To trigger a Zombie Siege, my understanding was that you needed significantly more villagers than beds. So 10 beds with 20 villagers. Since not all the villagers will be safe which makes it easier for Zombies to attack.

I've got a really nice snow village I found inside a mountain range, it's nestled neatly in a small valley surrounded by large mountains on all sides. With a small ice pond right in the center of the valley that the village is built around. There's a massive cave entrance that leads to a deep dark biome pretty much underneath the village. Along with a few mob spawners I turned into xp farms. All in all my snow village is pretty awesome. Also helps that no zombies or hostile mobs spawn in the village aside from stray that spawn on the pond at night. But honestly the stray are a great source bones and arrows so that's a plus.

Did you know? Blocking villagers in with no exit, then dealing damage to them causes them to go into a loop of never-ending panic as long as they can see/feel your presence. Since they cannot leave the space, as long as you're near them they will never stop panicking. However even in creative/spectator mode, if you leave the space between the blocks and the villagers, they have a chance to calm down. It is very weird but funny how their AI is coded.

2:51 "Now this one generated incredibly strangely..." I would honestly LOVE to know why literally 100% of the villages generate exactly like that. I mean literally always there a HUGE, MASSIVE cave system opening or a ravine in the middle of the village or directly under it. Like, without fail. I have see hundreds of villages and they are all messed up like that. It's honestly so frustrating. For once I would like to make a village a nice and booming trade town, but ain't going to patch all the holes with thousands of blocks. The openings are not only annoying for landscaping, but certain deathtraps for the villagers as the mobs are literally streaming from the depths, or the villagers go there themselves.
@Dumb-bejad0072 жыл бұрын
Village made a lot of things easier if you use the trading mechanics correctly : 1. plant two layers of bamboos surrounding the village (far cheaper and easier than fences). dangerous mobs and raid won't kill the villager, and you can kill them with arrow from the inside. 2. build an iron farm outside the village. better outside the village to maximize golem spawn 3. put Blast Furnace, Grindstone and Smithing Table in the village, trade irons with the corresponding villagers for infinite emeralds. 4. now you have access to Diamond Armors, Tools, and Weapons without mining them Fletcher, Farmer, Librarian and Cleric will also help you get a lot of useful items

But in my current world, my base used to be a short distance away from a village. Over time as I've built up and expanded, the base has gradually been swarmed with villagers/golems wandering around, getting stuck in water currents, trying to get at my job blocks or bed, and generally being a nuisance.

I've experimented a bit with player-expanded villages, and I've noticed that for bigger, sometimes double-belled villages the villagers may accidentally double up villagers at one job table, causing your often higher-rank villager to not path to their job table. They didn't despawn, though. Anything else that might be good to know for player-expanded villages?
@KM-uo4mc2 жыл бұрын
Same here. I've tried to expand my home village a bit in Bedrock, but I noticed that some villagers double a job site block, causing a glitch where a villager that looks unemployed actually has trades.

Can you create a village from scratch and kidnap villagers and bring them to it and grow their population in your built from scratch village?😊
@monsieurdorgat6864 Жыл бұрын
@@TwiStedTentom It's tricky, but yes if the new village is far enough away from the old one that the villager can't find its way back. IMO it's just easier to build on top of and replace the old villager buildings. It's also definitely worthwhile to figure out how they like to move because it can be tricky to accommodate their AI.

Wow, I didn't know zombie villages were so rare and that they were actual villages. I wasn't playing Minecaft since 1.7.2, I believe, and recently decided to give it another try to see what has changed, and right after I've started the game, I found myself in the taiga biome, and found an abandoned zombie village next to a river. But I thought that was just some random structure, much like the Jungle temple, or even some new common feature for this biome... It had a few cows, sheep and pigs in the pen, all stuck in a trough made of trapdoors, and one zombie villager stuck in a 1 block hole in the "lobby" of their house, filled with cobweb, so I've killed it and took over it's house, and then stated to slowly repair the village, but then a wandering merchant and a gang of illagers came and started wrecking havoc, so I've tried to dig a hole in the ground to hide, but it turned out there was a deep crack filled with water under the village, so I've got disoriented and drowned.

Now that i think about it... Why can't the village leader become a "job" instead of position... Like, the first villager that interacts with a bed will run into the village center and interact with the bell as it was it's job... It might not give you trades, but will be usefull to act as a way to know the iron golem spawn mechanic or maybe a way to actually see which villager has this and that job without pressing the trade...
