I bought a 1993 Bluebird School bus for $3500 and converted it into the ultimate rolling hunting camp. This is basically my Tiny House on wheels. I am traveling the country in it to raise awareness and educate people about our public lands. Check out the tour of the bus and follow along for a lot more content coming soon!
Keep it public, Everyone.

Nice and simple. Like it a lot. Very usable, all other conversion shown are made to live full time in. One thought about your CampChef oven/stove, other than they are really great. You modify your countertop to drop/lower the stove to a lower level. That way you're not standing on your tiptoes frying hash browns. Good job!

I’m 17 & being that I will graduate this summer of 2021 being that I could tow my 93 idi behind a bus allows me to keep my truck & have plenty of storage for my stuff & have plenty of space to live. I think the bus platform is just better built & can take a little more miles than the traditional rv that has a lifespan of abt 100k.

Sweet to hear that it was built in Mt Pleasant Iowa! This is my hometown. Fun fact... every male relative that I have worked at Blue Bird until the day it shut down. I have many good memories of running around that factory! Crazy to think that in the late 80's and early 90's that they would just let kids roam that place during operational hours. It would be awesome if the bus could make it to Iowa at some point!!! KEEP ON KEEPIN ON brother!

That is a way cool conversion ya have there! The tent addition is far-out and I'm kinda surprised more people don't use one as well.I dig the fact that you painted it and it looks great. Right on! ..............................PEACE!!

That's a nice build, but you got ripped off on the bus. RVs are built like crap, I've cut up 2 and scrapped em as well as 1 travel trailer, I wouldn't ever have another. IF your LP heater is producing just a blue flame it CAN NOT kill you with CO2, it will burn all the oxygen out of the air and smother you to death factually. I run 2 in my 40' bus and don't open the windows using a O2 monitor. I like the tent setup but man that must be a pain to deal with all that stuff when pulling up stakes and moving.

@@soholtbrothers Hey if your happy that's all that matters hero. Growing up I thought a flat nose bus was the ugliest thing and well I'm sitting in one now LOL. While I don't have to worry about the trans ever giving up, the electronics on it are so expensive I'd buy another of these for doner parts, it's 3k for the push button panel on it, crazy stuff.

It takes a little time to set up if I'm solo, but if there are a couple people it is super fast. poles and tent just go in the back door of the bus and stay there when not in use. That extra space is a game changer though

Great job on your skoolie conversion. I would suggest, however, that you do consider utilizing the space you originally planned for the bathroom for that very reason. Why? First of all, how/where do you shower? Even in the forest, hygiene is important. And unless you are camped near a waterfall or a pond/lake, the forest doesn't provide you with a shower or bath. Secondly, do you ever get female guests? They'd appreciate a warm, comfortable place to use the facilities if it's snowing and blowing outside. And what if you find the woman of your dreams? Wouldn't you want her to be comfortable on your bus, too? Good luck!
@1genevieve2
@1genevieve2 5 жыл бұрын
@Jennifer Hunt - Apparently you've never heard of the "sponge-bath"? You use a good sized basin,small tub or 5 gal.bucket,etc., and bathed in that manner. Then "new" hot/warm water was/is prepped and you could wash your hair (or vice versa - hair first," new" or clean water prepped and you had your sponge bath). We couldn't use a LOT of soap because we never would have gotten all the soap off our bodies! I'm an "old broad" (68) and come from very humble beginnings. I remember,back in the day,when your *weekly* bath was usually on a Friday or Saturday night - in a metal washtub! A bubble bath was a luxury only the more fortunate people could afford (those who had more $$), However,we did have pretty good bars of soap and manage to make our own bubbles (lol)! Usually,the youngest bathed first, then the father and last, but certainly least, mom was finally able to have her bath! In some cases,the father bathed,then the mom and last the child/ren! The tub was set-up behind the old wood stove and 2 or 3 sheets (or blankets) were strategically hung so the bather had privacy. If you were very busy working outside or inside cleaning,etc.(mom's "jobs" back then)...sweaty & dirty, you could/would have a sponge-bath before bed - so your bedding didn't become soiled too soon. I'm sure if this guy finds the "love-of-his-life", he will soon ready the space for a fully functioning composting toilet and a fully functioning shower stall!

I can't stand bus builds where the rear door is blocked (which is the whole point of choosing a bus for the openness flow of the back door) and the damn bed is so high you can't even doggy style....LAME. What a waste of a mobile apartment. All for the a rear junk "garage" in the back. Just install aluminum storage boxes underneath. You have ridiculous space there just wasted.
