Fun fact: Because the Maximum Pieces are Level 10, that means Rush's Red-Eyes has access to Heavenly's cards: which gives it extra Draw Power as well as GY setup. Also, you can use the Maximum Piece that is treated as OG Red-Eyes for some Fusion Summon (and Red-Eyes lacks good Substitutes for OG Red-Eyes) There is also a detail to consider, even though it has more ATK, Meteor Skull Archfiend is a Level 8: which means it can destroy with anything (Monster, Trap Card or Spell Card). The other Fusion Monsters for Rush's Red-Eyes are mostly Level 9, which gives it extra Protection against some Effects. And yes, it is curious that two Decks (Red-Eyes and Dinosaur) have received cards that are related to protecting against Bounce, even though I can count on my hands the few relevant Monsters with Bounce. I suppose it will be common to see new Boss Monsters with Bounce's Effects in the future.

I love your insights on the game and would like to playtest/theory craft with you if you don't mind. I am now getting into Rush Duel and feel like I have a pretty fundamental understanding of what good/broken/subpar looks like. The Dinosaur Maximum monsters seem a lot more efficient in terms of the the parts having better effects for their respective decks compared to Red-Eyes' Maximum monsters. I do like the idea and would like to see if future support will make the Red-Eyes Maximum monsters more cohesive as it just feels "win more". I also dislike that you have to go minus to recur Meteor Flare Fusion for the weaknesses that you mentioned above about the vanilla Fusions being level 8 (Black Skull Dragon being the exception since its LV 9) and I know there are ways to mitigate it (Meteorite Dragon Nails), but time will tell where the new support will take Red-Eyes. It's still a fun deck, like a majority of decks in this format.

They actually try, so I agree. I feel like they could find a way to make Red-Eyes Fusion not feel so outdated and balanced by making better Fusion monsters, and targets for the Fusion monsters (great graveyard effects, trigger effects, quick effects to interact on opponent's turn, maybe something to give you crack-back on following turn). The burn thing is cool and all, but Blue-Eyes is eating in the OCG with the new support. Konami need to step it up with Red-Eyes and give it some cohesion the same way they did for Blue-Eyes.

i felt like we would get union monsters in the future even before the new red eyes foreshadow it more because Aitsu is already in rush duel it was in Battle Pack 2022 Vol.4 and Soitsu is in rush duels and in Battle Pack 2023 Vol.1 so they been foreshadowing we might get union longer than most people expected.

I think its more like Claw Of Hermos coming to Rush. Red Eye sword is a fusion monster that become a equip card

I'm still hoping they'll bring back Bandai's version of BEUD. Blue-Eyes White Dragon's 3 Body Connection would be perfect for a Maximum Monster.

Interesting that Maxi-Flare R's effect prevents returning Spells/Traps to the *Extra* Deck. Spells and Traps don't even go into the Extra Deck under any circumstances. Even if a Pendulum Monster (which Rush Duel doesn't have (yet)) is destroyed in the Pendulum Zone, it should be treated as a monster going to the Extra Deck rather than a Spell going to the Extra Deck. Unless... *Pendulum Spells/Trap Cards confirmed?!*

nah. they're probably future proofing for when they make extra deck monsters that become equip cards like the Hermos Fusions or Armory Arm.
