In case you don’t get a full tutorial, this may help. I know this as a tailor tack and it works when you cut two layers of fabric together. 1. Thread a needle and pull both ends even (needle in centre of the length) so you are in effect sewing with double thread. 2. After your pattern pieces are cut, I keep the pattern pinned, but you could mark the point with a pin, put your needle down through all layers at the point to be marked leaving a tail of thread about an inch long facing up at you 3. Bring the needle back up just to the side of the thread that went down until you are just about to pull at the tail you left (the stitch will be flat on the back) 4. Put the needle down again following the first downward stitch but this time leave a loop about half an inch high facing up towards you 5. Repeat the upward stitch as before leaving a flat stitch on the back and cut the thread off leaving another 1 inch tail. You should have two tails and a loop as you look down. 6. If you have chosen to sew through the pattern gently pull it away from the fabric. Then gently pull the two pieces of fabric apart. This should turn the loop into a flat stitch with the tails either side, but shorter. 7. Between the two pieces of fabric you should have eight threads. Once their length is cut at the halfway point you will be left with little tufts marking the points as required. Hope that helps at least in the short term. I was taught to use tailor tacks at school, but that was 40 years ago and they don’t seem to get used much now probably because they re a bit more time consuming. I personally prefer them. The white strip is a plastic strapping band and often used for packing work. In areas with thickness, there may be unevenness at the presser foot, causing the pressure and feed teeth to be less stable than usual. To increase the pressure and stabilize it, we intentionally use PP tape to raise the height of the presser foot. This is also useful for straight guide line. Thank you!
