When I was there, I literally got jumpscared and SD’d mid set because someone chose a random moment to scream at the top of their lungs 3 feet from me (no words, just *AAAAAAAAH*). The same guy started doing it repeatedly, and after my set the TOs just kept gassing him up. Apparently he was from the region? Either way it was jarring

I wish this tournament wasn't run so badly. It's unfortunate that the kind of behavior from spectators and the drunk commentary that happened at Cirque was allowed to happen at all, but at this point I can't say I'm surprised, unfortunately, given the types of people that have been allowed to compete at past editions. I hope Cirque fixes their tournament up, because it has the potential to be an all-timer (and clearly the players at least enjoy themselves there considering they keep going back every edition). They probably need some new blood behind the scenes to do that.
@stealthgamer46203 ай бұрын
I believe they were the actual hosts of the tournament. I was watching it from Zero's stream POV and that's what he said. However, correct me if I'm wrong.
@purplecoffinman85103 ай бұрын
@@stealthgamer4620 In that case the tournament needs new hosts. If players are willing to come out to this location, location clearly isn't the problem. They need new TOs, people that won't let Zero play or restream.
@stealthgamer46203 ай бұрын
@@purplecoffinman8510 lemme rephrase that, apparently Zero said they owned tournament, “without them there is no tournament.”Which I’m not sure how entirely true that is, this is just hear-say though. What does TOs mean, or you mean ToS? Also, sorry, confused by the way you phrased it, are you okay or not okay with Zero restreaming and playing?
@purplecoffinman85103 ай бұрын
@@stealthgamer4620 Ah, I see. I don't particularly think that's true, Cirque will still go on as long as people running get their act together. I don't think there's no tournament without them. TO means tournament organiser, and TOs is the plural of that. And no, I'm not OK with ZeRo being anywhere near the community after he admitted to everything he was alleged of. I'd rather he doesn't restream, play or interact with the community in any way.
@stealthgamer46203 ай бұрын
@@purplecoffinman8510 Yeah unfortunately it’s like the whole “Blizzard thing”-yes but not really-it’s kind of like shit conditions but this major object/event still goes on; well only difference is Blizzard got shut down and it was because of work conditions. In this sense, attending, streaming and hosting all counts as work conditions. The only real way to change about this tournament is by the players and spectators boycotting it, which may be hard to do. Or if major PR speaks out about it. As far as I know, Zero cleared all the allegations, however, I’ve heard people say he didn’t or technically didn’t…blah blah blah, just things I personally don’t care about; because it’s hard to take Reddit and Twitter users seriously, and sources from other YTubers don’t have the full story or truth. I trust Zero’s allegation clear video, you don’t have to nor trust it, I do. There are other individuals still in the smash community that have done more nefarious things and they were admitted true. I’ve always enjoyed watching Zero as a creator and person, glad he bounced back massively and doing better than okay. I resent overall cancel culture, unless it’s very extreme. However, everyone is free to feel hate or disdain towards others.

Muting Cirque's stream for us is the most based thing RisterMice has ever done. Bless you, sir.
@Tenfoldoncesaid2 ай бұрын
Small insight here. The commentary is that way due to branding and recognition. It’s made to be as grassroots as possible and helps with publicity. Cirque has had 4 events from less than 10 people running it and have had some of the best players and content in the world due to really quick growth and organization by the TOs. If anyone looked at the commentary on any stream other than the first half of top 8 they would have recognized that it was not only professional but incredibly talented. But as you all are doing in the comments is fixating on the first half.
