Since I've been ancient city farming I got 18 enchanted golden apples not to mention the resistance seems to be a counter for the wither effect.

Do you know that zombified piglin can steal the wither skeleton skull and wear it like a helmet? Be aware. Another interesting thing - after one of my fights with Wither (I did above the ground, not in a tunnel) I noticed that one of its heads is flying far away very high in the sky, the fight was over long ago but one of its heads started living its own life, flying like a bee. Have screen shots of both accidents.

Whatever you do, don't fight the wither while playing on a Switch. It can't handle this fight at all. I thought my switch was about to freeze up or crash. It was awful.
