@@josephstalin2606 even then it can still take forever. I gave up and made a rabbit pen and started breeding. Really good guides so far, I'm always surprised to see how little attention some of your videos get. Definitely an underrated channel. Would love to see an enchanting guide, especially one with an emphasis on how you best start the process in survival. I have issues with starting new worlds and feeling lost when it comes time to get enchanted gear, so a guide like that would be extremely helpful. Most of the good enchanted gear I've had on SMPs was obtained through trading with other players, or using another player's villager trading hall so I would love to learn how to do it myself.

20:24 a few years back I saw a tutorial of a fully 100% automatic potion brewing sytem where you just pressed a button for every potion there is and the redstone whould automatically make it. Also it had a feature where you could make a single batch or just make it nonstop... I made it and it took me 4 hours to build but in some update the design no longer works. It was my favorite redstone build I ever made and it was really really complex and big but it worked 100% because it had fail machenics and stuff and if you had everything in stock nothing could go wrong.

@@synkt8759 practice definitely helps :D when I was playing minecraft just to do building projects I didn't have any reason to face danger, and I was rubbish at MLGing and improvising when being swarmed by mobs now that I do minecraft speedruns regularly, where I'm forced to confront danger and not dilly-dally about it, I MLG much more often (still not 100% tho) and I'm better at doing things like running out of the mobs way and pillaring up - I'll have to see if I can work using a water bucket to push them away into my skillset :D if you're at this point in your worlds, I can say that just flying up up and away with an elytra and rockets is also very successful - in the nether it's quite risky and in the overworld it's no good as a method underground (unless you're in a 1.18 cheese cave) but otherwise it can't be beat as a method of avoiding being swarmed :D

