What are *YOUR* thoughts on this mobile filmmaking and vlogging setup?!
@alexandermbulo9035 жыл бұрын
BMAC this one's a real beast man..... But whooooo that wallpaper on your iPhone man I was turning my head in every direction you moved the phone. Wallpaper is eye catching, I think you should make another short film with that setup, been ages since you did one of those.

You could also use the lgv30 it has way more options than the iPhone instead of getting a third party app.

Good setup, but the gimble is really expensive for young film makers
@itstheBMAC5 жыл бұрын
Hey, AS! I actually think around $100 is a phenomenal price for a gimbal. Having said, that, however, this is the “ultimate” mobile filmmaking and blogging setup and not the “budget” setup. I hope you find the video helpful, regardless!

Suggestion to use accessory counter balance weights worked great. I’m using an iPhone X with Otterbox case. The phone in case fits in the Smooth 4 phone clamp but is way off balance. The clamp on counter balance weights saved the day. Works great without interfering with the gimble movement.

This post was so great, but it is one year old. Would truly appreciate your considering an update or even better, a new one with your recommendations for mid 2020.

Saving a lot of money here with barely noticeable drop in quality would be to sub in the Zhiyun 2 axis gimbal ($60), since you aren't worried about tilt on a tripod. And then the Movo VXR10 mic has been tested to be very similar to the rode... ($40)

@@brianmi40 Thanks. Does that mean this one is the best bet if you want it for monopods too? Thanks for the info.

I have a question. The max payload weight for the Zhiyun Smooth 4 is 210g. iPhone XS Max alone is already 208g. Attaching ND filter and counter weight would probably added additional 100g to the setup. What will those extra weight do to the gimbal?
@thetruemorg4 жыл бұрын
I've been slowly purchasing basically all the items that you mentioned in this video to be able to have my own little mobile setup. The elusive thing that kept messing with my rig was the microphone. you would always just make it a little bit too heavy putting it on the top of the gimbal. Totally worth every millisecond watching this video to find that nice little mount to put it on the gimbal itself. It's freaking life-changing thank you for a great video!

Yo, great video! I’ve bought this whole setup featured in the video, here’s what I learnt. I used it with IPhone 8 Plus (very heavy phone) and it works fine, but make sure you buy a counterweight like BMAC shows, you’ll 100% need it! In my experience no lightning splitters work, they trip out the TRS to TRRS lightning adaptor and the phone will no longer recognise the microphone you have plugged in. However there is a fix - move the phone over so you can directly plug in the Apple lightning adaptor without squashing the wire. Then move the counterweight to the far right of the arm and add slightly more weight. It will balance! I use a Rode Wireless Go lapel Mic with my setup to get high quality wire free audio. It’s a bit pricey but worth it. With these slight mods the featured setup WILL work. So thanks BMAC for this very helpful video! You can create professional videos with your phone and a few smaller budget items...Sam😊✌️

BMAC, is there a reason you cant mount the iphone with the lightning port facing out when inside the Zhiyun gimbal? I put my iphone 11 in the Zhiyun with the lightning port out and recorded and it seemed fine. It does press down on the side buttons a little when mounted inside but is there any other reason not to do it this way?
@itstheBMAC4 жыл бұрын
I've found that mounting the lighting port facing in is better for when connecting accessories and for making sure that the lenses are not obstruct by any part of the gimbal.

You mention getting a third party app to control your phone. I have a Nokia 7+ which has a two lens set-up. With the standard Nokia camera app I can zoom in quite a lot, but when I have tried all other camera apps, the zoom isn't as good. Maybe only the Nokia app has access to the telephoto lens on the phone.

This is their PP's recommendation for iPhone 11Pro Max. Looking for the ND filters you recommended here. Little help? Will the weight of the LiteChaser Pro affect my gimbal balance? (Osmo Mobile, Zhiyun Smooth 4, etc.) Compatibility will be affected by the weight of the LiteChaser Pro Case and we do not recommend the use of a gimbal. However, the iPhone’s cinematic stabilization feature helps to stabilize your video for smoother footage. (4K, 1080p, and 720p), and 720p)
