Get a correct size seatpost. Otherwise it can crack the frame🥲. Love the bomber. My dream fork

This was definitely a thing I was there, and it was a glorious time in MTB! I still miss my Yellow Banshee Morphin, which was 26/24 mullet running a Monster T. Hucking my meat off, anything I could. Freeride wasn't just a riding style it was a way of life.

A marzocchi drop-off TI would look so good on that rig. Also you can use zipties on the pivot points of clutchless simano derailleur's to stop chain slap. I have a ghetto setup like that on my Norco
@oldmanbucksaw5 ай бұрын
I really wanted one of these back in the day. My freeride HT at the time was a Norco Torrent with a Marzocchi Jr T. I had it set up with 26" front and 24" rear wheels, a .243 Racing bar and stem, a sick Titec Beserker saddle, a Blackspire Ring God, and bunch more freeride goodness.

Over sized front shocks on hardtails is trending. Looks good. I like that frame a lot. Same colors I rock + on raw aluminum. Btw you can shim the seatpost its easy enough and holds as usual. Use the plastic kind they have a much firmer hold.

hey man, did you buy this bike in Belgium? i've seen a photoshoot happen in Winterberg on the slopestyle track by a belgian dude. he had allmost all the same parts as yours. i still may have some footage but not in a great quality since it was around 2010. crazy bike for sure !!! have fun !!
@FietsofStrength Жыл бұрын
I bought the bike from a fella in the Midwest, but he had moved there from Belgium where he originally built the bike. It's very likely the same one! How many LeToy frames had seismic hubs back then anyway? Would love to see the footage!

Love this era of stuff. Still envious of those hubs. I think that head set is some high-load thrust washer setup meant to take a beating. I'd like to see your thoughts on running before and after swapping those boat anchor tires out for something newer and lighter
@FietsofStrength2 жыл бұрын
Good call on the headset. This one seems to have definitely taken a beating. Those bearings are un-happy. Gonna keep the tires for a while. They carve hard, believe it or not
@draggonhedd2 жыл бұрын
@@FietsofStrength I think between those washers in the headset MIGHT be a needle thrust bearing. You might be able to replace it and freshen it up. Maybe take it to and old mtb shop and see if the sages there know a thing or two about em.

I have a haro zero werx and done the same , i found a brand new 888 vf , Tho I want to modernize the bike in some ways , An eagle transmission with ns rotary oil slick hubs but damnnn parts are sooo expensive still the bike looks sooo sick and yes turns a lots of heads even if is vintage . This old bikes have an aura and I love them fr :]
@mountaincruiser8172 жыл бұрын
Just a thought. I think it would ride a whole lot beter when you put the lower single crown fork on. Or at least some lower bars. This bike came out in my youth but even then it was a boat anker like no other.
@FietsofStrength2 жыл бұрын
You're not wrong. There's a lot I would do differently that would make this bike ride better, but the way it's built now makes me happy, and that was the goal.