just a thing worth mentioning about obtaining nether wart at 4:10, for most minecraft versions nether fortresses were the only place you could obtain nether wart, but with any version after 1.16 (the nether update) you can also get nether wart in Housing bastions (and also, any version post 1.6.1 you have a chance to obtain nether wart in fortress chests) bastions can be difficult to distinguish, but a way to determine if it's housing or not is to simply rule out that it can't be any one of the other bastions. Of the 4 types, three are divided into upper and lower ramparts (areas of interest), and Bridge bastions instead of having a rampart, have a bridge that runs through a tunnel in the middle rampart, and has a chalice of many gold blocks at one end with some smooth quartz halfslabs to make it look like a statue of a hoglin. The lower rampart of Treasure bastions is a massive cube, with smooth walls and a smooth ceiling. Housing and Stables bastions by contrast have lower ramparts that look ruined - very broken up, with lots of blocks missing, and lots of blocks jutting out to form decayed-looking rooms and walkways. Stables bastions are 3 ramparts wide, and have many many hoglins roaming around, while Housing bastions are 2 ramparts wide, and in the middle of the lower ramparts there's a little island on the floor with a chest and with netherwart growing (if you open/break chests/gold, piglins will get angry at you, likewise if you don't wear gold armour/hit a piglin so be careful!) I realise this was a mouthful to explain, and might be hard to process - I can see why even if Eyecraftmc thought about bastions, they'd've decided not to mention it, just because it'd greatly disrupt the video - but hopefully my paragraph will be helpful for those one or two unlucky souls who just can't find fortresses/just can't find the stairwell in fortresses with netherwart growing :D
@YounesLayachi
@YounesLayachi 2 жыл бұрын
Very well summarised -- even as a somewhat veteran player, it took me ages and countless speedruns to recognise and navigate bastions. Their design is unlike anything else in Minecraft (it's absolutely horrendous in my opinion, with a dumpster palette of mismatched blocks and holes). I wish I had found a comment like yours back when 1.16 was released xD
@CorneliusThroatworthy
@CorneliusThroatworthy 2 жыл бұрын
@@YounesLayachi aye, I know the feeling - the amount of speedrunning I've been doing has ramped up in the last 3 months (and I've been doing FSG so I get way more bastions per hour), but even now I still can struggle with knowing on sight whether a triple chest rampart is for bridge, housing or stables - nowadays I'm much quicker at figuring it out, but the similarity in design serves to perfectly bamboozle anyone who doesn't speedrun :D personally I absolutely love the bastion designs, I think they're mojang's best structure work ever - they really do feel like the ramparts and buildings of an ancient civilization once powerful but now in ruin and decay, and there's a good amount of holes in the floor, surprise hoglins, shallow trays of lava and partially collapsed stairwells to make it a great mix of PvE and parkour - I think the stables lower rampart section with it's large broken spiral stairwells is peak design :D the addition of brutes though... the player is forced to slowly & methodically clear out all the brutes first, so the bastions can't really be speedran anymore, but they do make an excellent end-game structure, as I have found when raiding them on my friend's server that my heart is going crazy and my palms are sweaty (knees weak arms are heavy etc.) I do recognise that the block palette can be tough on the eyes in places, but it really does feel like the structure was all polished blackstone brick long ago, and now it's broken down into bassalt & other forms of blackstone, so as someone who greatly enjoys a ruins structure, I don't mind that it's a bit noisy in that regard
@YounesLayachi
@YounesLayachi 2 жыл бұрын
@@CorneliusThroatworthy something like the stronghold strikes a perfect balance of block variation (mossy & cracked) without too much visual overload (no random slabs and stairs). On the opposite side of bastions we have the forteress, which ironically also generates in the nether and clashes heavily with the bastion by contrast making it look even more extremely stuffed with random blocks. I like to think that the original Minecraft structures were made by game developers with a lot of game-making experience and not much time on their hands so they kept things simple and did a great job fitting with the rest of the game, while the bastions were made by newly hired "game designers" who's entire job description is to make a new structure so they put unreasonable amount of detail into it xD
@CorneliusThroatworthy
@CorneliusThroatworthy 2 жыл бұрын
@@YounesLayachi fair - I think I find the fortress a bit too simple now that I know how it generates (thanks speedrunners, lol), but I still verily enjoy it because with low armour and no fire res (e.g if speedrunning fort first, or if on an smp you're trying to speedrun getting wither skele skulls so you can use a beacon as a bedside lamp to flex ...just a random example ;) ) then it poses a real challenge, and gets my heart racing like the brutified bastions do the stronghold really holds up well, as they were added before the full release, but they're still a challenge to navigate (with hidden rooms in 5 ways contributing a lot to that) so I definitely agree with you there :D another structure I'd like to give its flowers is the abandoned mineshaft - they're absolutely enormous, cave spiders can be a nightmare, and the constant opportunity for a creeper-skele combo to be around the next corner means they can get my heart racing for much of early-to-mid game. The way they loop and wrap around themselves so much makes it much harder to be systematic, and the elevation changes are great for providing creeper-drop drama. Also cobwebs can hinder a panicked player, but make great loot for decorations. But also they're one of the safer places to go spelunking, because there's a reliable source of wood to make backup torches, the rails and the buttresses stop mobs chasing you so far, and along with the pre-spawned torches all dilute how many mobs can spawn in one spot. they're fantastic structures and I always enjoy combing through them and getting lost. Moesh was one of the designers of bastions (they did a nice interview on YT with Minecraft Ideas Academy if I recall correctly) who mentioned a fair bit about making sure there's places you can pillar up/block yourself in, to give you time to consider your next move, but cheesing the bastion isn't obvious (e.g with the gilded blackstone under chests, lava wells in several bastions) and they specifically engineered where to put surprise holes to make careless players likelier to fall into (e.g on the middle bridge rampart). I think it suits the bastions since they are meant to be ancient and decayed, and so the shape of the structure reflects that, where strongholds and fortresses and mineshafts all seem ancient but miraculously well preserved (with the brick variation in strongholds and the cobwebs in mineshafts being probably the limit of what could be procedurally generated back then). Moesh worked with mojang since like 2016, but it seems the bastions (and now ancient cities, which have similar ruined vibes and a similarly busy block palette) were their first big game design project, so I think you've psycho-analysed the situation well :D

Can't believe I watched the whole video. I googled all the potion recipes and all I got was articles and blurry or complicated images. Really good video with everything I needed.

Already subscribed, but dude this is crazy useful information! Like, why is this stuff not taught in school? I'll never remember when Ponce De Leon sailed the ocean blue and found the northwest passage underneath the canterbury's tail, but you make me WANT to take notes! Excellent video! (seriously though, I took notes)
