Hi Martha, enjoying your content, and the honest integrity behind it. As a professional since 1986/7 I can identify with many things covered in several of your videos. I just wonder in this age of the internet and online strategies and having pursued it hard since August 2019, if somehow my surname APPS has in some way held me back, let me know if you have any thoughts on this, I’d Love to hear them. Best wishes and keep such content coming, Paul

Great videos Martha! Thanks! Isn't Instagram loosing its appeal now it is pushing reels on us?

Not at all Susie, a lot of the artists we work with are going viral through their reels and are therefore having greater reach 😊

When it comes to art there's no such thing as "good enough." Also there's no such thing as "art." Only famous art sells and it sells to investors who only invest in art that has some level of fame.

Thanks for watching! Artists that we work with regularly sell their work and have built successful businesses without their art necessarily being famous 🤗
@dingusdingus2152 Жыл бұрын
@Sharperthanu1 there is quite a bit more to it than that. The vast majority of wealthy art collectors consider art to be an "asset class". These uh, individuals, very seldom factor the aesthetic qualities of any particular work of art into their calculations. The art is expected to appreciate in value. If you happen to be a famous artist, this generally works in your favor. But only a comparatively tiny handful of artists are superstars and can command large sums for their work. The overwhelming majority of people will never spend a dime on an original work of art in their lives. You can see how this dynamic works out in practice, with the same overwhelming majority of artists in frenzied hyper competition for an almost nonexistent share of the market, and spending their lives toiling and struggling to make sales and gain recognition utterly in vain, with the odds of success heavily stacked against them. This is the cold harsh reality. Anyone thinking that they will earn a living as an artist is walking through a minefield.
