will arkansas stone work with magnacut steel?

In theory, the best material for CPM steels, especially high vanadium steels like Magnacut, would be a diamond stone. However, I've gotten good results on aluminum oxide water stones, which suggests to me that Arkansas stones should work too. It's not something I've tested personally yet though.
