I love that idea of the loop for the end of the branch, I hadn't seen that before, and immediately can see that would be useful addition to my process. Thanks for this... 5 years ago 😂... Ive been using PVA with tile grout for the bark. Seems to work well.

Just an alternative to the milliput but liquid latex is a great way to cover the main body of the tree, it allows you to keep the texture of the wire allowing for that old knarled look while staying flexible even after it dries, it does take paint well and if your doing large amounts of these trees works out cheaper. Apart from that, great video and a very realistic looking tree at the end, thanks.
@HighEyeWorkshop5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I've used latex before. For this tree I was after something carvable, for bark texture, so.i went with the Milliput. Latex is great, though.

Nice tutorial, thanks for sharing a bit of your skills with us. I've see some people coating the tree with maskol, but then the tree gets flexible. Your technique of using milliput is far better, definitely more realistic. Congrats. Alex

Can I use Blu Tak instead of the milliput?
@HighEyeWorkshop2 жыл бұрын
No, Mulliput gardens as it is an epoxy.
@Dug66666665 жыл бұрын
I suggest everyone wear gloves with epoxy. It is too easy to become sensitized to it even if you have no immediate reaction. Once that happens you will get a skin reaction to it just being in the same room as it fumes.
