I just made this. It was excellent. I would recommend anyone making this in the oven to put your biscuits on a baking sheet and cook them about halfway before putting them on the casserole. They do end up doughy, even after adding extra cook time.

Definitely will try this next time. In total needed about 25 extra minutes in the oven. I ended up flipping my biscuits for about 7 minutes to hit the doughy underside. Flipped them back and they were messy so I turned on the broiler for about a minute to brown the cheese and sauce. Still turned out great.

Kent, I've been ordering a double quarter pounder with cheese, with mac sauce only for about 30 years now. Tastes exactly the same, only more meat and no middle piece of bread! Over the years, the big mac patty has shrunk in size; thinner and smaller! I did discover (during lock down) that I could make it myself. Now I don't go to Macdonalds ever!

We made this for our 3 Rivers Dutch oven event at the beginning of May and it was such a hit. there was nothing left at the end of the night in the pot. I've been working on my own hamburger casserole. Not specifically big mac, but similar. I also include a layer of greens to replace the lettuce. Lettuce wouldn't cook well, so I use a spinach or kale, or what ever dark green I can find. Also, layer the bottom of the casserole with a starchy vegetable.

Nice cook. Very creative. Looks delicious. I worked at McD's in the late 70's when the burgers were cooked fresh. The Big Mac was delicious. today the meat is precooked and put in a steamer tray. The patties are smaller and don't reach the edges of the bun. You're right, where's the beef! That 1/4 burger with Mac sauce looks good. Beegs was a little testy today.
