Modded mine with a pressure switch and coupler but trying a horizontal mount. The base plate can be moved from the bottom to the back with minor trimming of the bracket. Now I have a flat pump with the coupler and cut off switch facing the top but sideways. Going to try and fab it under the hood of my Bronco. Use the stock base and start from there

Great video, any chance that you can explain exactly where the connections are made, I plan to cut the old panel out but get a little confused with the wiring to the pressure switch and relay. A scribbled diagram would even help, I am a visual learner.

@theschultz-ster10 ай бұрын
images.app.goo.gl/n3kczU2F4grENvyy7 87 and 30 are the Battery and pump connections and 86 and 85 are the trigger wires. One goes to ground and one goes to your switched power. Being DC it doesn't matter what side is what. The relay I used in this video, 87 and 30 are the big 8mm lugs and 86 and 85 look the same just in different locations on the relay and are the smaller connections. I DO plan on mounting it in the Jeep and adding a small air tank under the jeep too. Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful

Great video! Got one question. Why blow off valve is needed? To release the air after finish airup? Cant you just turn off the compressor and press the gun to do that?
@theschultz-ster9 ай бұрын
My thought process on this was every component of a big compressor but in the jeep. I will be installing a tank this will feed too. It was also something I had not seen yet done. I know these are cheap and I want to give it every chance at a long life.

If you have it installed and the unit still doesn’t turn off, does this mean there is a leak and it can’t get the spec pressure?

yes. spray some soap and water on your connections to find the leak. It will blow bubbles

So I wired it and when I tried to run it, it runs for a second then cuts off, then runs, then cuts off until I disconnect it. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong?
@theschultz-ster9 ай бұрын
is there a pressure switch? If so it sounds like a leak. It will runup to pressure, shut off, Then as the air leaks out and pressure drops, It will turn back on. Just guessing?
@FrankFiorenini9 ай бұрын
Pressure switch is on, but i had trouble tapping for everything and am sure that I cross threaded one of them. I may need to pull and re tap them. @@theschultz-ster
@theschultz-ster9 ай бұрын
Maybe add thread tape too? Just ideas.
@theschultz-ster9 ай бұрын
Let it run. Put your ear near the areas you tapped, listen for air leaking out. You maybe able to hear it.
@theschultz-ster9 ай бұрын
Take the plastic off. Put soap and water in a spray bottle and spray it on your tapp points and look for bubbles. if you see any you have leaks.
