Been shooting Victory arrows since I started and currently shooting the RIP XV's as well for 3D. I have the 250's left over from a set I was going to hunt with, but even with 160g up front, the arrow still comes out to 400g. In Idaho, it's pretty rare to not have an outdoor shoot without any kind of wind, so I prefer that 400g mark to buck the wind a little better and can still manage to get about 125yds+ out of my sight. I have found if you are cutting them under 28", you can definitely get Gamers down to .001 and Sports down to .003 straightness or better and save money. For my hunting arrows, I also cut from the back to leave as much of the arrow as possible with the slick ICE coating they put on them. Even at 26.5" there is room for my fletches and if you use a wrap, it doesn't matter how much of the back you cut off. As for the inserts, I upgraded to the 60g SS and use Iron Will's hot melt and it by far works better than any other melt and super glue with both VIctory and third party inserts. The only issue I have ever had is shooting in hotter weather and having my arrows on a tailgate or table while shooting in the direct sunlight instead of my quiver. The inserts can loosen or even come out in higher than normal heat. I used to nock tune Victory's, even with the spine align mark, but found out for myself that it didn't make a significant difference. At best, even with my specific setup and way overspined arrows, the spine aligned mark would be less than an 1/8th of a turn off at worst. So I just set my nocks up with the spine aligned mark every time and have little to no issues, even when broadhead tuning. A long winded comment, but appreciate the video and hoping for the best out of those XV's for you at TAC.

I had issues with blue cool melt, switched to the feralite hot melt(yellowish) and haven't had any problems. But the shok outserts are a pain to get out of some targets and with the blue cool melt you'll definitely be donating outserts and points to targets lol.

Are you doing Oklahoma TAC? I'd be interested to see how that light off an arrow performs at distance if there's much wind. I'm shooting rip tkos at about 430 grains 70 lb 29 in draw and getting around 300 fps out of my Mathews lift and that seems to be pretty good for me but I'll probably go lighter next year but with the shorter draw length i definitely get wanting lighter.

I had a similar setup for tac but I used the glue in points for the 3dhv 150 grain total and bohing 1.5” x vane flecthed with an az max helic jig. The total arrow weight was 375 grains. Had a pin out to 150. What spine are you running?

Probably… I might put a 125 up front. No issues so far. One shop told me it was fine. Another shop said up the weight. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Just my opinion, but some of the TAC long-distance shots are a joke. These dedicated TAC arrow builds are a joke. Practice with your actual hunting weight arrows at ranges you actually hunt at. Gaming weight arrow should only be used for actual competition.

The Beauty of TAC is that it isn’t a competition with anyone else except your buddies. You can play the game however you want. But if I’m taking 100 yrd bombs it won’t be with my hunting set up.

I think build arrows for what you’re doing 🤷🏻‍♂️ shooting tac? Build tac arrows. 3d? Build some 27s. Build an arrow for whitetail and if you go elk hunting you should build an arrow for that. Saying only use hunting arrows for everything is like saying use a flathead screwdriver for every project. Arrows are use specific. Build them for your task.

@Saddle-Ninja 3D was originally meant for actual hunting practice until people made a competition out of it. TAC is a competition that has not become official competition with podiums and prizes yet. Sure, you can try and win stuff if you pay extra for the opportunity.
