$15 Metal Gooseneck is the one for me... Best ratio between plosive and esses reduction and sound quality. The $100 muds the sound a bit too much for me. And I'm listening in a good setup
@bort- Жыл бұрын
The 20$ metal gooseneck isn't the most effective but it really makes your voice sound nicer and clearer compared to some of the others. Probably because of the way it bounces off the metal.

I had a dual metal layer one, after a/b with the goose neck nylon, I noticed the dual metal one was adding this annoying sharp mid high presence spike to my vocals while the nylon was completely transparent. I noticed the dual metal one did it to your vocals here too

Thank you for this very helpful and informative demonstration. It confirms what I've heard with the metal pop filters I've owned or used in studios. Instead of uniform diffusion, metal filters drive the air and sound in one direction away from the microphone. This leads to a reduction in the frequencies below 80 Hz and above 10 kHz in a non-flattering way.

@stanyoung4532 жыл бұрын
Good video, except it doesn't address the effect of the filter on sound quality. Fortunately it's easy to hear. The $100 gooseneck filter has the best combination of removing pops while being transparent to the sound. Other filters sometimes either don't remove the pops or else they sound like you threw a blanket over the mike (because that's sort of what you did). The only downside to the $100 filter is it costs $100. Ridiculous. They should drop the price before their competitors come out with a $20 clone.

BTW, I kknow a lot of jazz producers who would pay $100 to filter the "Pop" out of a jazz vocal.

Hello Edward. On the search for a smaller and good popfilter i found this. Here is a german review, with poptest, of a 3D printed fantastic new and small(8cm) popfilter in a total new design, to print at home for free or buy as a complete set. If you are interested to see. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqOwdIGurc2Hm5Y It works better than the most, for 30€. With printed logo 59€. And it is so small that you can see your monitor easily. The popfilter does not disturb in any way. And thank you for your cool and helpful videos. Excuse my bad english. Shame on me. 😂

My mic always captures the smallest saliva click noises. I have tried recording in different ways sstill didnt help. Its my mic issue or pop filter issue ? I am only struggling with saliva click voices from mouth.
@mustafaunsoy10 ай бұрын
It may be due to lack of acoustic treatment or talking too close to the mic. Keep 6 (untreated room) to 12 (treated room) inch distance from the mic. Also, try hanging sound blankets or, even better, natural wool rugs on your walls for acoustic treatment. Leave a few inches between the blanket and the wall. Stay away from acoustic foams.

For music/voiceover recording avoid attaching anything to the mic or mic stand - a strong plosive is essentially the same as tapping the mic or stand. For gaming/streaming it's less critical, you just want to save your listeners from ugly pops in realtime.
