I know it’s been ten years since this video came out, thank you, I played through Ventas’ story and then Aqua’s. I started with Terra’s but doing the same semi boring gameplay style three times in a row, each taking around 20 hours split across a few days gets kind of monotonous

I just started out with this today (Final Mix version, on HD 1.5+2.5 REmix, within The Story So Far Collection, for PS4), and already found the battle/combat system to be... unnecessarily convoluted after the pretty awesome one in II. This will alter my flow somewhat, leading up to 3 in (hopefully) short order. I get where they were trying to change things up to keep it fresh, but at this point I'm just trying to work through the games as quickly as possible before I get to III, unless they're fun enough to me (like 1 and 2 were). So I think instead of playing this, I'll watch this video; then the cinematics for RE:coded; then try out Dream Drop Distance; try out Fragmentary Passage; then watch (chi) Back Cover and then finally get back to 3.

I'm very confused on why Ventus gets made at Aqua when they all meet up at Radiant Garden. Aqua didn't do anything wrong and was just following masters orders. Ventus was a jerk in that situation.

Birth by sleep follows a philosophy that the Inuits had. They believed that the soul of a deceased travels back into the body of a pregnant woman, completely shedding its prior memories, through the process of soul transmigration (migrating to a new consciousness, a new brain, a new personality).

Is Vanitas looking like an older Sora not a plot hole? I get that Vantias came from the darkness in Ventus being seperated and Sora's heart reaching out to Ven's to repair it and thats the reason why. However Sora's heart dose not reach out to Ven til after Vanitas has been created so how can he look like Sora? Also at the end of the game Ven is resting in Sora's heart so when he unlocks his heart in KH1 and becomes a heartless creating Rokas, is that why Rokas takes on the appearance of Ven rather than that of Sora?

In the beginning of BBS, we see a cloaked man (Xehanort) bring Ventus unconsious body onto Destiny island, and plans to leave him there until he sees Ventus summons his keyblade to do something. That something was Ventus forming the connection with Sora as he just happens to be born at that moment. This pretty much is the only reason for why Vanitas gradually forms an appearance of Sora and this connection made prior to Ventus damaging his heart in his fight is why Sora was able to offer it shelter.

Oni, any chance you can explain to me how Ventus' and Sora's hearts are able to join together at the beginning of the game and then again at the end? +James Williams It's never clear, but the best I can understand, Sora somewhat 'donates' a bit of his heart to Ventus, and later when Ventus falls asleep, he leaves his heart in the safety of Sora's.

+James Williams They never joined hearts twice. Ventus's heart was damaged and Sora's heart was on its way to his body as he was just born. His heart offered to heal Ventus's broken heart, thus creating their connection. At the end, Ven's heart became misplaced and caused his coma. Sora could feel it (the connection) and told him he'd keep his heart safe. This is what makes Sora special, as he does this for all the princesses of heart in the first game.

They said it at the beginning of the video when this part actually happened, but after forcibly extracting the darkness of Ventus' heart, Master Xehanort brings what's left of Ventus to Destiny Islands to live, which is where is heart connects with baby Sora (who obviously is also on Destiny Islands).

pride917 from what I understand, it's actually Roxas that looks like Ventus. When Ventus heart was damaged it found refuge/support with sora (sora as a little boy). There is a scene that shows Ventus heart going into soras chest. Later on when Sora became a heartless, he also made a nobody (Roxas) and that could be an explanation as to why Ventus and Roxas look the same. Because they were both connected to sora I guess.

Kinda dont get why Ventus represents the light but a dark looking Sora is darkness (considering there was no conection with Sora to begin with). Also if both Ventus an Vanitas inhabit on Sora later on, why Soras nobody, Roxas (its dark side) turns out to look like Ventus. Shouldnt he look like a dark Sora? This game series is a mess...

Vanitas might have been faceless at the start, similar to Xion, or something. Also, a Nobody isn't specifically someone's darkness, it's what's left of someone after their heart is removed from their body. Usually the Nobody just looks like the person (hence why every other Nobody in the series besides Roxas and Namine looks the same as they were before they lost their hearts). Sora's nobody just happened to look like Roxas because of the influence of Ventus' heart inside him.
