Yeah slow riding is when people drop their bikes the most. We just got tired of dropping our bikes, so we try to keep skills up at least once a week. These things are heavy lol. Thanks for watching and for the compliment,

Good for you guys doing parking lot practice! I do practice from time to time just to hone my skills. I remember one time at a parking lot I did a really tight turn in front of some sportbike guys " The guy told me he couldn't turn that tight on his sportbike I told him he could just practice. I love these videos well done.

Hey SupermanKev, Yeah some just want to ride in straight lines, but when it comes to slow riding that's when they are dropping their bikes. We try to get one practice a week. Two others riders were invited but didn't show up. so we decided to make this video. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Sounds great John. Yeah I agree (No excuses not to practice). I just purchased the jacket approximately four weeks ago. After taking the bike in for a checkup, I left my other jacket in the (unlocked) car and it got stolen. I just stayed with the same brand. I really like the look of it. We both have good taste!

I’ve been riding for a lil over 12 years on a Vulcan custom 900 and just upgraded to a Vulcan Vaquero.... turning practices with the friction zone is a must.... I’m getting used to riding with a fairing but you two guys ride those gold wings like they are small bicycles...😂good job 👍🏾
@BootsandJeansRiders
@BootsandJeansRiders 4 жыл бұрын
Hey J Wrizza, A Vulcan Vaquero man that a nice looking bike. I like that blue on the 2020. How do you like so far? Yeah the fairing does takes getting use to, but it nice not having so much wind on you. Some wind id fine, but after a looooong day, the extra wind protection is nice. Thanks for watching and the nice comment. Ride safe

Boots and Jeans Riders ... Actually I bought a 2017 Vaquero which is a reddish/maroon color and I love that color more than the blue on the 2020 ... The fairing is nice but I want a smaller smoked custom windshield but I’m enjoying getting used to the bike overall with practice practice practice.....

You both make it look so easy. How much break are you using on the tight turns like the u-turns and figure eights? Practice makes perfect. Thanks Dave
@BootsandJeansRiders
@BootsandJeansRiders 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave, good question...It depending on our speed, we use very light pressure on the rear break approaching the u-turn. As we get into the turn we release the break, but stay in the friction zone to control our speed. Some times no brakes are used (see video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6HdnZ-MmdmZjsU With the figure 8's very light breaking pressure is throughout the maneuver. Hopes that answers your question... Thanks for watching.

Pretty slick guys. So I have a question. What is the distance in which one should be able to make a turn? 24' 20' 18'? I know tighter is better but is there a standard width? Thanks for these videos. Inspiration to practice. Be well, stay safe. PS Congrats on topping 1000 subscribers! When's the party?
@BootsandJeansRiders
@BootsandJeansRiders 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Rich good question. The average street lane is 12' so times 2 = 24'. Plus the middle stripes (Double is usually 12"). Making the average street 25'. In residential area the street range between 36-40' leaving room for vehicles to park on both sides, with enough room for two vehicles to pass in the middle simultaneously. Most private side streets are around 18'. So you would be safe at making 24' u'-turns, than working down to 18. Its unlikely that we will run into 18' streets, but its good to practice, just in case. I know its a long answer but I hope it helps.
