Hi Guys great video and great job. I am looking at a LWB Delica for our next life adventure. turn 75 in May, had a Toopcarrier, 80 series, and off road caravan, had a Patrol and serious off road camper trailer last big trip after I retired was 15000Ks over 4 months. ready to take it a bit easier these days so going to buy a Delica LWB and set it up myself, like your layout think it would suite us to a tee. we spent 5 years on the road around Oz back from 2000 thought we would do it before we got to old. but still at it. thanks again for your great work keep it up.

Brilliant build, I've got the same year as you and it's a beast offroad and on that note I'd highly suggest getting a bashplate preferably a T0me one. The stock one may as well be made of cardboard and in all of mitsubishi's wisdom they put not only the oil filter but the sump right where a rock would punch a hole in it. So if you're planning to take it offroad please get one.

Is it a good idea having the hoses under the water tank exposed if you're going to be doing some 4WD'ing? Perhaps some type of of bashing plate to protect them?
@ViktorSuhov2 жыл бұрын
Do you have a blog about this conversion? I am curious to see how you went about installing the wooden ceiling, it looks gorgeous!
@samstripy11873 жыл бұрын
Might be a good idea to add freewheel hubs on the front if you are off-roading, allows you to disconnect the front shaft incase you snap one off when off-roading as the shaft still has to turn in 4WD or not. They literally take an hour to fit max.

Why did you keep the step bumpers? They only lower your overall clearance. Also why do you keep a LPG bottle exposed the sun. You're in Aussie with hot weather, so that's a bit dangerous as its better to keep LPG tanks out of the sun. Nice van though!
@putindead2406 Жыл бұрын
Not bad delica 👍
@mattdonohoe61343 ай бұрын
You said words to the effect of “it will go anywhere” - however - two crucial things here - side steps don’t appear to be rock sliders and will limit clearance a lot ? The rear bar and towbar looks like it will hang you up in 30 seconds. Not even medium tracks look like they would damage this ?

Super cool rig, great job!! We’re thinking about getting one but will need to pull a trailer, does it have enough power to do that? Thanks
@rosemerrynmcmillan1611 Жыл бұрын
The 2.8 diesel is best for pulling a trailer. The 2.5 is a bit underpowered. Just helped a friend get a 3 litre petrol 6 cylinder Delica 2003 which is even better. Heaps of torque and power for pulling a trailer. The petrol motors are much cheaper to repair ($300 for a petrol fuel pump compared to $3000 for a diesel fuel pump). Also diesel fuel is going up in price.

Safety is abit of an issue here as the driver might get crushed by all the cabinets if a rear collision occurs, i do like the water tank on the underside of the vehicle tho, keeps it more stable rather than having it on the top.
@lukaskorcak55832 жыл бұрын
14.5V for LA gel battery seems little to high to me. Its good for flooded type (14.2 - 14.6V), even acceptable for AGM (14.7 - 14.8V). You should not go above 14.1V or the gel starts to degrade. It will make your very expensive battery to be very cheap and useless quite soon. Anyway, all up to you....
