I have almost no formal training in music. Just years and years of listening to hip-hop. I downloaded FL for the first time this past weekend and have been reading and watching everything I can. These types of vids are a godsend. I know it's a lot of work putting these together so....Thank you!!

bro, I’ve never learned English, but I understand you perfectly! I’m from Russia, and in my opinion this genre has not yet gained momentum here, I’m watching and learning! you are the best in this matter (of those who do and teach!) thanks for the great content! I’m writing through a translator, sorry if my speech is crooked!
@TheLordPanic9 ай бұрын
You’ll be okay… besides just because a genre has not gained popularity in a specific country doesn’t mean you shouldn’t study it. In fact, low saturation is an advantage.. be one of the first to learn and master this genre in your own country! You’ll be ahead of the game.

Another big clip about Trap and you are the GOAT teacher producer ever.
@TheLordPanic9 ай бұрын
What you can try to do is listen to trap music / instrumentals.. and by ear, try to figure out how to create a drum loop for trap, then use the same principles you learned here on this masterclass video and apply it to your trap beats! Do everything by ear. You have to have the ability as a producer to decode / reverse engineer music to produce it. That’s a skill that comes with time. I’ve been doing this since 2011. Hope that helps! 👊🏼

I said this to someone in another comment thread… but this is where the long tutorials via KZbin help people, it gives us enough time to let the tutorial act as if it was made for us, then it speaks to us as a result… because we need it, WAY better than a short due to the lack of authenticity in shorts.

Bruh this is a gold tutorial. Some things I learned from this is to check key on everything including risers... Also good use of grossbeat which I have, but barely understand...
@TheLordPanic9 ай бұрын
That’s a good point! When I produce music I don’t check the key for percussion but definitely for risers. It’s too miniscule to pick up… the elements you need make sure you check and upwards; is bass/sub bass. That’s the bare minimum… also gross beat is good but it’s definitely overused. Use it wisely.

How do you produce other music genres ? I would assume you take the principles you hear for Drill and apply it to other genres ? Me personally, I clock genres by ear. One of the hardest things I did was listen to break beat DnB and recreate the Break beat drum pattern without using shuffles (it’s not released yet) but it was tough.. especially doing it by ear - takes a long time.

**TIP** 36:55 if you are using fl limiter to sidechain .. if the release shape looks jagged then increase the sustain knob until the release line is smooth. This will give a cleaner sound to your side chain, especially if you use a bass heavy kick which can make your compressor's release bug out and be shakey and not smooth.

If you want to send clipped files then export at 32bit, not 24 or 16bit. The last two options will have clipped distorion baked into your files. If you export at 32bits the engineer can simply turn those files down without any unwanted distortion baked into them. If your master or stems go past 0db, export at 32bit so the engineer can lower the volume properly when its time to record over the beat

Somebody give this man his flowers he deserves, anybody who has been doin this music shit and I mean like this not just randomly throwing premade loops together and calling it their own but anybody who has been composing I know is getting that feeling in your stomach and the emotions from the years it took to perfect our craft I know can without a doubt appreciate what j just gave to you, priceless techniques that we had to literally figure it out (speaking for myself here I had to feel for this by instinct and ear, without any musical schooling background as far as knowing chords, scales, progressions, pitching, Stretching, harmonizing, bending, to the importance of subtle breaks fills risers impacts for key markers for artists to just actually counting the verses and the hooks, as to already got a 16 verse with 4 or 8 bar hooks, intros outros....etc ready to go) that took us years to learn and master and this young man just gave you priceless knowledge and did so masterfully in one hours time and handed it over to everyone!?!? 🎉🎉🎉 Soak this up because there are a lot of huge producers that payed millions to be taught this stuff. Absolutely phenomenal sir well done my hat is off to you. Music is food and life for the soul, thank you for allowing us into the mind of a musical genius

Best Guide so far, everybody can learn something from this. I Watch you since i started producing and the only Guide i have not seen from you or any other producer, is a guide for making these edits to publish your music like you do on your insta. I‘d really wish for such a guide i know it isnt exiciting for a beginner but i think many people struggle with getting the right eye catcher for their music you could do a whole Series off it insta publishing, publishing on Spotify, SoundCloud, KZbin, BeatStars. I know its a lot of effort but maybe Even a new direction of Content for you. Excuse the big letters mid sentence but auto-correction hits different here in Germany. 😂
